I promised in my last review that my next review will be of a much more suggestive game, so, Here I am, writing a review of Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation, it's a long name, I know, I'm going to call this game Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2. Why am I writing a review of this game? Well, more than anything else, it's my way of celebrating 5 years since the release of this game in the American continent, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 was released in the American continent exactly 5 years ago, on January 27, 2015, and as I said, this is my way of celebrating that. I know that this is some kind of exception, but I really couldn't resist for now, I mean, as you probably know, I write reviews of games that did not have a review until I wrote one, in a way, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 already has a review on this site, legacyme3 already wrote a review of Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 for this site, and as you probably know, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 is, in one way or another, a PS Vita version of Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2. Because of that, this is some kind of exception, in any case, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 is great material when it comes to games with fanservice, the cover art is one of the most suggestive covers I've ever seen in a T rated game, Black Sister is wearing her bikini outfit or something like that, and I think you can even see her butt crack, somehow... IFI certainly got away with it, even so, the game isn't very different when it comes to content compared to Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, and one could say that Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 is another game that pushes the T rating to its limits, even more so than other games in the franchise at times, not only we have one of the darkest stories in the franchise, we also have frequent swearing which includes words starting with S and B, and, of course, we also have the typical fanservice of the franchise, and this game doesn't hold back at times, should this game be rated M like the original version? I don't know, maybe yes, maybe not. Let's begin.

Story: As I said, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 has one of the darkest stories in the franchise, and even though I prefer lighthearted stories, I really like the story somehow. The game begins with the CPUs fighting against a female character, CFW Magic, they are defeated in combat and 3 years later, IF and Compa arrive at the Gamindustri Graveyard, the place where the CPUs were defeated 3 years ago, to rescue the 4 CPUs and Purple Sister, they only save Nepgear/Purple Sister, however, and so, with the help of IF, Compa, RED, Uni, and other characters, Nepgear will have to return to the Gamindustri Graveyard and rescue her older sister Neptune and the other CPUs. There is also ASIC, the Arfoire Syndicate of International Crime, and the several antagonists of the game are members of ASIC, overall, it's a dark story with serious moments but also, with this being a Hyperdimension Neptunia game, there are a lot of funny moments in the game, it wouldn't be a Neptunia game without a sense of humor, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 is a funny game. I could talk more about the story, but not only we already have the review of Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 written by legacyme3, I also think that this game, like many other video games with an emphasis on story, must be played in order to be appreciated, not just the game itself, but also the story of said game.

Graphics: You know, this might or might not be my last review of a Hyperdimension Neptunia game for PS Vita, but in any case, I'm getting tired of talking about the graphics of these games, the score is always a 6 and rightfully so, the graphics are decent, and that's it... It's interesting that even for a PS Vita game these aren't the best graphics, that's a fact, and even so, the game suffers from slowdown, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 runs at a maximum framerate of 30 FPS, but there is frequent slowdown for some reason, now, unlike other 3D Games, especially games developed by Gust, for example, the slowdown never affects the experience, but... yeah, if it seems that the animations aren't that smooth or something, that's because the game suffers from slowndown often.

Sound: The soundtrack is amazing at times, of course, there is the use of recycled music, which is something I hate a little, but at least the recycled music is great, and the original themes are pretty good, ''Kirihirake Role-Play★Star Girl'' is a great Opening theme, in fact, some people say that it's the best Opening in the franchise, or at least one of the best Openings, personally, I can't decide, but at least I'm sure I like it a lot, ''Field Of View, Re;Birth2 ver.'' is probably one of the songs you'll most often hear in the game, and it's another great theme with techno, xylophone and piano, ''History of Collapse'' is a pretty good theme with organ and it sounds like imminent danger, ''Four Felons'' is an amazing boss theme... I can keep going. The English voice acting is pretty good, and this is one of the first Hyperdimension Neptunia games published by IFI, which means that Vert is voiced by Tara Platt and not Carrie Keranen, and Noire is voiced by Erin Fitzgerald and not Erica Mendez, the rest of the cast is what one would expect of the franchise, with Compa voiced by Cristina Valenzuela, IF Voiced by Kate Higgins etc. It's another Hyperdimension Neptunia with great voice acting and a great cast.

Addictive: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 has a lot of gameplay systems and mechanics that make the experience interesting and fun, the combat is probably taken from Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory and Re;Birth 1, which means that you can move around the battlefield and, depending on the character, you can attack the enemies from a distance or only if they are close to you, in the case of normal attacks at least, Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 uses a system of HP, SP, and AP, but Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 uses a more traditional but also more functional HP/SP system, of course, other games in the franchise use the same combat system. Besides the turn-based combat, complete with EXE Gauges for the more powerful attacks, you also have the Remake System, which ''allows you to unlock new items and dungeons through a variety of Plans.'' Plans are obtained frequently in the game, and you can use those plans to change and add game systems, add dungeons, develop new items that can later be bought, etc, you need to clear certain required conditions in order to activate Plans, but other than that, it's definitely an interesting and fun part of the game. I could explain more systems and mechanics, but I won't because there is a lot. Overall, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 is a fun and interesting turn-based RPG, I can understand if someone says that this is their favorite Hyperdimension Neptunia game, it's not one of my favorites just because I always prefer combat in real time... that's how I put it.

Depth: As I was saying, there is a lot when it comes to systems and mechanics, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 has a lot to do, and it's fun to unlock one thing after another with the Remake System, the multiple endings and unlockable content are things that can keep you busy for a long time, and perhaps compared to other games in the fanchise, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 is a bigger Hyperdimension Neptunia game than the other games, at least some of them. An 8 for this category might be fine.

Difficulty: It's a harder game than other games in the franchise, that's for sure, one of the first bosses in the game, Linda (called ''Underling'' throughout most of the game) is a difficult boss that... will probably make you grind a little, at least, the first time you play the game (I'm not talking about New Game+ here) she is a difficult boss to defeat, her attacks are strong and can cause a status effect of poison for some reason, it's not the only boss where I lost, some boss battles can be difficult if you aren't prepared or if your levels aren't enough...

It's not a perfect game, the graphics could be better, the slowdown doesn't affect the experience but it's there. and getting another ending can be difficult, in fact, to be honest, even though I have beaten this game twice, I have only seen the Normal Ending, in both cases, that's the ending I could see, so, getting another ending can be more difficult than in other games, depending on who you are, that might be another negative aspect. In the end, I don't think I have a lot of things to criticize about Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2, I'm giving this game a 7.2/10 just because it's a turn-based RPG and I don't like it as much as other games in the franchise, but... yeah, I have more things to criticize about Drive Girls, and still, I prefer that game and I'd rather play Drive Girls than Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2. If you are fan of turn-based RPGs, I can easily recommend this game, and if you have never played a Hyperdimension Neptunia game before, this is a good starting point, if you are interested and can still get this game physically or digitally, I'd say... go ahead.
