Mega Math Blaster Deluxe 07-26-24 07:31 AM |
Who asked for a remake? So for some reason in the mid 90s Davidson decided to hit the reboot button on the Math Blaster Franchise and release newer versions of what they had already made. Why? Because Davidson was acquired by Knowledge Adventure (better known as JumpStart) and they wanted to get sales to kick in (I’m not exactly sure, I’m not getting alot of information about all this) Gameplay and Story: This is essentially a loose remake of Math Blaster in Search of Spot, and it comes with a new villain (because in the opening cut scene we can see In Search of Spot’s villain the Trash Alien in Jail with Illitera and….whoever that robot is……hey how come Illitera was the only math blaster villain to make it into the Blasters Universe tv series?*one google later* I checked the wiki apparently Dr.Dabble made it in but I could swear that Major History was the villain in the lost weekend episode. But then again I might as well ask why was Spot not in it but I remembered this was a prequel series) who’s our big bad? Some disgusting thing that calls itself a Gelator abducts Spot just as he’s taunting the villains locked up in the prison planet Lockemup, and he only wants Spot for his knowledge, yeah Gelator is a pretty dumb villain, so there’s more stakes to this one, because Gelator could head towards the Headquarters. Oh and by the way Galactic Commander is in the front lines this time, however we only get her for one game and it’s the new version of the number recycling game, Blasternaut has to go to the Planet Moldar to recover the crystals that power the planet and weaken Gelator (not to mention clean up the mess Gelator made) Graphics: They’re about the same as the original (actually no they’re not you can tell it’s a different team that worked on this) however they found money for mouth animation as it were since at least here we see Blasternaut’s mouth move Soundtrack: well this time we have background music (the original one didn’... You Don't Know Jack! Sports 07-06-24 11:30 AM |
Seven...Twenty One...Eighteen.... JACK! Well I thought I said I wasn’t going to do this but I decided to start a You Don’t Know Jack related project after I finished with the ride that way I could keep playing even if it wasn’t a holiday acknowledgement (which by the way this game doesn’t have) So I don’t know if I’ll play Headrush, I made it clear that this may be my last gaming season due to many factors not just computer reasons but also because Youtube took my advanced features away I can only upload ten videos a day (though I don’t think I ever have done that many) and also time, the older I get the less it’s on my side. Gameplay and Story: There’s no story to this game, basically you answer a bunch of sports related trivia which by the way I am no good at. We also have a new host Guy Towers in his only solo hosting game (he does show up in the Ride though but nothing else) I think this might be the second game release order wise, unless XL was released at the same time as the original game Graphics: Now since this is a specifically themed game the backgrounds would be appropriate the background color is something I would call Football Field Green, and the opening is usually different in the intro and at the start of the game when they take your information, whichever sports object like a ball or a puck shows up it will show up to attack the logo and usually sticks around for the rest of the game as the number round graphics. Also the numbers look like how numbers look on football or hockey jerseys which is a nice touch. Soundtrack: I love what they used for the Jack Attack, it’s essentially the music that is used at Hockey Games (do they even still use it? I genuinely want to know because I’ve been watching Jets games since they returned to Winnipeg and I don’t think I’ve heard it once) I don’t know what it’s called but it's kind of the lead up notes that normally ends with CHARGE (I think they do it without it these days), and instead of... Sabrina - The Teenage Witch - Potion Commotion 07-06-24 07:40 AM |
a 90s favourite gets a 2000s game This is the first time I’ve ever reviewed a Game Boy Advance game, I really have to have patience when doing games like this, or games with extra buttons in general. I’m actually more familiar with the Animated Series than I am the TGIF sitcom (the only character from the school that made it onto the cartoon was Harvey, and they weren’t even dating in it, one of these days I will find the time to finish Zapped and Spooked) and the recent Netflix series, but kind of knowing what I know about the sitcom, I am now so confused because the animated series really screws with the Continuity, and well because of the TGIF sitcom the fact that Hilda and Zelda are cursed to be young is now part of the lore, what I definitely do know is that Sabrina goes through more friends than boyfriends (seriously even in the sequel animated series she’s besties with someone else, why is it that Harvey always carries over?). now if only there was a way to get the show on Pluto TV in my country Gameplay and Story: It all started when Hilda got envious of Sabrina’s dating life. While trying to make the perfect date Hilda accidentally petrifies herself and causes inanimate objects to come alive and attack people and now we have to find ingredients to de-petrify her, now you’d think that once Hilda is de-petrified the problems are over right? Wrong, this sets up a domino effect that will effect the rest of the game, Hilda turns Zelda into a fish after an argument and we also have this quiz master that challenges Sabrina in order to strengthen her magic, though she had her witch’s license for quite awhile though, and then within every stage we get cursed and we can’t use a certain spell unless we unlock it, this game is so complicated. Graphics: Kind of well what you would expect for a game boy advanced game, something I kind of noticed when playing GBA games, it makes me wonder how are the games really advanced? I mean yes they actually are better than the gra... Read the rest of this Review |
Kelly Club - Clubhouse Fun 07-26-23 01:51 PM |
Whatever happened to Kelly Roberts? Oh Kelly, you have no idea how much I miss seeing you in the merchandise department, I’m old enough to remember when Kelly was introduced, she and her little crib and her little black dress and her pink nighty. But somehow in the 2000s, Barbie’s sisters were kind of phased out and hardly seen….and we can thank the Bratz for that (if they didn’t have to exist, then My Scene wouldn’t have to exist) granted the sisters were eventually brought back but, sigh Chelsie will always be Kelly to me…though it kind of bothers me that Skipper and Stacie never got their own thing, I mean they both have their own group of friends, but they never had their own individual product in such a long time like maybe not since Yo-Yo Skipper(which by the way got a shout out in the Barbie movie), I mean why bother introducing Chrissy if her older sisters are going to be horrendously underused, I think Kelly’s final appearance may have been Fun Treats Barbie and Kelly *one youtube later* apparently Kelly’s last major product was the Kelly and Friends dolls in 2007, because I guess they were trying to reintroduce her considering that now Barbie was no longer tied down with My Scene Gameplay and Story: So Kelly and her friends (which includes Ken’s baby brother Tommy, another one in the brand that’s disappeared, no he wasn’t in the movie or the scene of discontinued Barbies) decide to perform a magic show just because, so we play minigames just so we can get find our friends so we can get special items so we can get the keys from our friends in order to find tickets for them to participate and watch the show (wish Barbie was watching the show too but neither she or any of the other Roberts sisters show up in the game) Graphics: They are what they are considering it’s a game boy color game, I’m just sorry that Kelly’s staying power didn’t last long enough for her to get a game boy advance game but by then My Scene was about to start up, and even th... Odell Down Under 07-26-23 12:08 AM |
mmmm....Fish Yeah, I thought I was finished with the MECC games as well (I'm not going to ask for eXplore Yellowstone here because it's well there's no plot to it really), but I think this might be the last one, so I figured this should get a review too, it’s ones of my favourites Gameplay and story: This is a bit of a sequel to Odell Lake except instead of choosing whether to eat the fish or dive to avoid being eaten, you basically have to go around a portion of the Great Barrier Reef (that’s why it’s called Odell Down Under), though there are three ways to die if there isn’t enough of the fish that is part of your diet or if you eat something poisonous (like the sea wasp, or the Anemone) or you can starve to death. The worst that can happen is if you click on the giant clam that normally hangs around ,You can also die from an infection if your health goes south but that’s what the cleaner fish are for, you go up to a blue streak cleaner wrasse and they bring your health back to normal, and there’s the banded coral shrimp they can clean you too, though you can also eat them. Basically, the main object of the game is to survive, gain the points you need to upgrade to a bigger fish Graphics: Well, they are what they are considering this was a game released in the 90s, the Blacktip shark actually looks pretty good and actually looks like a shark, most of the fish there are fish I had never heard of before playing this game (though the barracuda doesn’t really look like a barracuda) I don’t know if there are certain points in the reef that have names but I know it’s bigger than those nine scenes we are given Soundtrack: A good chunk of it is rather tropical sounding, it has a nice opening tune when you are at the title screen, though it plays during the gameplay as well, it has a very nice variety (when I share a gameplay here I will show it) however they’re not exactly something I would set to a multi hour loop on YouTube,... The ClueFinders: 3rd Grade Adventures: Mystery of Mathra 07-27-24 07:36 AM |
Cluefinders 3rd Grade Adventures The opening cut scene before the sign in brings you deep into the heart of the Numerian rainforest where we meet Doctor Horace Pythagoras, and his team (they’re not important) and his flying assistant Laptrap informs him that the monster Mathra has attacked again, the doctor does not believe that he’s real and he’s just superstition and then tells laptrap that they will go and find the keys to the city of Numeria themselves what could possibly go wrong….uh oh Mathra must have good hearing because the next victim is…..Doctor Pythagoras, as he’s being swept away he tells Laptrap to contact the Cluefinders. Why? Well it just so happens the group’s leader and founder is his niece Joni Savage After we sign in and set our levels (yes we can pre-set the levels here there was no driving activity or automatic leveling yet) we are at a small airplane driven by one Fletcher Limburger carrying four pre-teens Joni asks him if they are getting closer to where her uncle was abducted, Santiago questions if Doctor Pythagoras was really taken by the monster, Limberger tries to change the subject by offering the kids some peanuts (with a hilarious interjection by Owen) Leslie opens her Big Book of Everything (I want that book!) explaining that she did read about the lost city of Numeria, we get some illustrations of it’s history while Limburger talks about the history of Numeria and how Mathra ruined everything. When Limburger finishes the story we arrive at Pythagoras’s base camp, and Laptrap greets the Cluefinders and explains what happened and shows them a map of the Numeria. Joni states that she, Santiago and Laptrap would go and find the keys while Leslie and Owen stay behind to be the videolink and backup (Santiago will have a Red Videophone on him at all times and you can call them for help whenever the player is having problems) There's no concrete structure of where to go first in the first act you can start at either the Monkey Kingd...
