I was looking up movies to review and it really hit me that so many of the biggest movies are now owned, produced, or distributed by Disney.

10 years ago it was pretty rare for a movie to make $1 billion worldwide, usually it was just 1 movie a year reaching that mark and then things got out of hand in the 2010's. In 2019, nine movies crossed the $1 billion mark and 8 of them were from Disney in one way or another

1: Avengers: Endgame (2.79 Billion)
2: The Lion King (1.65 Billion)
3: Frozen II (1.4 Billion)
4: Far From Home (1.13 Billion)
5: Captain Marvel (1.12 Billion)
6: Toy Story 4 (1.07 Billion)
8: Aladdin (1.05 Billion)
9: Star Wars: TROS (1.02 Billion and counting)

That's a huge jump from previous years. In 2018 only 5 movies made $1 Billion and Infinity War was the only one to make more than $1.4 Billion.

In fact, entering 2019, only 8 movies in history made more than $1.4 Billion and yet Disney had #9-11 in 2019 alone.

Disney is now at the forefront of 16 of the 25 highest grossing movies of all time.

That is nice statistics! I'm glad Toy Story 4 (one of my favorite franchises) made $1 billion! And did you know that three of the movies of the top 10 (Frozen 2, The Lion King, Toy Story 4) are animated? I am going to say this to Disney: "Keep it up with the magical work!"

Disney was supposed to be on pace to destroy the box office again this year but who knows what's going to happen now with everything that's going on.

The New Mutants Black Widow, and Mulan were already delayed for who knows how long and if things keep up the way they hsve been, Soul and Artemis Fowl could be pushed back too.
