I usually can do about 11 in gym class with the radio thing that says "Up...Down...Up...Down..."
but without I still can only do 21 even though it is way easier.

Just tested it, I can do 20 without going insane, but then again I'm really tired from weight lifting to much last week. Plus just a few months ago I couldn't even do a push up.

When I was in grade school I could do almost 100. In one of the groups that I was in, though exercise was not a requirement our leader wanted us to do them every day. They were very helpful in building our strength which made everything else much easier. He did them as well and wasn't pushing anyone to do a certain amount; it was more of a time thing.

Now, I've gotten lazy along with (more importantly) other problems that don't allow me to strain (otherwise I could force myself through my more.)  I just checked and can do only 20.

My regular reps are 10 sets of 20, and if I push myself I can do 50 in one go and do reps decreasing by 10.  It's not always the same though, cause there are days (like today) where I can muster 25 push ups and it is enough for me.

If you mean in a minute I could do about 25 maybe? That's a guess because I have never tried. If you mean before I collapse in pain then probably about 45.

Wow... I can't actually do a single push up. I can get down but I can't get back up. I did damage to my sternum a while ago and didn't do the right things to get it to heal properly and I have been neglecting my arm muscles a bit. One day I'll be doing thirty. (I can dream!)

My new years resolution was to be able to do at least three push ups in a row by the end of the year so we will see if I can get there. Good on you guys and girls for being committed!

Yeah i really need to get to the gym. When i was 16/17 i was getting prepared to enter the army and could pass all the fitness requirements quite easily. I basically stopped doing exercise after i found out i have epilepsy which just destroyed my motivation for exercise.

These days i can do about 20 push ups before my arms basically collapse. Anything to do with my leg muscles like squats etc. I pretty much excel at. I mean i walk on my tiptoes and i weigh roughly 225 pounds. Considering i walk around a lot and do a lot of short sprints. My legs get a constant workout and are kinda out of proportion to the rest of my body

Only about 13. My physical conditioning has started to decrease to the point where I'm ashamed of myself somewhat.

This story seems related:

Well, I certainly applaud anyone wanting to do a hundred pushups, but take it from this old gym rat, I've spent my entire adult life in the gim, and a program like this one can do more harm than good.
If you only train one part of your body (and that's all a single exercise like pushups is going to do for you), you're setting yourself up for injuries down the road. I've seen it a hundred times.
It's like putting a powerful engine in a stock Toyota Tercel. What will you accomplish? You'll blow out the drive train, the clutch, the transmission, etc., because those factory parts aren't designed to handle the power of an engine much more powerful than the factory installed engine.
Push-ups basically only train the chest muscles and to some extent, the triceps. What you really want to do is train your entire body, all the major muscle groups (chest, back, abdomen, legs, shoulders and arms) at the same time, over the course of a workout. And don't forget your cardiovascular work!
I'm proud of you guys wanting to do this. Three cheers! Falling in love with exercise, eating right, etc., is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself. And you WILL fall in love with it if you can just force yourself to stick with it a year or two and experience the amazing progress you'll make.
But do it right, okay?
My advice, find a good gym, with qualified trainers who will design your programs for you (especially in the beginning, until you get the hang of it yourself) and guide you in your quest for physical fitness. Thirty to 45 minutes a day, three days a week, is all you'll ever need to do (I refuse to believe anyone is so busy that he or she cannot make time for that, especially considering how important it is).
And don't worry about being embarrassed or not being in shape the first time you walk into the gym. You have to start somewhere and almost every one of us were there ourselves at one time. So no one will say anything to you and very, very quickly you will progress way beyond that stage anyway.
Now get out there and do it! :-)

---------------

As a gym guy myself, I can completely confirm this.
If I see a fat person in McDonalds scarfing down a trayfull of Big Macs, I'm going to be a judgemental arsehole.
If I see a fat person on a treadmill at the gym, actually working up a sweat, I'm thinking "Good on ya, mate".

----------------

S***, I break a sweat eating a Big Mac.

-----------------

I bet i can eat 100 Big Macs

-----------------

If you can't, don't feel badly about yourself. With my special training program, anyone can eat 100 big Macs in 7 weeks

-----------------

Well, I certainly applaud anyone wanting to eat 100 big Macs, but take it from this old McDonald's rat, I've spent my entire adult life eating at McDonnald's, and a program like this one can do more harm than good.
If you only eat big Macs one part of your body (and that's all a single burger type like Big Mac is going to do for you), you're setting yourself up for injuries down the road. I've seen it a hundred times.
Big Macs basically only train the gut muscles and to some extent, the esophagus. What you really want to do is train your entire digestive system, all the major gut groups (esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, and kidneys) at the same time, over the course of a Big Mac meal. So, you will need to add large Big fries, and Large coke with it. Ask for the "Go Big" program.
I'm proud of you guys wanting to do this. Three big meals! Falling in love with eating big Macs, etc., is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself. And you WILL fall in love with it if you can just force yourself to stick with it a year or two and experience the amazing progress you'll make.
But do it right, okay?
My advice, find any McDonnald near you, with qualified burger flippers who will design your burger for you (especially in the beginning, until you get the hang of it yourself) and guide you in your quest for physical fatness. Three to 5 burgers a day, three days a week, is all you'll ever need to do (I refuse to believe anyone is so busy that he or she cannot make time for that, especially considering how important it is).
And don't worry about being embarrassed or not being out of shape the first time you walk into McDonnalds. You have to start somewhere and almost every one of us were there ourselves at one time. So no one will say anything to you and very, very quickly you will progress way beyond that stage anyway.
Now get out there and get fat! :-)

I've been going to 24HourFitness on a daily basis for the past year and a half, because I have a lifetime membership now. And I've increased my push-up count in one set from 13 to 64 without more than a 2 second planking break between reps

gameface138:  Currently, I am capable of doing 50 push-ups.  It is quite possible that I can do several more due to the fact that bench 62 pounds above my body weight which is 143 meaning I bench roughly 205lbs.

Please don't embarass me, but I can only get 3-7 push ups. I am only 12, 12 year olds are supposed to get 10-15 push ups, but I only get 3-7 push ups. I am not fat at all! Also, I am at my healthy weight, so I don't know how I can only get 3-7 push ups, probably because my muscles are a little weak.

Well I don't do them a lot, but my highest amount was 65, and every other day, I'll perform 55-60 push-ups.

Due to how long I was in Football, Basketball, Soccer, and Track, along with a "Summer Camp" Which was boot camp over the summer, which I graduated from last summer, I can do 130 Push-ups non-stop. I can bench press 200lbs, and I weight 140lbs. I have had a weird childhood, I know ^__^;. But it's all worth it to me due to what I will be going into after High School. I will be going into the Army Rangers branch of the Military. I try to keep top shape, doing 100 push-ups a day, with 5 hours in between each set of 25. I do 200 sit-ups a day, and bench press twice a day for 30 minutes. I go to the YMCA over where I live and I swim 20 laps every Thursday, then enjoy some No Rules football with my buddy's on Friday's, Monday's, and Wednesday's. I try to stay active, and I only play about 4 hours of video games everyday.
