I would have posted this alot sooner but I wanted to do a replay before I did anything, but I ran into a problem no one wants to run into, all of a sudden the game would start glitching and freezing once I reached the 1K question point rendering the game unresponsive, something I also noticed in my virtual boxes is that the time was behind the outside time, and this could cause me a big problem once I do my big trivia marathon for the end of the season playing because I want to play all three of them at once when the time comes. The first game never used to glitch on me this is unfair, I hate it when unprecedented problems effect my gaming schedule. I don't know if this has to do with updates to the box or anything.
Gameplay and story: There is no story, just trivia you gotta answer your way up to a million dollars.
Graphics: Kind of the same as the game show.
Soundtrack: Also same as the game show, and believe it or not you also hear the music when you are installing the game.
Addictive: eh it's addictive enough considering that it's a pc version of a gameshow that everyone was addicted to watching back in the day, I mean when was the last time a game show took the world by storm? I guess the last time was Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader and that was almost 15 years ago, I mean a current prime time game show I'm currently watching is The Chase where we see three ordinary people go up against the Jeopardy GOATS (plus Mark from the UK version of the show) I have watched Kimmel Millionaire because well there wasn't much to watch during the pandemic and I don't have a streaming service.
Depth: This game has the usual stuff you would see on the game show, the fast fingers, the lifelines, the annoying stalling Regis would do after the contestant says "Final Answer" (even without the glitch) Also this and the second edition were also made by jellyvision they were responsible for You Don't Know Jack.
Difficulty: Of course the difficulty would depend on which dollar level you are at usually the questions under 1000 are the easiest but they also have a joke choice. But I've never made it to the million dollar question, because sometimes I don't like having to use Google for everything.
Post review follow-up: Well if it wasn't for the problems with the game I would've brought up the fact that I got this game from the cereal box days but that really put a damper on things, Maybe I'll just unintsall and reinstall them all, but the changing box really has wrecked everything, my 98 virutal machine never needs updating. For now I will try 2nd edition because I still plan on playing that.
This concludes my review, join me tomorrow when I review.....Nancy Drew the Curse of Blackmoor manor. I guess I had better do a little bit of homework.
