That might be the issue, there's a sport in Hockey, and it's pretty crap. If it was literally just MMA on Ice, I could probably understand the appeal a bit more. But it's a snooze fest, because they penalize you for fighting, and force you to watch 90 minutes or however long it is, of people going back and forth and being boring even at high speeds.

My favorite part of California is all the things there are to do. I don't ever want for anything, because it's all within reach. Today we're going whale watching, like it's no big deal. I've never even seen a whale.

I got a job at Big Five Sporting Goods. It's a smaller sporting goods store than Dicks or Sports Chalet, but our inventory is wide-reaching. All kinds of sporting clothes, from Nike, Adidas, Russell, Under Armour, Balance Collection, Fila, etc; snow equipment from Body Glove, Sport Essentials, and Demon; camping equipment, including flashlights, tents, propane, etc; weightlifting and fitness gear, including treadmills, punching bags, yoga mats, free weights, etc; knives and guns, airsoft rifles, and of course, shoes. There's more stuff I'm probably forgetting, but that's the bulk of what our store sells. It's a great job, and I love my co-workers.

I'm honestly going to say it's this one.

Everyone likes to look back on the past through rose colored nostalgia lenses, but the sheer reality is that games keep on getting better, both in gameplay innovations and in graphical excellence. Anyone who says an older console is better than the current ones is holding onto the past, theirs or someone elses.

It always bothers me when a 13 year old, who was born after the GameCube was released, says that the NES or SNES was the best, because they have the best games available right in front of them on the PS4/One or Wii U. And if we're including the PC in this, it's undebatable the current era is better, because with very few exceptions, you can play all of the old games on modern machines.

If retro games are your thing, that's fine, but almost ALL the major consoles allow you to play retro games. I don't own a Wii U, but I'm fairly certain their virtual store allows you to play Super Mario World for example. The PS4 has many classics, Final Fantasy 7 for example, that you can get on PSN for like 10 bucks. The only modern console lacking for that is the One, and that's only because the Microsoft line only goes back about a decade, the other consoles have twice as long a time frame to go back on.

Anybody who wants to say the old consoles are better is just kidding themselves. Games keep getting better and better, and better.

Since you believe THIS era is the best one for gaming, what games are you looking forward to this year?

The first names that come to mind are Final Fantasy XV and No Man's Sky. Both are games I've wanted since they were first announced (yes, even when it was Versus XIII).

Essentially just to be healthier with what I drink.

No soda, no energy drinks, and no sports drinks. Only water, natural juice, and only once a month will I drink one alcoholic beverage.

Basically, just to save money on what I'm expending on drinks, which is way too much.

Now that you mention Final Fantasy XV, what do you think of the series after Final Fantasy X (the last one I played)?

Honestly, it's a mixed bag.

Final Fantasy X was probably my favorite or second favorite FF game, so everything after it is just... not as good in comparison.

Final Fantasy XI and XIV are garbage. MMOs are trash and always will be. Monthly subscription fees are also the biggest scam ever.

Final Fantasy XIII was meh, but spawned two interesting sequels, in XIII-2 and Lightning Returns. I can't give the XIII entry a wholesale poor score as a result.

Final Fantasy XII was excellent, and largely what I'm expecting a return to, with XV, although I figure it will just be XIII with an interesting story, better gameplay, and an open-ended world.

What's the worst adventure game you've ever played?

If you could take David's place, what would you change on the website?

1. Ban a lot of people this place could do without.
2. Get rid of the TDV
3. Start marketing Vizzed as a server haven for all kinds of games.

Did you have any resolutions for the new year?

zanderlex :

One.

Drink more water and juice and no soda, or energy drinks.

legacyme3 : I kind of had a similar resolution, but instead of just stopping and straight up switching from soda to water and juice, I'm kind of phasing it out by drinking diet soda and Kickstart, which is basically the healthiest energy drink out there.

How has that resolution been going for you so far?

So far, so good. I feel healthier than I've ever been, and I don't have any withdrawals yet

I was a heavy soda drinker for years, so I kept getting told there'd be bad ones.

What were some of tour favorite sodas? And now, what are tour favorite juices?

zanderlex :

I drank way too much IBC Black Cherry cola and Cherry Coke. Now I mostly drink natural lemonade and apple juice.
