I admit I recently haven't been so active and all, working on a lot of commission art and such, though would like to tell you all I've been watching One Piece while doing some of it and I kinda got myself hooked in, I'm going to be honest haha. Currently made my way to about Episode 150 and I'm kinda scared that I'm going to lose interest in the series eventually cause as good as it is right now... I know the series is going to get really bad about it's pacing. Hope to god I can make it through lmao

I wouldn’t worry much about the pacing. Sure it gets a little dull here and there but the difference between One Piece and other anime is how the world is actively evolving outside the main story line and how complex it’s becoming as time goes on. Only true US fans know about the One Piece rap

I think One Piece is the one anime I will never get into. I like to watch when they are doing airing completely and it looks like it will never end. The fact there is over a thousand episodes I feel as if I am going to be watching it for the next couple years. I can watch maybe 3-5 episodes during the weekdays. (Weekends maybe 5-10 more depending on how busy I get.)

One Piece begins to slow down immensely past around episode 400 or so. I would recommend switching to the Manga or trying to find the fan edit "One Pace" from there. They seem to have figured out how to stretch one chapter into like two episodes of mostly filler but still put enough canon into the episode that filler list sites say you need to watch it. A real bummer.

However, as someone who read the Manga. The last few arcs are the best in the series, and you haven't even gotten to the good arcs yet.

pokemon x: In fairness, One Piece is a lot more huge and overwhelming then people make it out to be. They tend to state that people watch tons of other long running anime or just many seasons of other shows and are yet not willing to give One Piece a chance since it's pretty long, but it is a time commitment.

pennylessz: I'll more then likely probably give those Fan Edits a shot. I remember when I was getting into Naruto again I personally went out of my way to find one that got rid of the Filler Content that I didn't have any interest for and I really enjoyed it. Basically that's how I first got into Naruto Shippuden myself. It's just too hard to get into Shippuden after a certain point just cause it's filler is so heavy when in Naruto you can mostly skip everything.

Honestly there are certain points in/or certain arcs where you can easily take a break and come back to it later. Especially where you are now, you are in one of the first longest and slowest arcs. Until you get to the Bell arc which is god awful. Every time I finish an arc I usually take a month-long break or something just to take my brain off One Piece for a minute, or watch a couple fillers and the new intro of the new arc. Since they like to throw in mini-arcs for fun to give you a mental break. Trust me while One Piece is definitely one of the best stories out there it definitely takes its time telling the story especially if you're watching the anime. I love it dearly and honestly though the manga would be quicker to read Id rather watch it LOL because it's also just so quirky and fun

Even started the wano arc when they started to have the fights but haven’t missed an episode since. Though, I should really try to start rewatching the episodes and watch the ones I missed. I’ll force myself to listen the one piece rap after each episode if I have to.

zanderlex: I've been meaning to watch the movies themselves since they seem pretty good. A lot of the ones from what I've heard from my sister are a lot easier to digest, though could be due to the fact that they are in a movie format and you don't have to invest too much time into it to get a good story out of whatever it is.
