Speedrunning is a popular topic, especially in this day and age. Do you consider yourself a speedrunner? And for which games? Personally, I wouldn't say I'm necessarily a speedrunner, I usually like to take my time with games. However, if i was, I would choose to speedrun Sonic Adventure. I already know of many tricks and the spindash is veyr fun to use in that game considering how busted it is.

I'm very much a Speedrunner, specifically for Metroid Zero Mission, which is legit the only game I speedrun. While I'm in no way the best, I can beat the game in like 42 minutes if I am not screwing up that much.

I could never be a speed runner, because my whole thing is as an explorer, I want to take my time with every game, and see every corner of it, even if it doesn't matter.

I have a lot of admiration for what speedrunners do. I watch AGDQ, SGDQ, and Limit Break whenever they happen, and it's simply fascinating to see games being reduced to dust.

The only kinds of games that I try speedrunning now are RPG's that I'm already a fan of like Persona and Pokemon, and that's only once I beat it for the 1st time.

If it's a game or series that I don't already have history with, then I'll mostly just move on to the next game and not go back and speedrun it.

I don't think that I would be very good at speed running since I son't really have the patience to be able to continually reset runs or even with just playing the same game for hours on end for days or even weeks at times. Not to mention how even the smallest mistake could make or break the whole run.

I do really love watching speed runs though, I enjoy watching a speed run of the game that I am playing with it since I find it rather entertaining.

I run Splinter Cell Conviction from time to time and I've even done it at a couple marathon events. I have another one coming up in March. Currently I'm in 5th place on the leaderboard.

If I was going to speedrun, I'd probably speedrun Goldeneye or Doom/Doom II. I am nowhere near the level of technical skill needed in those games (Just watch people speedrun Goldeneye's Surface 2 or Runway levels,) but those are the games I like the most that are speedrun-able.

I'm not much of a speed runner myself I just don't do well under pressure and I don't find myself skilled enough to really go for anything, that being said I do enjoy watching some speed runs every once in a while.

Nope, I couldn't speed run if it was going to save my life. Sure some games I do very well at, but to try and Speed Run a game. Not gonna happen. I get why people do it, and it's pretty cool to see it done, but I like to take my time going through a game, and enjoy myself.

I used to speedrun Super Mario 64 on my Wii U, but I don't remember if I speedran any other video games. I used to speedrun the 31 star and 120 star categories. I still play that game often, but I don't consider myself a speedrunner. I usually just pick certain stars to play fast and see how I'll do.

Now, if I got back into speedrunning again, I'd choose to speedrun Super Mario Bros as well as picking up where I left off with Super Mario 64.

Not really. I've done a few speedruns but they were more so out of necessity because of some other goal I was trying to accomplish. Like when I was going for the platinum trophy in the games Bloodborne and Zombi which you have to beat at least 3 times respectively.

If I was going to a speedrun a game start to finish it would definitely be Pokemon Crystal or the remakes HeartGold/SoulSilver. I was obsessed with them when I was younger to the point where I knew almost every tile inside out. I'm confident I could get a half decent time, at least for the first half of it before getting to the Kanto post game.

Update for my last post

I've been speedrunning Super Mario 64 again. I haven't been all professional with it with using splits to time each level. However, I've looked at the clock here and there to see how fast I'm going.

Now that summer vacation is here for me, I will hopefully keep practicing Super Mario 64 so I can see how fast I'll get! I'm much more skilled than I was when I used to speedrun it, so I bet I'll smash my previous record.

I might eventually speedrun the original Super Mario Bros. too. It'd be a fun change of pace from speedrunning 3D Mario games.

I've been thinking about speed-running some shorter games, since I certainly don't have the patience or attention span for longer games. Something like Celeste I think - even though I haven't finished it, it's short and sweet. It's also something I'm not at all good at, so it would definitely be better practice for platforming in general.

100% I have a speed-run for Hat in Time planned. I love that game, and need to show that I'm good at it.

Aside from racing people to complete a Pokemon game the quickest I haven't really had too much experience with speedruns.

Recently a friend invited me to try and speedrun Minecraft (beating the dragon ending the run) and we clocked at about 2.5 hours? Not sure how that compares to the actual times people put down, probably a horrendous run as we couldn't find enderpearls but hey still had fun.

Don't think I would ever do a speedrun for a solo game as I like to take my time and talk to NPCs

While I have been home for an insane, record high amount of time this year, I decided to briefly pick up speedrunning again. I beat my 31 star personal best for Super Mario 64, and I'm actually thinking about making a speedrun compilation for the game because I found out several of my friends love Mario games! And a couple of them have enjoyed my Mario videos in the past.

I haven't speedrun anything else this summer yet, but I sure felt like a speedrunner when I had to do the Speedy Comet stars from Super Mario Galaxy. It's amazing how much planning and skill those stars can require!
