(Please note this is not recent, This actually happened around the middle of August. I was meant to post this after I recovered but I was pre occupied with other things, such as work, errands, life, etc.)

Yes, I got covid, and I can't really believe it myself. So how did I get it? To be honest it was because of my brother. He was actually staying at my parents house for about a month because of issues with his girlfriend. So it was right around the middle of August. For some reason I was having the usual fever symptoms. This lasted for about two days or so. That subsided and I noticed I wasnt breathing very well. After I was having trouble walking up and down the stairs as I would get worn out very easily. So at this point I knew something was up. My mother took me and my brother to a covid testing in another town not far from we live. we both got are nosed swabbed which was really unpleasant lol. Then we got the results and my brother and I tested positive. I literally freaked out and couldn't stop crying when we got back home. When we got back I noticed food was starting to taste disgusting and very weird. Then my breathing started to get worse to the point where I was literally gasping for air. The next day my Stepfather took me to the emergency room where I was admitted there. They gave me some antibiotics whiched help. It was decided that I had to go to the hospital where I got my heart transplant to get treated there. So at this point they started to treat me with some medication which I forgot what it was called and steroids. Gradually my breathing started to get better, but I was still feeling weak. During the second day of my hospital admission, My mother started to have problems and she needed to go to the hospital. So we were both being treated in seperate hospitals. I was admitted for about a week, while my mother got out around 4 days. I got around sunday I think, and quickly called my mother to see if she was ok,(yes she's fully recovered). We talked for about 15 minutes. She got home after two days after me and the doctors suggested take oxygen tank, which she only used about 2 or 3 times in a matter of 3 days. We gradually got better as time went by. It's November (as of this post) and I feel like myself again. This was without a doubt the worst sickness I have ever had in years. the worst time before this was before my heart transplant in 2003. Thanks for reading.

This sounds absolutely horrendous, and i'm really happy to hear you're feeling better!! I know somebody else who got covid, who's a non-smoker and about as straight edge as you can get, and she felt it similar to what you described. I'm a smoker so the thought of a respiratory illness scares the daylights out of me.
