I'm going to have to agree with spectergaj. Waiting too long could yield someone else asking her. I know I used to get real nervous asking girls out, but once you lose too many opportunities and realize the worst thing that can happen is she says "no" and it's not the end of the world, it gets easier. I guess the main point here is just go for it.

slogan3 : actually someone else asking her out is not a problem. shes actually not that popular, mostly because she isn't that "in" to boys. Most girls in my school are OBSESSED with boys. she is not. also i dont really want to jump to conclusions. i have had a lot of failed attempts with other girls in the past.

Ahh, the nuances of school popularity. I never really did understand the whole thing. It all dissolves after high school anyway. But the best advice I can give is just to try to read if she sending you signals or not. It is more or less something that you really have to tune yourself into. Small touches and smiles and eye contact and such. Of course I am a dude, and a girl would probably be better able to give you advice. Girls are ,after all, one of the most confusing and, yet, amazing things (not trying to say they are items) I've ever come across.
