Snake's Revenge Review   dazzsheil
Snake's Revenge was released in 1990 and was developed by Ultra Games and published by Konami Entertainment LLC.,.It is a Non-Canonical Entry in the Metal Gear franchise and was not developed by the original crew.Although,Snake's Revenge is an important piece of Metal Gear history as if it weren't for this game,Hideo Kojima( the developer of the original Metal Gear) would not have bumped into one of the Snake's Revenge developers and would not have made the True sequel, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. This is my Snake's Revenge review.
GRAPHICS: Near perfection. Konami know how to make brilliant graphics on the NES....Its just not as good looking or as colorful as let's say,Castlevania III Dracula's Curse. But the game does look nice, just lacking some fluid animations. I'd give the graphics a 9
SOUND:One of the best action soundtracks on NES Better than Metroid.PERIOD. The alert theme is a mainstay in the series and the overall soundtrack is definitely worth a ten. Brilliant.
ADDICTIVENESS: I Don't come back to this game often but I Do play it for at least an hour before having to write a stupid password down! Mostly I Come back to listen to the music though,I'd give this a six.
STORY: Loses some marks for being non-canonical entry in the franchise. It is though like all Metal Gear games very confusing and full off plot twists. Also, who is Colonel Vermont Ca Taffy and do we ever see him...or is he juts Big Boss. I'd give this a seven.
DEPTH: I get lost so often in this game because it is so big and is full of things to do although its not RPG Big,its still a very large cartridge and so I give the Depth a 10.
DIFFICULTY: It is not the usual Metal Gear Sneaking around stuff, its a run N gun type of game and that's why this game is sooooo easy.Overall I'd give this section a 5.
OVERALL: While not a bad game by any means,Snake's Revenge Definitely has its flaws. If it came out on the Wii Shop Channel I'd recommend using 500 Wii points on it. I give Snake's Revenge for the NES A 7/10

Snake's Revenge Box Description

After his ironclad plan to rule the world rusted away, crazed Colonel Vermon CaTaffy went psycho. Unfortunately, your two best friends took the brunt of his frenzy and lost their fight to live. As nutty as ever, CaTaffy has sought asylum from the world's premiere bad guy - Higharolla Kockamamie. Grateful to this 'Rolla Radical, the Colonel has donated the biggest, baddest Ultra-Sheik Nuclear Attack Tank to his fellow madman's world dominating cause. Now your mission is to not only save Earth, but to inflict revenge. It's a job you'll definitely take personally as you infiltrate a nation of armed lunatics. Blow up a battleship. Hijack a train. Locate dozens of weapons and a truth serum that'll force enemy commanders to spill their guts. Then, destroy Vermon, Higharolla and the Earth Threatening Device with one lethal blow. All this, while staying in radio contact with a foxy spy named Jennifer and a Stealth copter pilot who'll be hovering nearby. So whaddaya think, Snake - are you commando enough to handle this Kockamamie scheme?

Just beat the game. Much more difficult than the first Metal Gear. One of the more challenging games on the NES.

This game is certainly difficult. Very frustrating at points. WAY harder than the first Metal Gear on NES and longer too.
