A boy and his blob is quite simply one of the most iconic and classic NES games. The history of the game is quite simple and completely corresponds to the original template. Planet Blobonia is suppressed by a power-hungry Emperor and bullied. One of the residents go on the Earth where he meets a little boy lost looking for help. The two friends get on after a few moments of horror and decide to rescue Blobonia from the clutches of evil; together they form a strong team.

The game is amazing and unique and in essence is beautiful comparable with no other game. The pear-shaped clay figure BLOB can freely change its shape. The process of transformation is made by colourful jelly beans that the boy can feed it if necessary. Depending on the color of the bean BLOB changes to a ladder, a trampoline, a bouncy ball and other things. To achieve the goal of each level packaged as a delicious bean, the boy has various obstacles using BLOB transformations or bypass. It is the smallest fall into a void that kills you and this requires in addition to mental work, primarily skill as or a leap into the void immediately disposes of the spoon. Infinite life and more than just generously distributed reset points compensate but never really ease the frustration.

The degree of difficulty of the game is relatively simple, which is not necessarily bad considering the young target group. A total of 40 regular levels played out in four worlds including the planet Blobonia and the fortress of the evil emperor. The special challenge of each individual level but is in finding the three hidden treasure chests each granting access to a bonus round. These are additional stages, bringing the total number of levels to 80. These levels are generally somewhat more difficult than the regular and have no reset points. For this reason, they can be quite demanding even for experienced players, even the Advanced play where blobs repertoire was previously extended to many new skills. So must the brave boy sometimes as Cannonball or a BLOB rocket through the air breeze often only one of malicious enemies over pounce with a paraglider in frightening depths, coordinated with his BLOB double act, which is one of the most difficult tasks. The constantly expanding possibilities of the BLOB make roughly-makeup the game despite the similar created platform levels, again interesting. At the end you must address each of the four worlds with a nasty boss, which is more than good.

From a technical perspective everything is great. The graphics are beautiful but not overloaded, the background change even within a world more than enough. The atmosphere is superb. The acoustic music adapts itself to the whole and radiates most melancholy and peace. Only negative is the only slightly too slow control I noticed that can be frustrating in the boss fights. Also sometimes the boy inadvertently hangs on a ladder, which often leads to the death. Otherwise the controls succeed because they really cover all desirable features. You can also call the BLOB wherever you are which really helps in many puzzles.

Numerous bonus materials such as artwork, sketches and conceptual works will be activated after the bonus round, giving a moments relief in the action of the game play.
