As of right now, anything goes, but isn't this a MAME? yes but technically I never played this during a vacation so......technically I can do this right here right now. There are alot of things that are different from the coin-op version than the home release, I should start with the story.

Gameplay and Story: The game begins with a dude with crutches and the bad guys finish him off, and the character we selected approaches the soldier by name....which is Alex. Oh I always though that this was Sega's subtle way of saying that they weren't going to make any more Alex Kidd games, guess I was wrong (though during the demo stuff we find out that the characters we select have lost more than Alex, the dwarf lost his brother, the dude with the sword lost his mother, and the female warrior...yeah sorry I forgot everyone's names, lost her parents to Death Adder). So with their weapons they fight these soldiers, ride dragons, go after thieves that have magic pots and food to extend your life bar, and save the king and princess.

Graphics: Well there is a slight difference here, the eagle and the turtle? their eyes move now and not much else.

Sound: well to be honest, it's not much to write home about it's a bit longer though.

Addictive: Well it's hard to be addicted to a game that doesn't last very long.

Depth: Well unfortunately this game is shorter than the home release versions, we don't get a final battle with whoever Death Adder was taking orders from, after we save the king and the princess we go back to the map and it says Fin, and then we go to a cut scene where we see a bunch of kids playing the game and all the characters pop up and they go around the city. Oh I almost forgot we see alot more of the bad people we're supposed to fight beating up innocent civilians.

Difficulty: The one thing I do hate about coin-op games is that it doesn't come with the options that the home release would have, and by that I mean strengthening my lifeline, thank god coin-ops allow for more chances.

Post-review follow up: Well this was fun to play at least, but I had to play this on a different site because the MAME won't work on RetroArch and the JS Emulator is having a loading issue right now. I wish I knew if any of the other games I owned were also Coin Ops since I've enjoyed playing the coin-op versions as well wish I could play Streets of Rage for coin-op though. I'll give it a good score but it loses a point in the overall rating because it's short

I never knew the coin-op version is shorter than the home release versions. I find that weird, usually the arcade versions are the superior (in the case of beat 'em ups at least) not the other way around.
