I gotta say, it's been pretty neat. I only know about 10 or so commands, but I feel like I'm rapidly gaining command over the language--Best of all, I actually enjoy learning it.

I've been exploiting the software and textbooks of Blue Pelican Java for about half an hour each night, but it has been pretty enjoyable to learn. Considering the fact that one of my parents and several relatives know Java, I'm almost certainly getting a part-time job of coding while in college this upcoming fall.

I might occasionally post here to update my progress, but feel free to comment, etc.

I was supposed to learn Java for UIL at my school, but since my teacher didn't know a single thing about Java, I never really understood it. Our school had the Blue Pelican Java books too, and it taught me a lot, but I kind of lost interest, because I didn't really have any goal to accomplish while learning it. If that really makes sense.

I took a few classes in Java during my first year in college. I liked it and thought it was a great language to start with. I haven't touched it in a good while, but it's still probably the language that I have the most experience with.
