The oldest song i know is; white christmas by bing crosby. My grandpa use to play that song every year on christmas when he was still alive. Everytime i listen to that song it reminds me of him.

The oldest songs I know are oldies from the 50's and on. I grew up listening to that because my parents were into that kind of music.

The oldest song I know is the Hymn to the Moon God's Wife, Nikal, currently held to be the oldest known song in the world... it was written around 1400 B.C in ancient Assyria. I wish I could find a version that actually has the singing as well.

I am also familiar with Gregorian chant from the Medieval period, the madrigal from the Italian Renaissance... as well as more well known pieces such as Green Sleeves, which was written during the Elizabethan age of Britain. After that, I am more familiar with composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, Strauss, and Chopin. Beethoven is, of course, my favorite... though thanks to working at a Titanic exhibit I will forever have Strauss' Blue Danube Waltz stuck in my head.

Then there is some later stuff, like ragtime, and then Brother Can You Spare a Dime from the Great Depression. Then it just kinda goes into more stuff from the 40s, 50s and things that people are more familiar with.

Oldest song I know is Duke Ellington's It Don't Mean a Thing. My 9th grade World History teacher is to thank for that .

Hmm...hard to say for sure in all honesty.

I would probably label some traditional Irish drinking music I listen to occasionally such as a traditional rendition of "Whiskey in the Jar" which dates back, I think, about 400-500 years.

As far as physical recordings go, but ignoring movie soundtracks, perhaps Big Joe Williams "Baby Please Don't Go" is a strong candidate.

I listen to lots of classical music. Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, etc. I can play some Mozart and Vivaldi on the piano. I'm not very good or practiced though. I just bought a new keyboard piano and am excited about it getting here.
