This was one of the earliest games I had as a kid. I don't remember not having this game. I loved it and still play from time to time. I agree with quite a few things you stated. The cabin music really is freaking awesome. Another problem I had with Jason was not only the fact he wore purple, but the fact that he was tall and large in the cabins like in the movies, but looked like Fat Bastard from Austin Powers with a mask when you fought him outdoors. And that fat boy can MOVE! But there is one thing I disagree on, and that is the whole 50/50 chance of him hitting you or you hitting him when fighting in the cabin. When I first played it, it seemed like that. But from the sound of it, you probably didn't realize that you can dodge when fighting in the cabin. If you simple push downleft or downright, your character dodges in that direction. You just do it right before he punches. You can last all day if you wanted to. And you win by bringing Jason's health bar down to nothing. The problem is the fact that he runs away like a pansy when you hit him enough. But to reduce this, you get better weapons so you can take off more than one puny life bar per fight. The purpose of the fireplaces that you mentioned earlier is this. If you light them all with ONE character, that character will be given a note telling you can find a torch in a cabin by the lake. Find the torch, as it is the second most powerful weapon in the game. One hit will take one life bar off Jason, so you can kill him in 3-4 fights with this. But when you beat him, it isn't over. You basically start over from the beginning with the weapons and items you acquired the last game (you still lose any campers you lost). This game is harder as the zombies are faster and Jason is faster. Beat him again, and you start over one last time where Jason is ridiculously fast. Beat him again, and you win.
