You Don't Know Jack: 5th Dementia 07-26-25 10:45 AM |
You are entering not a dimension but a dementia So I have finished this game twice by now and I figured now would be a good a time as any to give this game a review, I’ve done almost all of them all that’s left is Offline and Lost Gold…oh and Louder Faster Funnier which I am restarting because I have time to complete it since I chose to scale back on gaming season this year to focus on my wellbeing, but I’m not scaling back on Tour de Vizzed. Gameplay and Story: Once again we have ourselves answering a mess of trivia questions. Thirty Nine episodes worth of questions (yeah someone out there must have liked the format of the Ride) oh before I forget this game gives you an online play option which wouldn’t work now since no one uses dialup internet these days (that’s why this game wasn’t included with the belated 25th anniversary collection) and of course you choose yourself an avatar. Oh and Schmitty is hosting this game and will be for the next few games as well (what happened to Cookie?). Despite the episodic format here there's no main goal in this game. The Ride was the quest to get to the bottom floor, here there's nothing. Graphics: They have kind of space age ish graphics out there, it makes it look like you’re playing in space but that’s not the case. The Color of the numbers used in the segues actually kind of match the colors of the fonts that were used in previous games (minus the Ride….I think they tried too hard there) we see alot of Robot technology in there including voices. Soundtracks: As has been kind of the norm with the recent games we have vocal-less segues, which is a shame because those singers were really talented, even more of a bummer you’d think since they were using the Format of the Ride we’d get a new batch of songs to play over the credits instead we get a couple of segments of a Behind the Music Parody (it makes me miss the days when E! And VH1 were watchable), a phone operator saying random stuff, an historically inaccurate ... Read the rest of this Review |
Nancy Drew: Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon 07-26-25 07:26 AM |
Choo-Choo One thing I want to point out before I start is that this is the last game that will have the regular welcome screen when you click “new game”. Also for once we are playing a game that is based on a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Super Mystery #8 Mystery Train (most of the games we have played are based on either the Nancy Drew Files books or one from the main series that lasted until the early 2000s…this is from the Files era, and yet somehow the Nancy/Hardy’s mystery files books outlasted Nancy Drew Files by about a year) Gameplay and Story: You are invited as a guest of Frank and Joe Hardy (yes they are along for the ride in this game) on this recently restored train that belonged to a miner named Jake Hurley. One day the train returned without Hurley and his engineer was found dead. We are all on an expedition to seek out Hurley’s lost mine in Copper Gorge in Colorado. Legend has it that Jake’s late wife Camille haunts the train as well. Remember you are a guest of the Hardy Boys not the dim bulb heiress of a hostess Lori Girard (having a tabloid chasing heiress here really dates the game, it came out when Paris Hilton was usually in tabloids at the drop of a hat, and boy I can’t believe the Kardashians made me miss her) you’re also joined by another “experienced” detective and former spouse of Lori’s Tino Balducci, a tv Ghost Hunter John Gray and Charleena Purcell (remember her? we spoke to her on the phone about Dirk Valentine back when we were at Shadow Ranch….don’t worry she doesn’t remember us either, which is a shame because I would have liked to have known if she started writing about Dirk and Francis or if she did visit the Rawley’s) so suddenly during a brief power outage, Lori disappears….oh don’t worry she wasn’t abducted or anything, turns out this was all a trick of her doing. We find her in the Caboose just chilling and reading one of Charleena’s books. The Good news is she rewards us with a letter that Ja... Read the rest of this Review |
Treasure Galaxy 07-06-25 02:16 PM |
Mischief in Space Is there no end to the Super Solver/Seeker Franchise? Well at least the list was cut in half since the site insisted that I do Cove and Mountain at the same time Gameplay and Story: And Morty Maxwell is at it again. Why? “How I enjoy being annoying” he says, he’s just screwing around crystal city creating disasteroids (get it?) so they can cause damage, one of them crashes into Queen Astral’s palace just as she’s polishing crystals, and as the chest full of her crystals is open causing Morty to steal them and hide them in satellites (which of course would require codebreaking) and yeah the Sun drops need the Crystals because they need them for sunny spirits. When you zap a “Cool” sun drop (they’ll have sunglasses on) you will solve a math problem (likely a multiplication related one or a comparing activity) get it right and you will earn star bucks to use in the store as well as the codebreaker for the satellites (You can buy a code number or refill your sunbeams) conserve your star bucks because they will be fewer earned (like first little while you will get one whole star buck but as the game goes on you’ll earn them in fractions and they won’t be whole) you’re going to need the star bucks for the satellites where the crystals are hidden. Now to get code numbers for a stargate to enter the next zone you’re going to need to do these activities at least one per zone (but you’ll need four numbers and when you keep doing the activity even after you have all the numbers you need you can earn more star bucks) Zapping a sunbeam without sunglasses will still get you star bucks but not a satellite code Graphics: Well unfortunately I didn’t set the colors to 265 compared to the thirty two bits that I use on my Windows 98 box which made the graphics not look good (there was no game message that told me it should be set that way. I kind of wish it got a rerelease though like the other Super Seeker games did but I guess the rerele... Read the rest of this Review |
Nancy Drew: Secret of the Old Clock 07-06-25 04:56 AM |
Happy 95th Birthday Nancy Drew Well I guess you could say that hell has frozen over, because I finally completed a Nancy Drew Game I hadn’t played previously (and this was my first one in almost 20 years) and all it took was for my cable/internet provider to give me a weekend of grief. This game was released in 2005 likely to mark Nancy Drew's 75th anniversary. Oh yeah there may be spoilers Gameplay and Story: Based on the very first Nancy Drew book ever published (or rather the 1960s revised version of it) The Year is 1930 (yes they’re doing that, no cellphones to help us here) and we have been summoned to the Lilac Inn in Titusville by Emily Crandall a person we know via a mutual friend Helen Corning (shame we couldn’t have her as a phone a friend hell she has never appeared in the games at all, let alone the CW series). Oddly enough unlike the previous games we don’t start with a letter to someone we start with some Dateline narrator. We had been asked to check in on her. We are met by her guardian Jane Willoughby and she tells us Emily is upstairs in her room, and she’s not in a good place at the moment, her mother had passed barely a month ago, she keeps hearing random things and seeing random oddities (like a picture in her room suddenly moving) and just as she is showing us her late mother’s jewels (yeah she is entrusting Nancy with them like putting them in a safe somewhere), there’s a sudden explosion in the Kitchen and during the commotion the jewels have been stolen, she was also hoping to sell them in order to get the Kitchen fixed, oh yeah and here’s where the mystery kicks in. Emily tells Nancy that she and her mother were supposed to inherit some money from some eccentric dude Josiah Crowley, but all of a sudden he went and changed his will and everything went to Richard Topham (don’t worry fans of the book his daughters aren’t in the game, heck he doesn’t mention if he has family in this game) we also encounter a banker in this game (the boo... Mega Math Blaster Deluxe 07-26-24 07:31 AM |
Who asked for a remake? So for some reason in the mid 90s Davidson decided to hit the reboot button on the Math Blaster Franchise and release newer versions of what they had already made. Why? Because Davidson was acquired by Knowledge Adventure (better known as JumpStart) and they wanted to get sales to kick in (I’m not exactly sure, I’m not getting alot of information about all this) Gameplay and Story: This is essentially a loose remake of Math Blaster in Search of Spot, and it comes with a new villain (because in the opening cut scene we can see In Search of Spot’s villain the Trash Alien in Jail with Illitera and….whoever that robot is……hey how come Illitera was the only math blaster villain to make it into the Blasters Universe tv series?*one google later* I checked the wiki apparently Dr.Dabble made it in but I could swear that Major History was the villain in the lost weekend episode. But then again I might as well ask why was Spot not in it but I remembered this was a prequel series) who’s our big bad? Some disgusting thing that calls itself a Gelator abducts Spot just as he’s taunting the villains locked up in the prison planet Lockemup, and he only wants Spot for his knowledge, yeah Gelator is a pretty dumb villain, so there’s more stakes to this one, because Gelator could head towards the Headquarters. Oh and by the way Galactic Commander is in the front lines this time, however we only get her for one game and it’s the new version of the number recycling game, Blasternaut has to go to the Planet Moldar to recover the crystals that power the planet and weaken Gelator (not to mention clean up the mess Gelator made) Graphics: They’re about the same as the original (actually no they’re not you can tell it’s a different team that worked on this) however they found money for mouth animation as it were since at least here we see Blasternaut’s mouth move Soundtrack: well this time we have background music (the original one didn’... The Yukon Trail 07-27-25 07:49 AM |
Yukon Trail Walkthrough The Game begins with Exposition of the time date, July 1897 the US is in the throes of a depression, times were tough and people were beginning to lose hope (sure they weren’t just bored?) then from out of the North came astonishing news…..GOLD! All of a sudden people in the US and around the world were heading to the Yukon in hopes of striking it rich. Then we get dialogue from Gold Dust Charley and a cameo from the newspaper hawler Fast forward to a month later….YOU yes YOU the player are in Seattle, Washington near a shipyard, the game wants to know your name for Journal purposes Once you’ve exited the Journal you see a pair of people that are either going to convince you to go to either Dyea or Skagway (this was before the Yukon/White Pass Railroad was a thing you’re on your own here) they’ll both tell you you’ll need a ticket to board the ship and they tell you there’s a ticket office down the street. You find it you try to buy a ticket but get told that you’ll need a partner in order to get a ticket. (you can also talk to the other people in Seattle but it’s completely optional, in fact talking to people is optional, more on that later) There are four people waiting for you The Berry’s would convince you to pick a good partner and buy your food in Seattle rather than wait til you get to Alaska because everything is cheaper here There is Sadie who claims to be the best Gold Miner on the planet There’s “Linda” (she tells us to call her that because her name is difficult for outsiders to pronounce) who is a trail guide and can help carry your stuff (and happens to be from where we are supposed to go) There’s Jake who is a carpenter, he’ll actually tell you which is the best boat to build if you choose the square one or the arrow shaped one, more on that later And there’s Midas T Golden he breaks easily but has the most money out of all 4 partners, the rest of them have 500 b... Troggle Trouble Math 07-07-25 01:29 PM |
Troggle Trouble Math Walkthrough So the muncher is going about a game board minding his own business (in the style of the game board from the classic Muncher games) when all of a sudden this weird living rocket comes along and abducts the muncher and just laughs. We cut to a spinning newspaper that says Muncher kidnapped by aliens on the front cover. [img]https://www.vizzed.com/user/i/7/71715/image/0025174001751912360.png][/img] TROG We are then introduced to Magenta who is a scientist and the owner of the dog we control in the game and she knows what really happened to the Muncher, it wasn’t the aliens that kidnapped him it was actually a robot troggle named Trog and he was built by Doctor Frankentroggle and he wants to take over the world with mutant Troggles. She shows us what is practically a Smartphone precursor, a Troggulator, which acts as a calculator, a phone and it can recharge itself when you answer some math questions on the device, but it’s primary focus is to troggulate the Troggles and make them go away. There is an optional troggulator tutorial in this game which might be a good idea to use it if you’re a first time player. The way it works is that if Sparky howls that means Troggles are coming so click that troggulator button (it has a red lightning bolt) fast you need to count (or better yet click on the shield protecting sparky and he’ll count them for you) and you should enter an equation. The factor won’t always be the same though either you have to add or subtract, multiply or divide to get the right number, and only one of those will appear. And if this device weren’t Smart Phone precursor enough, it even has a video calls. Eventually Magenta will introduce us to Sparky and she’ll tell you about Sparky treats they are scattered in all the areas, try to munch as many as you can because if you fill one up as we see there are multiple boxes then we’ll get an extra box of treats (yes they represent the number of lives you have, she’ll also tel... Rocky & Bullwinkle's Know-It-All Quiz Game 07-07-25 06:35 AM |
Rocky and Bullwinkle's Know it All quiz game walkthrough We have a game show hosted by Bullwinkle J Moose, the narrator from the show is the announcer of the game show (Rocky is among the teammates you can select), and a good chunk of the supporting characters in this Jay Ward production will be your teammates There are two levels to pick from Easy and Hard. It would have the same number of questions regardless, the questions will just be more difficult. We clearly hear an audience that doesn’t want to be here. First you will be told to select an avatar which is of….a bunch of random college (I’m assuming) students these are the teams and team mates you can pick Frostbite Falls: Dudley Do-right, Nell Fenwick, Aesop and Nell’s father; Inspector Fenwick. Also contrary to what you saw on the box art Do-right’s horse, Horse is not a selectable character. Wassamatta U: Mr Peabody, Sherman, Rocket J Squirrel and Captain "Wrongway" Peachfuzz (why not the Martians from the first story arc of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends) Pottsylvania: oh like this really needs an explanation but there will be one anyway, you can pick between Boris, Natasha, Snidely Whiplash and Fearless Leader (What no Mr Big?) The first round is set in a regular game show set podium and all the questions are as follows (these aren’t misspellings by the way) Moosecellaneous History or WABAC When Music and Art or Rock n Van Gough Animals and Plants or It’s Alive Landmarks or Big Famoose Places Famous People or Folks everyone Should Know Literature or The Write Stuff Science or Test Tube Trivia Recent events or the Years TV AD Hmm these are kind of formatted like the old episode titles of the show Now the contestants (and/or computer yes you can play against the computer in this game) select two (or three depending on how many are playing) categories while the one that... The ClueFinders: 3rd Grade Adventures: Mystery of Mathra 07-27-24 07:36 AM |
Cluefinders 3rd Grade Adventures The opening cut scene before the sign in brings you deep into the heart of the Numerian rainforest where we meet Doctor Horace Pythagoras, and his team (they’re not important) and his flying assistant Laptrap informs him that the monster Mathra has attacked again, the doctor does not believe that he’s real and he’s just superstition and then tells laptrap that they will go and find the keys to the city of Numeria themselves what could possibly go wrong….uh oh Mathra must have good hearing because the next victim is…..Doctor Pythagoras, as he’s being swept away he tells Laptrap to contact the Cluefinders. Why? Well it just so happens the group’s leader and founder is his niece Joni Savage After we sign in and set our levels (yes we can pre-set the levels here there was no driving activity or automatic leveling yet) we are at a small airplane driven by one Fletcher Limburger carrying four pre-teens Joni asks him if they are getting closer to where her uncle was abducted, Santiago questions if Doctor Pythagoras was really taken by the monster, Limberger tries to change the subject by offering the kids some peanuts (with a hilarious interjection by Owen) Leslie opens her Big Book of Everything (I want that book!) explaining that she did read about the lost city of Numeria, we get some illustrations of it’s history while Limburger talks about the history of Numeria and how Mathra ruined everything. When Limburger finishes the story we arrive at Pythagoras’s base camp, and Laptrap greets the Cluefinders and explains what happened and shows them a map of the Numeria. Joni states that she, Santiago and Laptrap would go and find the keys while Leslie and Owen stay behind to be the videolink and backup (Santiago will have a Red Videophone on him at all times and you can call them for help whenever the player is having problems) There's no concrete structure of where to go first in the first act you can start at either the Monkey Kingd...
