Because it's like something you would read in a health article (of course it is boring waiting in the Waiting Room for a Doctor's Appointment), and it's one of the rules that when posting, you use original text and not copy and paste (which I think is considered spam). No, no, no, no, no, no, NO! Smoking is DISGUSTING. This is pretty much what they're really saying when they're talking about smoking:

Person 1: "C'mon, try it! It makes you cough and stink and die!"

Person 2: "I don't see the harm."

And that is all I have to say.

No I do not think that smoking is sexy. My ex-girlfriend quit smoking before she met me. I will not tolerate it. I think I have allergic reaction because I turn all red in my face when  I am around the cigarette smoke. It is such a awful habit.

Sexy? No. I don't smoke cigarettes and never plan to. I know of the health problems it can cause and I've been told almost all of my life not to. On top of health concerns I have always thought of it to be a waste of other people's time. What I mean by this is ever since I was little my parents and other relatives have told me not to and what could happen if I did smoke cigarettes. If I started then that means all of the times they told me not to and why I shouldn't would have become all wasted moments. Wasted time when they were just looking out for me. Even if I didn't care about others or what they have told me I simply don't want to. I also would not like it if I was dating a girl who smoked. Out of concern for her health mostly, but also I don't like the smell it leaves. It's something I could tolerate for a while but at one point it would have to stop. I do know the difficulty that comes with trying to quit, and I can be very understanding. I have asthma and being surrounded by a cloud of smoke obviously does not help. In films however... I can't name them but I remember watching films that were out some time ago where there were women smoking a cigarette who gave off the appearance of sheer and utter sexiness, class, they were seductive really. I don't find smoking sexy, but they were in how they were portrayed in the films. By the time I got to High School many of my friends had started smoking. I find it's a bad habit and I find it truly pathetic when someone gives into peer pressure. I've had people come up to me and offer me a smoke or really try to annoy me into starting. It really isn't a difficult thing to just say no.  Goodnight everyone. 

Smoking is most definitely not a cool thing nemore.........I mean honestly back in the day 40's 50's and so forth..........people really didn't know about the health hazards that cigs could carry.  I mean yeah James Dean playin' it cool smokin' a cig back then everybody would think it was cool if ya really think about it....It's almost like people drinkin' four loco or whatever that is....but it's just not cool.  But......I would never really get in somebodies face about it unless the smoke was coming towards me......other than that it's not my place to tell people how to live their lives......

Wow, I could've sworn that I'd posted in this thread. I don't usually find smoking cigarettes sexy; every now and then, though, I do. It's a psychological thing with me - I know that it's bad for you, which is why I occasionally find it attractive. That's a very rare occurrence though, and I always slap myself afterwards.

As far as smoking tobacco goes, it's not bad for you if you're an infrequent smoker (IE: 3 or less times a week). Cigarettes are actually the single worst form of smoking tobacco that you can buy, despite the fact that cigars have 10x the amount of tobacco. You see, cigarettes are filled with hundreds, if not thousands, of additives.  These additives include nicotine, rat poison, cyanide*, and various others. Cigars have additives, no doubt, but it only has a few dozen if that, and a small amount of each. 

Cigarettes are designed to get you addicted and keep you that way; designed to worsen your health. Cigars aren't like that. I'm not going to say that they aren't designed to hook you in, as I'm sure that they are to some extent. Studies, that I can't be arsed to look up again, actually show that infrequent smoking (again, 3 or less times a week) of cigars actually have health benefits. This is because it can be seen as a relaxing thing to do, akin to somebody opening a beer after a long day.

Annette - Try telling your boyfriend to buy little cigars. They're cheaper to buy, aren't as heavily taxed, and don't have nearly as many additives. Little cigars are the size of cigarettes, by the way.

   *Cyanide is an incredibly lethal substance. In order to understand what it does, I'll give you a brief less/reminder in biology. Everything you eat contains glucose. ATP is a molecule that contains great energy that is to be released when an enzyme breaks the chemical bond to one of its 3 phosphate tails. ATP is used for all chemical reactions. ATP is formed by using ATP to break down the bonds of glucose molecules, producing more ATP than was used to create it. Muscles are incapable of storing enough ATP to last for more than a few seconds of movement. Cyanide makes the production of ATP impossible, thus making the chemical processes that make life possible impossible.

Smoking is not sexy! I personally don't like the smell and it's bad for your health.

If anything it would be a turn off for me.

Copying and pasting is allowed since there are times when it makes more sense to copy/paste evidence from a source when you are making and argument. The difference is that since the words are not yours, they are marked "ignore words" so you get no Viz from them and they don't count for competitions. ProGamer did nothing wrong.

Sorry for the side-tracking, I just wanted to clear that up.

Essentially all........we all know smoking cigs (which I don't) but even cigars even the really cool Cubans ones (which are worse and still illegal I think and occasionally do smoke) are terrible or ourselves and the people are us.  I think the thing that bothers me is not so much when people smoke......but where they do and if they have kids around them.....forgettaboutit.....that's just wrong on so many levels.  But....in the end it is the persons, right and choice to smoke if ya boil it down to simplicity.  Just don't be a douche and blow it in my face or any kids around and I can handle it.  On the comical side....one day 420 will be legal and cigs won't be.....remember this is a joke and in good fun all.  

I don't think it is cute to smoke. I am trying to quit. My wife smokes so it don't bother her. I really can't stand is second hand smoke because there is no filter and it will kill you faster.

I will admit that some people do look pretty sexy when they're lighting a cigeratte but no, I don't think I would date a smoker
