It's a interesting time to be alive right now as there has only really been 3 presidents who have been Impeached and only 1 who has been removed from office but this might be the very worst of them all. I have never even read about this big of a blatant disrespect for the law in our countries rich history. It seems like it stems from the support from his unhinged followers who follow and praise him like he is a cult leader. I have never seen a more necessary use of our laws to remove a president in the history of our country.

What is your viewpoint of this situation?

First of all, no impeached president has ever been removed.

Secondly, I'm not entirely sure if he will be removed either. Many of the stories I read say that we're so close to the next election that it might be best to just wait it out and go to the next guy if he doesn't get re elected.

Plus Mike Pence wouldn't be that much of an improvement.

zanderlex : I just meant Nixon being given the option to walk away BEFORE he was removed,it was a technicality.

Pence would not be an improvement but at least he is a legit Christian and not a philandering scumbag who the prosperity gospel preachers act like is the 2nd coming of jesus..meanwhile he has cheated on all 3 wives, doesnt go to church, and cheated on his current wife while pregnant with wife a porn star no less.

I have what this country is becoming under this president but I think you may be right about waiting. We will see though. I voted for Bernie in the last primary and will do it again this time.

The Senate is 100% acquitting him so I don't see the point in impeachment. He's not getting removed from office and he's not resigning.

Literally the most pointless and worst thing Democrats could be doing. Focus on gathering more grassroot support and swinging new voters instead.

Not an American so I don't know everything about living there but if I had to vote Andrew Yang would be my #1 choice because he seems to be the only one who knows wtf actually is important and needs to be done. A shame the whole Democratic party is controlled by big companies and the top 1% and will only push moderate candidates who can be their little puppets.

Yang is doing well enough in national polling to stay in the race but if he ever decided to stop running I'd vote Sanders. I don't agree with some of his policies and I doubt he's getting his M4A bill passed as it stands right now (though I do agree that America's current health care system is absolute trash, it's just not realistic to pass M4A when over half your country has been brainwashed that potentially going bankrupt any time you might have an accident is somehow better than paying a little extra tax and paying next to nothing from emergency funds should it come to that).

None of the other democrats should get anyones vote and you're just dumb if you vote for anyone other than these two progressives.

Furret : All of politics on either side is controlled by corporations. Republicans are just less obvious about it and they were the ones who passed "Citizens United" which recognizes big corporations as actual human beings.

Bernie Sanders is the closest thing we have to grassroots. Pretty much all of his donations are from regular people such as myself. I gave him 100 bucks last election and my brother and I are inheriting a small christmas tree farm and were gonna donate some more money this time too. We like his view of taxing the top% as it goes after the biz corporations and their management who have gotten fat off the hog while all of the rest of the 99% starve and live check to check.

Blacksmith84 : Yeah I like Sanders as well, just not my #1 pick if I had to vote. But realistically he's more likely to win so I would love to see America gain international respect again under a Sanders/Yang ticket.

Furret : I could get down with and Sanders Yang ticket. Both want to end the federal prohibtion on Weed so there is that too. I only speak on it as someone who has chronic pain from old football injuries and 2 back surgeries and right now the state level medical program is too damn expensive. If you were to open it to everyone and allow states to compete for biz it would drive the price down drastically and also get people off all these damn opioids because they would be able to prescribe it and therefore insurance agencies would have to start paying for it as a legit medicine. Currently since it's not legal federally insurance agencies wont touch it.

I am not from America so I can't really speak as a citizen like many of the people on here can but I can definitely say that I would strongly approve of the removal of Trump. I usually find that he causes more problems than good and I also usually see that he is also rather disrespectful towards many different types of people which is probably one of the things I hate the most.

This is coming from a Libertarian's point of view, which means that I'm not siding with Trump nor the Democrats.

But to be honest, this whole impeachment of Donald Trump is completely stupid and a complete waste of time, because if you think about it, by the time the impeachment goes to the Senate, the GOP majority Senate will acquit Trump, which to me, I could really careless.

Plus, not defending Trump or anything (like I said, I'm a Libertarian), but personally, Donald Trump shouldn't really be impeached, because there isn't really direct evidence that is linking Trump to either Russia or Ukraine, if I seen real evidence, then sure, I'll jump on board and demand Trump to be removed from office.

LuckyCharms :
hellno163 : Tell you the honest truth, all politicians do is nothing but lie, it's what they do best to try and convince that they are the "best" choice over their opponents, both Democrats and Republicans are best known for that. It's not just Trump that lies, Obama lied as well, Bush Jr. lied as well, Clinton lied as well, Bush Sr. lied as well, Reagan lied as well, Carter lied as well, and so on and so on. It's just part of the whole Political game. To tell you the truth, I think Donald Trump has lied the same amount as Barack Obama did, and he lied as much as George Bush Jr did, and he lied as much as Bill Clinton did, and so on.

I guess so, it just kinda makes it hard to really like any of them since they are all usually just as bad as each other which is a shame since I don't think that they're bad people per say but definitely not people I would like to support either.

Impeachment is meant for a responsible senate majority leader to take action upon a rogue president and remove from power if necessary. When impeachment was proposed, it was not imagined that we'd have both a rogue president like Trump and a rogue state senate leader like McConnell. There are many reports that Trump personally ordered Solemnini's execution to appease the non-elected representatives of the military industrial complex into acquitting him of his impeachment.

It should also be stated that this is the wrong horse to die on for the impeaching democrats. So eager to point out how he was politically pressuring Ukraine over Joe Biden yet not realizing just how corrupt the American establishment is, that more democrats were ousted in this fight than damage done to Trump's reputation, which has seen his support and donations skyrocket. They could not have picked the children in cages, the war crimes, or the fact his entire presidency was by and large a scam to help out his own businesses? I want Trump out of there as much as anybody, but this is weak, and will be immediately shot down by the Republican majority senate a la Clinton.

Nancy Pelosi's corrupt heading of this is also highly questionable. When Bush invaded Iraq, she was in the position of impeaching him for war crimes, fully aware that they were using torture to extract information, but because she knew that, they used it as leverage to make it seem like she was implicated. Google her net worth. She made 100 million dollars from a foreign company for what exactly? Why impeach on such a weak basis, and why shy away from actually attacking him on such a basis?
