Roll Chan 4 is a hack of Mega Man 4 for the NES. The only difference is instead of playing as Mega Man you are playing his sister Roll. The game begins with the story except it has been changed from the original MM4 to fit this hack. Basically, Wily stole 6 robot masters. Mega Man and Roll were created to fighting robots to stop Dr. Wily. Roll shattered Wily's plans 3 times but a new threat arises. Roll heads out to stop the new threat and see who is really pulling the strings. Start the game and you will be taken to the 8 robot masters. You can use whatever order you want too. However, I use this order but that is just me. Toad Man, Bright Man, Pharaoh Man, Ring Man, Dust Man, Dive Man, Skull Man, and Drill Man. Toad Man's Stage This stage starts off with wind driven rain. Be sure to time your jumps carefully as the rain will push you. Take out the enemies. You can use charge shots to take out more enemies. Make your way to the right. Follow the path downward just watch out for the pits. Eventually, you will meet a snail enemy. Shoot the eyes of the snail robot to take it out. Then head right. Once again watch out for the water, enemies, and pits. Eventually you will meet the second snail deal with it like you did before. Eventually you will meet Toad Man. Toad Man jumps a lot there is two easy ways to win this battle. First shoot him let him jump and shoot him again. This locks him into a pattern. Second shoot, charge your shot then shoot him again. He goes down quickly then you will get the rain flush weapon. Bright Man's Stage Head to the right, you will see a bulb like enemy shoot it. Then you see a fire fly enemy if you shoot it but the lights will go just shoot the bulb like enemy to get the lights back on. Head right and avoid the pits then climb the ladder. Head right go down a secret room use the platforms to get across. Collect an E tank if you want it. You will need to use the rush coil to get back. Clime the ladder and head back up go right. Shoot the Totum poll on the spikes. Use the grass hopper enemy to get across the spikes and head right. Then climb another ladder. You will then have to go across spikes again using the grass hopper. Go up the ladder use the platforms to get across. Watch out for the flying enemies. Bright Man- Bright Man likes to use cheap shots with his flash stopper. Use rain flush to keep him from using that. He goes down with rain flush. Pharaoh Man Stage's This stage deals with a lot of sand. Also you have bug enemies that shoot you from the air. Do not stay in the sand that long as you will sink to the bottom and die. Watch out for the enemies that pop up out of the sand. You will come to a gap. You can continue down the gap or you can use the rush coil to get across. Use the rush coil to get an item I want to think its the balloon weapon. You will then be taken to the half way point. Use the platforms to go across the spikes (you will need to jump before the platforms hit a wall as they will vanish ) also watch out for the mummy enemies. Just keep repeating this to you get to the boss's door. Pharaoh Man- Ugh this guy is a pain without his weakness. Do not fight him unless you have his weakness. This guy is fast and has powerful attacks. Use the flash stopper to stun him and keep firing at him. Its best to hit him with the flash stopper when he is on the ground instead of jumping. If you hit him with it while he is in the air he will freeze in the air making it harder to hit. Your reward for being him Pharaoh Shot. This weapon can be charged. Ring Man's stage This Stage can be a pain due to the mini bosses and enemy placement. You will notice ladders with rainbow like platforms on them. Clime the latter if you step on a rainbow platform it will vanish but it will come back. I find it best to take out the cannon enemies on the side. Also the ring like enemies can be a pain so get rid of them quickly. Your reward for reaching the top a battle with a hippo. The hippo will shoot homing missiles at you. The best way to deal with this guy is to shot the platforms underneath him to lower him then shot him fast. You will then head right, watch out for more platforms that vanish and avoid the air and ground enemies. Go down into the gap to meet the second mini boss. This Mini Boss can only be hit when he throws his rings out. After he throws his rings at you do your best to dodge and hit the enemy with charged shots. The rest of the stage deals with vanishing platforms, air and ground enemies. You will have to the the hippo and ring enemy again. In the last section you will see a ladder climb up the ladder and Eddie will give you an item. Ring Man- Ring Man is fast but Pharaoh shot makes quick work of this guy. I like to charge the pharaoh shot and hit him quickly as this drains a good chunk of his energy. Then you can use regular pharaoh shots for a quick win. Your reward the ring boomerang weapon. Dust Man's stage The first part of this stage is simple head right but watch out for the pits. Also enemies now pop up out of the pits so watch out for that. Make your way down to the next room. Now for this room get rid of the bug copter enemies quickly as they will follow you and try to flog you. Also use the appearing box platforms to get across the spikes. Then climb the ladder upward. The next part is very frantic. The crushing room is what this stage is infamous for. The platforms above will move down to the surface to try to smash you. In addition, you need to clear the blocks under them to advance. My advice here is take it slow shoot a few blocks slide back into a safe spot and repeat. Do not try to go fast here as you will get crushed. Take it slow and easy and advanced. Then head down and back up. Watch out for the met on the spikes as this met likes to spin around. Dust Man' Dust Man can be frantic if your not paying attention. He likes to jump and fire his dust crusher. When he is on the ground use charged shots or his weakness ring boomerang. Your reward is the powerful dust crusher weapon. Dive Man's Stage This stage takes place under water for the most part. First avoid the spikes as those are instant death. Second, the mines will explode if you get close to them. Take out the enemies in this stage quickly then head right. Eventually you will meet the first whale boss. You can use dust crusher on him but save that for Dive Man or charged shots. Head right take out the enemies and avoid the spikes/mines. Fight the second whale like you did before. You will notice a pathway at the bottom of the room go down it and avoid the death spikes to get the wire weapon. You will be taken back to the midway point just deal with the wales like you did before. The final two rooms have spikes that move up or down. Time your jumps carefully to avoid getting poked to death. Also the red balls get close to them to trigger them to explode and go backwards before they explode. Dive Man- Dive Man can be a handful. He loves to launch himself like a torpedo at you as well as fire his dive missiles. Use dust crusher on him as that does damage. His main weakness is skull barrier. But I don't like to use skull barrier because you have to get close to Dive Man to use it and that can cause you to get hit. You will get the Dive Missile after defeating him. Skull Man's Stage Ugh this stage is long and full of mazes with different paths. Anyway follow the trail in the first room and then head up the ladder. Make your way to the right in the next room. If you want to get off in the side room there is an e-tank there if you want it. Other wise keep heading up. You will then see the skull enemies. To get rid of them quickly use charged shots as that takes them out. Avoid the pits and continue. In another room you will see several paths watch out as enemies will drop from the ceiling. There is an energy tank there if you want it. Getting the second energy tank is risky because you have to do a balloon or rush coil jump carefully. Its so easy to miss and fall into the pit. The final room the background will turn orange just deal with the skull enemies like you did before to advanced. Skull Man- The best way to deal with this guy is from a distance. Shoot him with Dust Crusher for a quick win. I do not recommend fighting Skull Man in close range because that will cause you to get hit. Your weapon you get is skull barrier. Drill Man This stage takes place in a mine and there is a lot going on here. The first few rooms deal with enemies that will try to charge or shoot you. Deal with these by using charged shots. Also avoid the death spikes as there is a lot of them in this stage. The next room has a lot of mets and bug copter enemies once again deal with these guys quickly. The next room has a lot of bats and spikes so watch out for that. The next few rooms will have falling boulders and enemies that when they land on the rock turn into cannons. You will also need to flip switches to make ground/plat forms appear. Do this and repeat how you got through the stage at this point then you can advanced. Drill Man- This fight can be frantic because drill man likes to burrow in the ground a lot. Also he fires his drill bombs in a rapid manner. The best way to deal with him is to use dive missile against him. The dive missile will hit him doing damage. Dodge his attacks the best way you can and hit him with his weakness. He will go down and you will get the drill bomb weapon. Cossack Stage I The first room takes place in a winter wonderland. Deal with the enemies in the snow and on the platforms to advanced. Watch out for the pits as enemies will sometimes pop out of them. Then climb the ladder. Take out the rolling enemies and continue to head upward. The next part of the room the platforms are frozen if you start to slide jump to gain traction, and watch out for pit enemies. The next part involves climbing the long ladder upwards. You will need to use the balloon weapon to get to other ladders. Use the balloon weapon to get to the next ladder. Note some ladders with have enemies that will try to knock you off the ladder and send you back down so watch out for that. Moth Boss- Use charged shots to hit the gem or ring boomerang. This boss is most dangerous because it will destroy the floor and create pits. Take it down quickly Cossack Stage II This stage starts off with several paths. You want to go upward to the next room. The next room has a lot of spikes across it. You will need to use Rush Jet to get safely across. Then head upward on the ladders. You will notice square platforms. These platforms will go from smooth to jagged. How the arrow is pointing on the platform will determine were the jagged edges will appear. You can also use the balloon weapon to get up to the next ladder as well. The rest of this stage is just avoiding the spikes and climbing up nothing to it. Box Boss- To hurt this boss you need to get inside of it right before it comes together to make a box. Use charge shots in the gem once inside for a quick victory. Cossack Stage III This stage is very short however the screen scrolls and you have to advance right. Do not panic here just advance right avoid the pit enemies and falling into the pits and you will be okay. Just follow the path and there is nothing to it. Crawler Boss- This boss is easy with Pharaoh shot remember you can hold Pharaoh shot above your head while charging it up. Use this to your advantage for a quick win. Cossack Stage IV Another short stage. Make your way down and follow the path. Watch out for spikes and enemies. Cossack- Cossack will try to shoot plasma shots at you. His most dangerous attack is when he tries to grab you. If he starts to do this dash away quickly. Hit him with charged shots and dodge his attacks. Then we get a plot twist. Proto Man will appear with Kalinka and explain how Wily forced Cossack to work for him by holding her hostage. Mega Man will show up and give Roll the info to get to Wily's base. Roll forgives Cossack for any wrong doing since its revealed Wily was the main villain. Wily will be angry and say he is going to break Roll. Wily Stage One This stage is short there is a lot of Mets to deal with in this stage keep following the path. In the next room you will see spikes and more mets. You will then go under water. There are swimming mets here to deal with and death spikes to avoid. Head up the ladder take out more mets then its boss time. Giant Met- This fight is against a giant Met. When this met hits the ground jumps before it lands as it can stun you. To win this fight quickly used charged shots, ring or dust weapons and he goes down quickly. Wily Stage II This stage starts off with like a maze just follow the path. However, this stage has more death spikes than the previous stage so watch were you jump. Also there is lots of pits in this stage as well. The rest is climbing ladders and avoiding spikes. Boss- Flame boss To hurt this boss you need to get on the two platforms. Once on the platform aim for the boss'es gem as that is this boss's weak point. Charged shots are effective here. But watch out for the stream of fire the boss will shoot to try to knock you off the platform. Wily Stage III This is just a rematch with the 8 robot masters. Deal with them like you did before. Wily Machine- You want to get close but not too close. The machine fires large plasma balls. There is a spot that if you can get close the shots have a less chance of hitting you. Use that to your advantage and use charged shots against the Wily Machine. Wily Stage IV Head down the path but you can collect weapon refill capsules along the way. Wily uses his wily capsule a lot in this battle. To make things more difficult the back screen is black. Use Pharaoh shot with it charged on the top of roll's head to win this fight. Eventually Wily will go down. Congratulations you have beaten the game. Wily escapes, Dr. Cossack gets pardoned and Roll heads home.
