Out of curiosity what is everyones beef with the current moderators (forgive my ignorance i have been away for a while)

It seems very recently, several people were banned unexpectedly, and some members didn't see the ban coming, thus they felt it was very unjust, even thinking it's cruel and started making threads centered on it. I also spoke to a few people who were very pissed off about the banning and wanted an answer for the sudden actions.

I spoke to people last night to explain what really happened and why the banning happened to begin with. A few weeks ago, Davideo created a joke among the site where everyone can "swear" in their posts, and then a thread was created. It seemed the intention behind the thread was to "have fun" especially with the swearing enabled, but several members saw it and felt members created it solely to spam, and several rules were broken through the thread.

Basically, that thread is why a few people were banned. I brought  that up, and I got the response of "but that happened weeks ago! it's so petty that they waited til now when they could've done it earlier!" Thing is, the mods needed to talk to each other to determine the punishments of several people, and the conversation went out longer than it should have been. However, it seems because the mods "waited" and then dropped the ban after finding an agreement, several people ended up so shocked that it happened (based on what a few told me).

Either way, several people were upset, but others are also poking fun at the situation too. Lexatom's thread here appears to poke fun at it, since people were saying the mods were horrible for banning a few veterans.

Ban all the veterans.... If we follow the usual belief that a veteran is someone who has been here for 5 years, then we must ban the creator of this thread as well....

Speaking more seriously, demoting the mod+ was an idea that David himself thought off in the beginning, when he first started to dedicate more time to the site. He never got around it, but looks like more and more often the community is asking for it to finally be done, so whatever reason David found to not proceed with that back then, it better be strong enough to withstand this new endeavor.

Momo Aria : It's not a "very recent" ordeal. Vizzed moderation is and always has been unjust. I've gotten IP banned for an entire year because I made a rereg named Davideo7 just for a harmless prank. I've seen people get banned for a week for saying the s-word in the forums while others have done the same countless times and get away because they're Vizzed Elite or Site Staff. I've seen a few people who have plagiarized multiple reviews (actually illegal) and they just get their posts removed and a light warning.

Remember when thing1 reported the website to Nintendo and actually singlehandedly caused the downfall of the entire website? And it was like his 4th time being IP banned? But he's unbanned now because he's "a changed man?" Yeah, I call BS, someone higher up has a soft spot for him.

The problem with Vizzed moderation is that people look the other way when their friends break rules, but are so very strict with everyone else. I don't want to point and call names but there is someone specific who just straight up ignores rulebreaking unless it's a select few people.

I second these notions, honestly when I found out the guy who quote on quote killed Vizzed was forgiven, like he brought the mods to their knees? That wasn't right, especially considering that I've come to know the mods as the kind of cold hearted "no you can't do that, don't make us whap you" mods to anyone who isn't in the "circle." This site has always been pretty close knit, the more dedicated members typically recognize at least half the others pretty well, but then I feel like it kind of makes this a drama brewing pit when one cog in the machine starts getting foul, and again, since the mods are like family, it makes the system more biased than it should be. You need to know when to be like a typical member and when to step up as authority if you're in that kind of position.

I would really find it hilarious if everybody here got banned for questioning the great authority of Vizzed.

Also there are like 3 mods at this point so I dont think it is even possible for there to be corruption unless there is just one really sucky person.

TheFadedWarrior : Thing1 was allowed back solely because of David(to my knowledge) as for Mods having soft spots for there friends, I believe that to a certain extent..When I was perma banned certain higher ranking  members knew of my re-regs, and did look the otherway (and or didn't try to necessarily report me), but my situation was a tad bit different from what Thing1 did... but I believe they enforce the rules only when members get really out of hand or can cause serious damage.But it's Davids website he let Thing1 return, people got up in arms when Jigsaw returned as well  and yes some people do really deserve to be banned, but a perma ban is only placed in extreme cases, but sometimes others are allowed more "breathing" room then other members.It's not fair but there will always be bias because your gonna look out for your friends right?, not excusing the lack of rule reinforcement on a select few, but ultimately I look at it as when your a veteran or vizzed elite you are given a bit more "breathing room" as apposed to newer members, it has always been like that on Vizzed. Now each situation is different for why members get perma banned or regular ban they do take into consideration your history and if you've been warned before.    

Momo Aria : If the swearing censor was turned out and David allowed it, then nobody should have been banned from that, if anythinng just close and trash the thread that was made for the purpose of swearing while the censor was off.

It was a bit more complicated than that. The filter could be turned off, it wasn't of by default. So it was still in effect. 
The banned users circumvented the filter by posting images with profanity.
In addition, they broke several other rules.

I didn't know Thing1 did that. But then again, Thing1 didn't he win the award for most controversial? This forgiveness sounds like turn the other cheek type of thing.

Wrong. Users (and staff) want some feedback from the owner and maybe even a heads up when he's going to implement something.
