What was your first Pokemon game? What do you remember about playing it? For me my first Pokemon game was Pokemon Y and my starter was Froakie the first Pokemon I ever caught was Pikachu which I didn't evolve and it sucked I remember time and time again thinking it's all up to you Pikachu and then watching it getting one shot. I also had Talonflame who was pretty cool looking, as well as Tyrantrum who was terrible. For the Kanto starter I took Charizard meaning I had 2 fire flying types.... I was the best first time player. I also used Mega Lucario quite a bit which was pretty fun.

My first pokemon game was pokemon X, I really enjoyed the game but I must admit that it wasn't a very hard game so I never really felt challenged at all while playing it, for me the main enjoyment was just the journey itself that meant something to me. I chose fennekin as my starter and besides from trying out the other two one day to see what its like, I will probably chose it at every given opportunity even now.

As one of the (relatively) old jags around here, my first Pokemon game belonged to the very first Generation. I don't recall if I had Red or Blue at one time, but I do know I owned and extensively played Pokemon Yellow.

Things were very different back then. A portable console relaying on AAA batteries, which at first was big enough to not fit in your hand or pocket and which was still in black and white. It's really hard to believe this was by the end of the 90s, time surely flies.

My starter was obviously Pikachu, because game-scripted, but I don't have many more memories. I actually had other games for my Game Boy which caught more interest, I even played more Pokemon Pinball than the core game. Still, I'm sure I beat it at some point, be it on the original console I inherited or my rightfully owned Color, but without the knowledge I have today I wonder what team little me could have.

I started with Pokemon Gold and it's still my favorite Pokemon game of all time. I still remember the store that I bought it from years ago and I remember playing it until the very end and then restarting it to play all over again multiple times. That's how much fun I had with Gold.

I actually recently ordered a GBA and I plan to buy Gold again soon even though I already have a digital copy.
