Pokemon Pyrite - Possibly Best GSC hack
Lets start by saying if you come in here to critique the actual review (guaranteed 3+ of you will comment saying something about oh I liked how you did this or you should've added more detail here) and not the game, I will throat punch you. PLAY THE GAME FIRST.
Moving on pyrite is a very intricate hack of the GSC era. The move pools of the Pokémon is not altered however the levels they learn moves at is to be more practical and realistic. The evolutionary levels are changed too. Most Pokémon evolve through level up like kadabra. This is phenomenal of course.

The main difficulty hack here is a forced set battle style. Also no items from the pack in battle (opponents will abide by this law as well). Now before you go cry that you cant use 99999 hyper potions to win any match just realize that your ridiculous and no items in battle makes a much more tactical and challenging game. Makes it like a legit competition you'd play online, except with a story mode. Also instead of disobeying you Pokémon are capped at a certain level based on your gym badges which provides a focus on team building rather than power leveling your starter to lvl 99 and destroying everything with one attack over and over and over. Honestly I only hit the cap a few times its nothing to worry about it continues into the kanto region too. Finally gyms are actually a challenge because you cant leave when you enter unless you win or white-out! So stock up on items before hand. (money loss formula for losing is reworked obviously).

There's plenty of map, trainer, and mart tweaks as well. Otherwise it'll unfold similar to a gsc version. Somethings like the move tutor is severely changed. He charges 1000 coins and will teach a Pokémon any compatible move. However you don't pick what move he offers to teach it, the game does through a complex formula. If you don't want it, check back another time and hell have something new for you.

Massively underrated!
This Pokemon hack is so underrated. Its like Maine during the summertime, an undiscovered gem. Its unique story line brings you through a whole new region created by the hacker sprinkled in with some familiar areas like the safari zone. It has some new tweaks to all these old zones. The big experiment here is an overview map warp zone. This eliminates the need for fly and helps you navigate if you get lost. Interesting concept to say the least.

The graphics are GBA and well polished few glitches for a hack.

Sound is similar to every other pokemon game. I generally don't play with sound on or play music in the background so I left it blank. Would say its about a 7 though. Catchy but I've heard it a million times.

Story is slightly different from other pokemon games, ill let you find out on your own. There's still gym leaders, E4, and side quests.

Depth there is hundreds of pokemon to catch if you desire I usually only get 50ish though haha. The landscape has ample amounts of trainers and exploring to do so have no fear about investing time into it, you wont blaze through it.

The difficulty on this game is definitely upped compared to regular games. Its much harder early on. I've whited out quite a few times.

Overall its just a very enjoyable game. I highly recommend it and notice it doesn't have many plays yet so hopefully this review will aid that. Before you ask, F2 is to save, F4 is to load, and save in the game before beating the elite 4!

Happy gaming!

Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger...

It's one of those legendary games that you heard of and kind of know how it would play out but never really played it for whatever reason. I honestly just thought oh look its going to be another early final fantasy game. Well not quite. A lot of the game engine is final fantasy obviously (they used final fantasy's developers and a couple of others for production) but it has its own separate twists and mechanics from FF. Chrono trigger utilizes a dual-tech & triple-tech system that allows different characters to perform powerful combinations. So in terms of battle you no longer pick the best individuals but rather build a team with the best chemistry. The difficulty battle wise was a bit harder then most rpg's and there was no annoying random encounters! All the enemies are on screen....thats not to say you wont be ambushed. The graphics are amusing, your characters will turn towards the enemy and not mindlessly stare off at the sky. Some monsters even dance around the screen while in battle. The game has many different endings (14) so it has a high replay value. Overall I love these retro-styled rpg's made in the "golden" age of video games. So naturally picking this game up after returning from boot camp was a treat. Regardless I think anyone can enjoy this game. Its great to see how these oldies spawned massive free world adventures like skyrim. This games the original and going back to my first thoughts I'd definitely recommend this game. 10/10

Final Fantasy 6
Without a doubt final fantasy 6 is one of the best final fantasy games in the installment. Now that's besides the fact that final fantasy is one of the greatest rpg/adventure manufactures ever. FF6 is great for a few main reasons. First, It is a well executed rpg that has hours of play and indefinite customization. Second the difficulty is not high enough to be obnoxious but just good enough for you to get a challenge out of it, the cinematography is superb and the depth is massive.  Finally, The game involves more the just mindless head bashing click and kill. You need a working strategy and the ability to adapt, the designers produced it that way on purpose to keep it interesting no doubt. Honestly, I very much enjoyed this game and guarantee you will too. So give it a go!
