Its July the 4th and since a lot of cities will be shooting fireworks. I decided to do a biography on one of the friendly bomb-ombs that is a friend to the Mario Brothers. That character's name is Bombette. Bombette first appeared in Super Mario where she assisted Mario in his quest to defeat Bowser. Anyway, lets learn about her.


Not much is known about her background. However, she does offer some clues during the events of Super Paper Mario. She states that her and fellow bomb-ombs used to work at the Koopa Brother fortress. She tells Mario and his other partners that the Koopa Brothers did not used to be bad. But ever since Bowser choose them to guard a star spirit they got power crazy. Therefore, it is likely her and her bomb-ombs took care of the castle.

After, the Koopa Brothers where granted powers by Boswer they started to work the bomb-ombs and treat them badly. Bombette lead a rebellion and tried to ignite beside one of the Koopa Brothers. Instead she destroyed the Koopa Brothers project they where building to attack Mario with. She and her fellow bomb-ombs where thrown into the dungeon at the very bottom of the castle. The Koopa Brothers had placed heavy guards around their cells in case they tried to escape they would be put back into their cell.

After Mario falls into one of the Koopa Brothers trap he meets Bombette. She explains to Mario and the friends he has with them about what has happened. Mario agrees to take her on his quest. She demonstrates her ability by blowing up a crack in the wall. This not only frees her but her friends. She joins Mario in defeating the guardians and as a result frees her friends.

After defeating the Koopa Brothers she joins Marios other friends and helps him defeat Bowser. She is later seen being invited to Peach's party for the heroes. This establishes herself as an ally to not just Mario but his other friends as well. She has made appearances in future Mario games as well.


Appearance- Bombette is a pink bomb-omb with a short fuse. She has orange or brown feet depending on the version of the game. Like most bomb-ombs she has a wind up attached to her back. Like most bomb-ombs she is very short.

Personality- Bombette is a cheerful character. She has a kind personality and goes out of her way to help those she cares about. On the other hand, when she is pushed she has a temper. She does not like to be pushed around. Moreover, she also has leadership abilities. This is shown when she lead a revolt against the Koopa Brothers. She does not hesitate to use force when it is needed or when she thinks her friends are in danger. Furthermore, given how she did not hesitate when Mario asked her to accompany him on his quest, she shows she has a strong sense of adventure. Thus, she most likely likes to go on adventures.

In other stories it is shown she may hold grudges for a while. When somebody did her wrong she said they would have to apologize more before she would forget and give a second chance.

Abilities- Bombette is a powerful ally. She can ignite and blow up enemies, and blow up passages to secret areas. In addition, she can create powerful slam attacks. After she ignites and blows up she is not harmed. She can ignite as many times as she wants too. In addition, she can also control the power of her explosions.

Attacks- Her attacks are powerful and this is what also makes her useful to Marion and his friends. She can cause the first strike by blowing up next to an enemy. In battle she can walk up to the enemy to create a bigger blast. Another one of her attacks is her bomb slam. She will jump and then do an attack similar to Yoshi's ground pound attack on the enemy. Her attacks can be charged up to create more damage.

Relationships This are the characters she is friends with.

Mario- She is eager to help Mario in his request and rescue Princess Peach. Even after the Koopa Brothers are defeated she does not hesitate to continue.

Luigi- She has a friendly conversation with Luigi and states so you are Mario's other famous brother.

Peach- Bombette looks up to Peach and considers Peach a good person. She is also eager to help rescue Peach.

Lady Bow, Parakarry, Kooper, Goombario, Watt and other allies. She gets long well with them and considers them her close friends.

Enemies-

Koopa Brothers- Originally she had a good relationship with the brothers that was until Bowser chose them to hide a star spirit. They mistreated her and her friends. She does not like them and states she has a score to settle. The brothers also sent her friends to the dungeon.

Jr. Troopa- She constantly insults the young troopa. Given how he works for Bowser she is hostile toward him.

Bowser- Given how Bowser instructed the Koopa Brothers wnat to do and gave them extra power. She states she also wants to help put an end to Bowser's new scheme.

Overall, Bombette is an important ally to Mario and his friends. She helped Mario defeat Bowser in Paper Mario. She likes going on adventures. In some versions of the game she states she hopes she gets to go on more adventures. As I stated she likes to help her friends out. However, whoa into those that push her or do her allies harm.

While she appears in future games Paper Mario is her main game. Still Nintendo must considered her an important character. Nintendo recognized Bombette, Peach, Pom-Pom, Lady Bow, Daisy, Kammy-Koopa, and Wendy Koopa as important female characters in the Mario franchise.
