There have been a lot of bots hitting the site lately, which is why the site has been really slow and going down a lot. I've been trying different things over the past few weeks but none of those things have worked. So I decided to investigate deeper into what the bots are viewing.

I'm pretty sure what a lot of the bots are viewing, which are slowing down the site, are the sub pages of screenshot pages (for example, like this. The deeper the pages go, the more strain it puts on the server. So what I did was I made it so that for guests, they can't view any pages beyond 100. Most of the guests were viewing pages beyond 1000 and sometimes even 10,000.

In the past I disabled screenshots on game pages for guests because I found that was slowing down the site. But now I think it maybe was just the deep sub pages of those screenshots so I've re-enabled screenshots on game pages for guests temporarily to see how that goes.

Anyways, let me know if anyone notices an improvement on the site.

I see no improvement whatsoever. Site has gone down like four times already in barely 10 minutes, and when it happens in the middle of a post you lose whatever you were typing until the site self-refreshes some seconds after being back up online.

At first I thought it's because around this time of the day Vizzed tends to have a maintenance update, but the fact it lasts for a brief while only debunks that theory. Maintenance would display a much different message and it would be long lasting and present in all pages.

I'm not online at these hours during the week because of work so obviously it's nothing happening at specific times of the day either. Thought this could also help in troubleshooting the issues.

yeah I'm not sure anything has been fixed I still see the server maintenance and/or strain message once in awhile I'm starting to wonder if it will calm down once Tour time is finished. I wish they would stop I do song ratings and somehow it keeps scrambling the list of the songs on the page I'm on

I haven't seen the site go down in quite a while, I mean, once in a while the green text will go dark green and show videos, but then it'll go back after 30 seconds, usually when I post.

I've noticed that things are a lot better than they had been, but it's still happened to me a few times since you posted this thread. I was wondering why that kept happening, so I appreciate you explaining what's going on with this issue.
