There are many great games out there for the PC. I believ one deserves supremecy though above all the rest i mean system branching games dominate the PC but 9 times outta 10 the PC version is the best because of the much advanced controls. So please post Your thoughts on the greatest games ever on PC and after some good suggestions are posted i will open a poll.

So i will start off by arguing beyond good and evil it has a great storyline and gameplay. It is a system branching game but it far beyond any other versions

It depends. Do mean the best PC game series or the best single game. Series I personally like Fallout. Though best single game which I am sure a bunch of people will argue. But the numbers show that no other game compares or has compared is World of Warcraft. I use to pay alot but don't like it anymore. Though no other game has the numbers World of Warcraft.

I think Sim City should be up there. It pretty much gave the world "sandbox mode" and has altered the gaming industry by a wide margin.

The Anno serie is the one I play most. It hard and as you get better you can take a harder task. Civilazation, Caesar and Sim City are good also.

I'll cast my vote for KOTOR I & II. They're both really good games(DIE KREIA! DIE!!!). It was interesting to see how the light/dark side of the force would affect the way your character looked.

I loved me some Half Life 2. While i don't like the specific shooting (bullet weight never felt right), the way that you progressed through the story , the pace, the characters, and the physics were all great.

I like Fallout 3 PC and Final Fantasy PC because those are a few of the games people can mod to make it even more fun than it already is.

My vote goes to Half-Life 2.

Valve really designed the game to immerse the player within the game's universe. The lack of cutscenes or FMVs really helps alot to establish this and makes the game really unique. This combined with the physics engine makes this easily the best singleplayer computer game I've ever played.

Probably Starcraft. Also, Civ games were pretty revolutionary. WOW is pretty important, although it was successful mostly because of timing and broadness, not graphics. Blizzard would have my vote if it was a contest for best PC game devolper, with Maxis coming in a close second.

When I see thread like these, I personally always feel that everyone should go for one of the classics. One of the simple arcade games that stood at the beginning of gaming, and are still going strong today. Think Tetris, Space Invaders, Missile Command (to a lesser degree)...

My vote goes for Snake. The majority of people with a mobile phone I assume still play this game. I never get tired of it, I strongly doubt it will ever disappear and everybody knows it. And of course its available for every gaming platform imaginable, including the PC.

My vote goes to the Elderscroll series if I can announce a series as best, if I must pick a single game I... I... I can´t decide between Morrowind and Oblivion, most hardcore TES fans will say "Morrowind!" but the dice-roll system for hits is actually a curse in the disguise of a blessing, most players will miss quite a bit as melee and finally when you start to hit well you will be so strong you kill stuff in one hit, so the fighting goes from

"AAAAARRRRRGGGHHH HIT HIT HIT!!! *breaks mouse smashing the left mouse button*"

to

"WHEEE let´s play whack a mole jump around and *hit* and *hit* and down they go "

While in Oblivion the jumps are smaller in terms of power, and you actually hit the enemy when you see your sword go through it.

WoW is popular because of the skinner box effect, those familiar with it will see the connection (BTW yes I´ve plaid WoW for 5 years and had great fun, but the community is dead and I don´t have the time I had before to play. I will still play Cataclysm but only through the quests and such, I´ll never play again with the mindset that I am going to do endgame content, endgame is just a skinner box in disguise (as most skinner boxes are)).

Golly, that's a tough one. I don't think there is a single "best" computer game out there, but I like the puzzle games such as Collapse. I'm a big fan of Tetris Party on Facebook. Some people on there seem to cheat, though. I don't see how they could post their high times without cheating.

Ill go a little off course and then get to my answer...

What makes a PC game stand out above the rest is full utilisation of a pc's capabilities. Around the 1995-2002 mark consoles were limited to the socialisation side of gaming whereas it was becomming vastly popular on the PC. Consoles were always one step behind in graphics aswell. Nowdays its very difficult to create a PC game that stands out among the rest, even FPS titles are popular on consoles.

So getting down to my point, to name the best PC game of all time is such a difficult task, keeping in mind the history of PC games and how unique they used to be.

So therefore Im going to pick what I beleive is the best modern, and classic pc game.

The best Modern PC game (IMO) is Call of Duty - Modern Warfare. I know, its available on console aswell, but I beleive to truely immerse yourself in the game, you have to play it on PC
*runner up being Call of Juarez.

The best classic PC game (IMO) is Half-life
*runner up being Elder Scrolls Morrowind

Sorry if I seemed to dribble a bit on the subject.
