As odd as it sounds, I wanted to rank the months of the year, based on how much I enjoy them. Let me explain.
I got the idea a few weeks ago, when I said to my grandmother, "Ugh summer is coming... I really hate how hot June and July are... I'd much rather be back in September." So I went from there and decided to rank the months... crazy huh? Since there are only 12 months, I'll rank all of them this time. 12. June Ask me a few years ago when I was back in school, and this ranks a little higher. It's the end of the school year, and we finally get to go home for the summer... but now that there is no such thing as summer vacation... it's just a super hot time of year that irritates me. I do not like the month of June at all weather wise, and there's little to do in the month. 11. July July is just as bad as June. The one plus to it is the 4th of July which is always a fun time. Aside from that though it is LITERALLY THE SAME THING AS JUNE. Too hot, not much to do, irritating. I would not be sad if I were cyrogenically frozen for the months of June and July. 10. January It is SO COLD... I had to debate whether this was 10th or 11th, as I hate how freezing January can be in New Hampshire. However, what pushed it over the top for me is one of my favorite holidays of the year... New Years. It's an invigorating time of year, where I feel like everything can be better right away. The feeling goes away later in the month, but for a month I feel like life is going to be ok. Still freezing cold though. 9. May There's not much to like about May... It's like April sort of, but hotter, muggier, and less rainy. I'll be very clear... I LOVE the rain. It's my favorite weather. May is just a hot month that reminds me June/July are coming. There's little fun to be had, as the only thing I can think of is Cinco de Mayo... which I don't even celebrate. In a few years, this may end up below January and July. 8. October I really like the month of October... it's right after September, and right before November. It's a nice in-between month... or should be. October tends to be much colder than I would like, and has nothing for me anymore. Previously October would be the end of Cross Country season, and it would be Halloween, one of my fave holidays as a kid. However, neither of those apply anymore, and it's just a cold month that reminds me winter is on the way. Plus I think Football season is in full swing, and I hate Football season. ESPN never shuts up about it. Oh... and baseball season ends. I love the World Series... but then I have no baseball for like 5-6 months. 7. April There are a lot of things to like about April. It rains a lot, it's the start of baseball season, and I can walk around shirtless without feeling uncomfortable. So what's the problem? First of all, a lack of holidays. Aside from April Fools, there's little endearing about the month... and bugs start coming out in full force. I f***ing HATE HATE HATE bugs. 6. March It's just like April with one big difference. Much less bugs. I love the rain. Despite there being nothing of note for holidays, the entire month is one big giant spree of rain. And again, I LOVE THE RAIN. Plus it's not hot. It's nice and cool. I like cool weather. 5. February It's cold. It's snowy. It's depressing. So why is it so high on my list? Valentine's Day. It's the best time of year when you have a loved one. Not so much if you don't have one. Honestly, if I wasn't engaged... this would probably be my least favorite month. Below even June. Oh, and football season ends. That's a plus. 4. December It's cold. It's snowy. It's depressing. But you know why I love this month. Christmas. There is literally no other reason for it's placement this high on my list. Don't know why, but Christmas feels magical. Plus it's the end of the year... and I always love starting a new year. 3. November Thanksgiving has become one of my favorite holidays. I don't generally like my family, but I like visiting them on this one day of year. We eat, we laugh, we have a jolly good time. Christmas shopping has started, and it's a nice time of year to have loved ones. On top of that, it's not too cold, nor not too hot. It's probably closer to cold than hot... which is a good thing. 2. August My birthday is in this month. There's not much other reason for it being so high up. Baseball is in full swing, and it's the only major sport still going. For one month of the year, ESPN actually FOCUSES on baseball, which is much appreciated. Baseball is my favorite sport, and it's always a joy to be awake. It's a little hot for my liking... but meh. 1. September Perfect weather. Perfect month. It may not rain a lot, but the weather cools down to my favorite temperature. School starts, so all the annoying kids go back to school, and I don't have to listen to them for a while. In general, it's the best time of year to be an unemployed job seeker. More people are willing to hire someone out of school. I got the idea a few weeks ago, when I said to my grandmother, "Ugh summer is coming... I really hate how hot June and July are... I definitely agree. September is the best month--there's no doubt about it. |

Hmm in a way leggy this isn't odd. If I had the chance to rank these months, I'd place them in this order, maybe with a slight difference though...I really like September as my number one month because the weather is fair and it isn't too hot or too cold. So I totally agree with this ranking system too. |

Well, unlike you guys, I beg to differ with leggy. Here is my rankings: 12. March I say this because there are no holidays during this month, and both football and baseball are gone. Just devastating. 11. February I know February is suppose to be the month of love, but really? The snow starts to melt, you got the whole groundhog gimmick, and then the fact that two of my grandfathers died in this month: one of them one year, and the other the next year. 10. April I hate rain. And the rain is usally bad in April. And then you got April's Fool Day on the first. >.< 9. August When I was still in school, this is when i went back. And this is also that time that I knew I was going to have to deal with my step-mother for another 11 months before I got to visit my family in Washington again, and get a break from here. 8. September Well, this is the month that 9-11 happen. I don't know why it is not higher on my list. I just feel that this is where this should be. 7. October Nothing much for this month, besides the fact that you get free candy on the last day of it, and get to be an idiot towards your friends in the name of friendship. 6. May May is when you start crunching for those finals, and getting ready to get out of school. 5. July You got 4th of July festivities, and then the fact that my grandfather's birthday is on the 4th as well. and then that is like the only complete month that you are allowed to goof off in, unless you have a job. :/ 4. June June has always been special to me. It is when I go and visit my family, and it is when I get out of school. 3. January Not only is it playoff time for football, but there is snow, and the start of a new year. Just so refreshing. 2. November November is the start of the holiday season, when you start seeing and talking to old family and friends. 1. December December gets my number one spot because it has my birthday in it, it has Christmas, and it has about 7 or 8 family member's birthdays in it. Plus, the Snow is just starting up, and I love me some snow. So yeah, that is my rankings, I guess. 12. March I say this because there are no holidays during this month, and both football and baseball are gone. Just devastating. 11. I'll have to agree with #1. September, even though its the time that School gets back in session, is the best weather wise. Its starting to cool down, and not too cold, but just right. |
