I never did any official tests recently to see how fast I can type, but I think I'm a decent typist. I'm neither really fast nor really slow. But I do make the occasional mistake, so I have to go back and check my work from time to time.

However, typing random words / sentences that I don't create means my speed is in the high seventies, maybe low eighties.

Like others have mentioned, I also do not use all of the fingers to type, which I guess may slow thing a little bit. I also memorized the whole keyboard, simply by just using it over and over. Browsing the Internet and participating in forums has sped up my typing. I'm around 80 words per minute, the time I took the test of certain Youtuber in a Youtube video. I guess I type somewhat faster than most of the people in school so that's good. I also use the caps lock button instead of just pressing the shift button, I don't know why but I got used to it, trying to use the shift button to capitalize a letter seems a little weird for me.

What annoys me are people who just peck the keyboard with their fingers. They're the ones who gave birth to words like "thx" "lol" and "ur".

Someone70 : Judging from the amount of time you (used to) spend in chat, and how much I'm sure you type for school, I'd say you probably average around 80 WPM if you're a pretty typical student, so I'd say if you applied yourself you could hit 100 pretty easily.
