Another review of a Hyperdimension Neptunia game, and yes, it's another spin-off. Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection was the first Neptunia game released for PS Vita, it's the only game in the franchise still exclusive for PS Vita...too bad that the only game that is still exclusive for PS Vita is the worst game in the franchise. When it comes to justify having a PS Vita, because let's be honest, these are video game platforms and exclusive games are what really makes a console appealing compared to the rest, this...is one of the worst examples. To this day, the PS Vita has exclusives that are worth playing, and there are better exclusives for PS Vita, Lumines: Electronic Symphony, Littlebigplanet PS Vita, Drive Girls...at least I'm thankful for the fact that Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection is an exclusive, I'm not that thankful for the game itself...let's begin.

Story: The story of Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection isn't even that good. The CPUs suddenly lost their shares, the reason: A new idol group, MOB48, is having great success and is now really popular throughout the 4 nations, Leanbox, Lowee, Lastation, and Planeptune, to get their shares back, the CPUs will try to beat MOB48 at their own game, the CPUs will become idols and regain their popularity that way. To do that, they need a producer, and that's where the main character, a guy who physically never appears in the game, comes in. Really, the main reason why I'm giving this category a 7 is the dialogue and humor, there are a lot of funny events and situations in the game, and that makes up for the story that only serves its purpose, of course, a silly game with funny moments, not to mention dialogue and events that can be suggestive, shouldn't be unexpected, we are talking about the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise, after all.

Graphics: It's the first game in the franchise for PS Vita, and even so, it doesn't look that different from the games that were released later. The 3D models look nice, and I was considering giving this category a 7, but in the end, this is another Neptunia game for PS Vita that only gets a 6 for this category, it's true that the 3D models look nice, but the concert stages look kind of bad even for a PS Vita game. The 2D art looks really nice and there is actually some animation during the events, which is a nice touch, the backgrounds, of course, are detailed, however, as much as I like the 2D art, I must mention that Tamsoft recycled a lot of assets for this game, it seems that Tsunako did not have to draw a lot for this game, unlike subsequent games, in fact, the game has less CG Images than other Neptunia spin-offs...it could look worse, yes, but the truth is, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection is a game that never had great graphics, even though it's a PS Vita exclusive.

Sound: Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection is the game with most vocal songs in the franchise, that should be expected. Unfortunately, there is a lot of recycled music (typical of the franchise) and also, at times I feel that the singing voices of the characters are not fitting, don't get me wrong, I like the original music, it's just that I don't think that Noire should have that voice regardless if she is singing or not, still, it's a great soundtrack for the most part, the songs are catchy and very enjoyable to listen, I don't have a favorite vocal song, perhaps I would have to choose between ''with confidence'', ''Fly High!'' and ''mirainfinity''...perhaps those are my favorite songs in the game? I'm not sure, but I like them a lot. The voice acting is great and the funny moments are better thanks to the voice acting, and yes, Neptune is voiced by Melissa Fahn, Uni is voiced by Sarah Anne Williams, Nepgear is voiced by Christine Marie Cabanos, Vert is voiced by Tara Platt...the cast is what one would expect of the franchise, especially the first games, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection was one of the first Neptunia games...it's a great cast, as always.

Addictive: The game is an idol simulator...it's too bad that the games of that franchise, ''The Idolm@ster''...haven't been released outside of Japan for the most part. I've heard that those games are also idol simulators, but some people say that those games are fun and better than Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection. The ''gameplay'' of the game is repetitive, it only involves increasing the number of fans that a CPU might have, taking lessons to increase parameters (Vocals, Rhythm, Knowledge...). Lessons will usually increase the percentage of stress, to decrease the amount of stress, you can make the CPU relax, occasionally, you have the option of giving a concert to increase your popularity, and of course, you will have to give a concert at least 2 times throughout the game. One could say that Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection is more a visual novel than a traditional video game, and it's true, unfortunately, the concerts don't complement the game, it's just using different camera angles and stage effects to try to increase the percentage of approval, it really doesn't matter if you just press buttons randomly...it works. Yes, you can shoot upskirt camera shoots during concerts, but where is the fun in that? it's not fun pressing three buttons to use stage effects and changing camera angles constantly, somehow, the game isn't more fun to play than Xblaze Code: Embryo, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection shows that more gameplay doesn't always mean a better game. Viewer mode lets you view the 3D models of the characters and you can interact with them using the touch screen, their reactions and animations are often funny, but the minimal voice acting (at best) doesn't make it better than the model viewer in the Senran Kagura games, it's funny to touch the characters, but it's not something I would do for many minutes...it's not as fun or satisfying compared to Senran Kagura games, and even in those games I wouldn't exactly use a lot of my time to just touch the characters, the rest of the game should be the main attraction. So, yeah, the game isn't that fun to play, and while the Viewer is funny and a little suggestive, it's not very fun to use, overall, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing perfection is, in my opinion, the worst Neptunia game, it's the least fun game in the franchise...I'd rather play the original Hyperdimension Neptunia for PS3.

Depth: It's a short game, one of the shortest games in the franchise, it's true that to get every ending and really see everything, you will have to play this game several times, but...it's not as if the game has a lot of unlockable content, a 5 for this category might be fine.

Difficulty: I would say that you can only lose in this game if you are trying to lose. The game doesn't offer a challenge in the slightest, unless we consider the possibility of a bad ending as an aspect that contributes to a challenge, even so, I have seen only one bad ending so far...it's...an easy game, and the hardest part is having the will to play more, considering that I have finished this game at least 5 times, I...can play this game.

Even if you are a Hyperdimension Neptunia fan like me, it is difficult for me to recommend this game, at best, I'd give this game a 6/10, the same rating I gave Xblaze Code: Embryo, the rating of 5.7/10 is the minimum I'd give this game. If you are a die hard Hyperdimension Neptunia fan, then maybe, maybe...get the European version of the game, the European version is easier to get apparently, and yes, I have the European version. If you are a Hyperdimension Neptunia fan and don't have this game yet, don't worry, you are not missing much, still, if you are interested in the game, you can get it if you want...everyone else should buy another game...
