Well, I had this big English project that was due, but I didn't know when we should turn it in. So my friend tells me it was due Thursday, when it was actually due Tuesday. It was pretty mean.

I have not been screwed out of a bet or anything before surprisingly. I am considered lucky

The worst rip off incident I have ever experienced was me buying packs of fake Yu-Gi-Oh for double the price! I was really stupid with money back then. Because of this I always double check before I pay. A lesson that I will always keep in mind when shopping blindly.

Well, this isn't really getting ripped off, it's more just bad luck, but a while ago, when I was moving, I asked my step-brother, Kyle, to hold on to my Pokemon card collection (My dad had a strict no magical anything rule, which had just been enforced). It was over 1,000 Pokemon cards, and I had a bunch of first edition holographic cards that were worth a fortune. So, when I came back a week later, they were all gone, because my step-dad thought that they were Kyle's, and threw them all away. Nowadays, If I still had them, I could sell them for, like 10,000 dollars. Like I said, not ripped off, just really bad luck and misunderstanding.

epicpokenerd! : epic, dude, that totally sucks. I collect football cards with my dad. I collect the Ravens and he collects the Steelers. I give him all my Steelers, and he gives me all his Ravens cards. But, the point is, my Dad has a strict no magical thing rule too, and he said it's because God never says in anything in the Bible about magic being real. Anyway, my current collection of Ravens cards are at about 2,750 different ones, valued at almost 3,000 dollars. And I still have about 300 to 400 coming in from a huge trade that me and my dad went together on... the values of those should be around another 400 to 500 dollars, and Dad has about 750 more to give me...

When people ask me why I collect football cards, I say it is because I am interested in football cards, and I look at it as an investment. One day I might not want to collect football cards anymore, so that is why I collect football cards.

I have before.  It happened in school once, but I do not remember.  Probably something to do with fees.  It is just so lame.

I have a couple or maybe a few times. But there is one that I can think of right off hand. I took my car in for routine maintenance such as an oil change, and other tune ups. They tested the battery, and informed me it was low (almost dead), and asked if I would like to purchase a new one. I said yes. I assumed purchasing a new one meant just purchasing it. I know how to change a car battery. It takes 30 seconds to do. They didn't ask me if I wanted them to put it in. They left that out and did it for me anyway so they could charge me an extra $70 for "labor". I was so ticked because they didn't ask me specifically so they could just do it. That is a lesson I will not forget.

one time i had my side mirror broken and a guy said he would fixed it for free so once i got it fixed i had to pay him 140 dollars and the side mirror wasnt completetly fixed

epicpokenerd! : um... it should be around 4,500 different cards, with about 1,750 total extras. And those are just the Ravens. I got anywhere form 70 to  200 of each team, including about 75 Houston Oirlers cards, that I need to trade. I'm not sure what total value is, but just the Ravens... including the ones that are not in my possession yet, and the ones my Dad still has to give me, my estimation is right over $4,000.00 . But, if you include all the Steelers I have to give my dad, and all the cards I need to trade, you looking at at least another $2,000.00 . >.< almost forgot about the 1991 and earlier extra Steelers my Dad gave me for Christmas in 2001. Maybe about 2,000 total, valued at an estimated (and this is off the top of my head) $900.00 .

I can't think of any huge rip offs off the top of my head, but to be fair, I feel ripped off every time I notice that WalMart brand is more expensive than real brands. Hah.

Haha, I got ripped off. I lost almost four years of my life and all I have to show for it is this lousy T-Shirt... That is to say, I joined the Army.

Lazlo Falconi : dude... please fix your layout... I read what you said... but it is WAY up in the previous post, covering their post... can you fix that please? And what is wrong with the Army... I have to start doing MEPS and all that stuff next week?

thing1 : Not sure what's wrong with my layout... It seems to be working for me, and I haven't had any other complaints yet. Please tell me you're not using Internet Explorer 6 (Which I think is the only browser that doesn't support the CSS I've used)

As for the Army stuff... Well, it's not really as bad as all that, but definitely don't take everything your recruiter says at face value. When I joined, I told my recruiter that he didn't need to try to entice me to join, because I was at a bad point in my life and I NEEDED the Army--or I thought I did--so he didn't need to lie to me. And I don't think that he did, but there was a lot of stuff he didn't know about, or maybe forgot to mention. His errors cost me the MOS that I wanted, and actually probably kept me from being a general officer. I think I would have been a lot more pleased with my time in the Army if he would have just looked at my Enlisted Records Brief before I went to MEPS.

But for what it's worth, if I didn't have a family, I would have joined the Navy instead.

Hey, what MOS do you want? What kind of contract do you think you'll sign? Are you going to be Reserve Component, National Guard, or Active Duty?

If there's anything you want to know about the Army, feel free to ask me, I don't know everything, or even a lot, but I do have some good information that I wish I would have had before going to Basic, or even to MEPS.
