So in this review I am going to make a comeback in the reveiws since I never made a review since August. This is Donkey Kong Country, a pretty good classic Super Nintendo game. It is something nobody expected back then, with DK returning since the arcade games. Let's get to reviewing!
DIFFICULTY 6
The game isn't that bad in the difficulty, but its like any other game, not overly tough, but not too easy either. It gets progressively tougher as you progress. From beginning to end, it gets tougher and tougher. Nothing out of control or in random, its in order. You should be fine until the Gorilla Glacier world. It will get a bit more tough, at least it gets tough for me, since its an ice world.
DEPTH 7
Its not that long of a game, but it isn't too short, its normal.
There is about 6 worlds in the game, 7 if counting the last world, which only contains the final boss:
Kongo Jungle
Monkey Mines
Vine Valley
Gorilla Glacier
Kremkroc Industries, Inc.
Gangplank Galleon
Not too long worlds, but the game does have saves, so you might not beat the game in one sitting, unless you really REALLY want to beat this. In each world there is a boss, and here is a list of their names, and strategy to beat them.
World 1: Very Gnawty
You should beat it pretty easily, just jump on its head 5 times and its dead. As you hit it, it gets more and more angry, and jumps higher and moves faster, so be careful.
World 2: Master Necky
This guy shouldn't be too much of a bother yet, like the last boss, just jump on its head 5 times and its dead. Jump on the tires to hit it, and avoid the nuts that it spits out of its mouth and you should beat it easily.
World 3: Queen B.
This boss is different. Do NOT jump on it, you can't beat it that way, you must hit it with the barrel in the area 5 times to beat it. Every time you hit it, it turns red and flies around the area, so avoid it at all costs, you can't hurt it at this state. When its in its normal colors again, proceed hitting it, and you should beat it easily.
World 4: Really Gnawty
This boss is pretty similar to World 1's boss Very Gnawty, only this time, this guy is tougher. Only one thing, it can jump higher and is much faster than the last boss, so don't underestimate it, but you can beat it like last time, jump on its head 5 times and it should be dead.
World 5: Dumb Drum
This boss you can't hurt. This boss is more of a gauntlet if you look at it right, just beat its wave of enemies, and it should be dead fairly quick, so don't try to jump on it, you will take damage.
World 6: Master Necky Snr.
This guy is another similarity to an earlier boss, world 2's boss Master Necky. You should beat it with 5 jumps on it though, so no trouble, just be careful with it, its faster, and tougher than last time.
World 7: King K. Rool
This is the last boss of the game, and is the toughest boss of the game, you can beat it by jumping on his head ONLY when his CROWN is OFF. You will take damage if his crown is still on him and you jump on him. When you beat him once, "Kredits" will roll, and this is NOT the end of the battle, so be careful when it stops rolling, King K. Rool will get up and will be tougher than the last time, so be careful. Just jump on him a few times, and when he is down again, it will be for good. He will be defeated, and you beat the game.
STORY 3
There isn't really any details on what the story is in the game, just in the manual or the box that comes with the game, I suppose. The main story is King K. Rool and his Kremlings have taken over DK Island and stole DK's bananas, so DK and Diddy Kong are going to go and get them back. That's pretty much it.
ADDICTIVENESS 10
This game will get you hooked pretty quick, its a classic SNES game, and a pretty fun one too. With all the secrets in the game, and all the minigames, that will keep you entertained with the game for quite a while. Definitely got me on that.
SOUND 9
With the sound track and sound FX in this game, it really is good, I really love the sound track on all the stages, especially the underwater theme, that is probably my favorite theme of the game, it really is peaceful. Love it all.
GRAPHICS 8
The design of this game is pretty good for SNES standards, it has good graphics on the snow, rain, and all other stages to make it pretty cool and different. Its not the best, but its something I really like.
OVERALL 9.6
Overall this game is probably one of the great classics of all the RGR and SNES categories. So you can safely say that I definitely recommend playing this game right now. So you can go down to the RGR right now and have a fun time playing this game, trust me, you will have a fun time playing this.
Hope you like it. |
