Final Fantasy Tactics: A2 was released a couple of years ago. Although most of the games (1-6) that were remade are only remakes, they are well done. The DS versions use a completely different graphics system then the originals.

Final Fantasy XII is good if you ignore the story. It's hard for me to get into, but when you look at the gameplay, you can really see what they were going for. Seems like they wanted a game that was more gameplay and less talk.
