Overall - 7
Jack Nicklaus Golf on the NES is one of the weirdest golf games I have ever played on the NES. I remember playing this when I was a kid. I was not very good when I played it back in the past, but playing now today is just a little bit easier. First of all, I have no idea who this person is lol and second of all, it was the only golf game I could remember that was okay for a golf game.
Graphics - 6
The graphics are horribly bad. The main menu is okay, but when it shows his face when you start your hole, he looks like he is black with blonde hair. He is not black (not trying to be racist), how could they mess up on that? The other thing is that every time you hit the ball, it loads the image of the field for about 10 seconds. It is very slow on making the graphics and the grass does not even look like grass.
Sound - 7
The sounds are okay, but there is just no background music. In Mario Golf on the Nintendo 64, there would always be songs playing while your hitting the ball, but on this game, it is just very quiet. The only song you hear is the main menu song and it plays it when you start the game, finish a hole, and basically anywhere when you are not playing the game. The sound of the swinging is not that bad, but I would assume something a little bit better.
Addictiveness - 6
Like I said, I played this when I was a kid and of course I would play it some of the time, but not all the time. It is an okay game if you do not compare the bad graphics and the no sound.
Story - N/A
There is no story in this game. All you do is golf. Golf by yourself, golf with your friends, golf till you eyes pop out lol.
Depth - 5
The game is not only single player golf, you can also play with friends and sometimes change the style of golf. There are many options to play in this game, but basically the same controls.
Difficulty - 4
This game is not hard when you get used to it. I remember landing the ball into the water all the time when I was a kid, but now I understand the game of golf. What I hate the most is the putting. It is a pain in the butt when you are trying to putt.
Wrap Things Up...
Jack Nicklaus (whoever he is) Golf on the NES is a very good rememberable game to play. I recommend trying this game out if you have not already. I guarantee that it will bring back the past.
