Nasa thinks they found a galaxy that is 13.2 billion light years away from Earth. This galaxy may not even exist anymore but we're seeing images of it forming way back then. This is impressive because the current estimate for the age of the universe is 13.7 billion years (according to the same article).... this means a galaxy had formed within the first 500 million years after the big bang. This galaxy -may- change the date of the big bang... we'll have to wait and see. Not much else to say about this. Found it interesting is all

Wow. I found this to be quite interesting and took a look at the article
Nothing is ever set in gold, like the date of the big bang, and this proves it. Picture was pretty blurry, I wonder how they even found the age of it, so I'll probably do a bit of research on how they find the age. Nice thread geeo

Holy crap, this is really interesting.
Believe it or not, I'm really into science and learning things like this. So this is a great article, geeo. Nice find.

I love stuff like this too! Haha
http://www.jwst.nasa.gov/facts.html This new telescope is supposed to be super powerful and able to see even clearer into the past: "- Search for the first galaxies or luminous objects formed after the Big Bang. - Determine how galaxies evolved from their formation until now" For anyone who doesn't get that: If something is 13.2 billion light years away, the light we are seeing is 13.2 billion years old, so we're basically seeing into the past.
