Duck Hunt? How about dog hunt? Stevie 764
Have you ever hunted ducks? You can now with this duck hunt game!
How to play:
A dog jumps into a long bush bringing out ducks for you to shoot at, try to hit every one! Use the Nintendo Light Gun to aim and shoot the ducks and clay that pop out of the bush. The blue lines under the ducks shot indicates the required number of ducks to be shot down to progress to the next level, failure to do so ends the game and you get sent back to the title screen, shoot down as many ducks as you can, if you miss a duck, the dog laughs at you, don't you just hate that dog and want to shoot it?
Now, to start the review:
Although there is not any music except for the title screen and game start/over, the sounds are great, the simulation of shooting ducks, take a duck down, and you get to see the duck fall into the bush.
There isn't a story, other than to just shoot ducks and clay pigeons.
It is likely that you will play this again, keep shooting ducks!
The first 5 rounds are easy enough, but when you get further in the game, the goal line increases by 1, when you hit level 20, you have to shoot every duck down, otherwise, the game ends.
There are 3 different modes in this game:
GAME A - 1 DUCK
GAME B - 2 DUCKS
GAME C - CLAY SHOOT
Overall, this a good game, there is alot that this game has to offer, fun sounds, great graphics, gameplay, there is so much!
Overall rating according to overall: A-
Hope you enjoyed this review, I have more reviews to come! :D ;)

A true NES classic: Duck Hunt DerpForTheWin
Whenever I come back to the NES, I think about all the famous games that have been praised for so many years, such as Super Mario Bros, Mega Man II, Contra, and even double dragon. But there are those hidden gems, games that were praised for a short time before being just a shadow of a much more commercially successful game. This is the case with Duck Hunt for NES, as it was soon left in the dust for Mario. So, how great is this game you ask?
Graphics: 6
Now being an early NES game, you really wouldn't expect much of the graphics to be impressive. But, they turn out pretty good (for an early NES game). The duck animations are pretty fluid and there isn't a horrible texture in the game. However, with the limited technology they had in '84 they really couldn't cook up a graphical masterpiece like Mega Man II, but at the time, these graphics were indeed pretty impressive.
Sound: 8
If there was one game from the early days of the NES that truly had amazing sound, it had to be Duck Hunt. While there really wasn't much sound that playing the game, the duck noises were pretty good, even though it was all synthesized. The music is pretty good for its time but what really gripped me about the sound of this game was the dog. It has such realistic sound and truly is the kicker for immersing you into an already great hidden gem.
Addictiveness: 9
This is where Duck Hunt shines. You're one shot away from 1 million points. One bullet left, and then, you miss. You may rage out, and you may break something as well, but there is still a feeling inside you that keeps your eyes glued to the TV, memorizing duck patterns and clay-shooting sequences, and just sitting there as your minutes drift off into hours. Point is: Duck Hunt's simple gameplay and challenging premise has a special quality that leaves you wanting more.
Depth: 3
There is really not much to do in this game. You have 3 different game modes, each of them involving you to shoot a target. Your quota becomes more and more demanding of you and soon becomes pretty hard.
Difficulty: 6
To be honest, Duck Hunt is not as hard as most people may think. Except for the ever so demanding quota, and the faster speed of targets, there really isn't much to be worried about in duck hunt. As long as you have a quick finger, and good reflexes, you should be able to clear Duck Hunt with ease (at least up to round 20, because that's when the difficulty ramps on the ducks!)
Overall Rating: 8.4
To be honest, I think that this is one of the hidden gems of the NES that really offers you a lot. Sometimes the simple premises that games have to offer have so much greatness awaiting behind the door of great NES games. Sure, there may be some flaws that this game has, and it really should have offered more to do, but look past that and see a true game that makes your drab day become a totally awesome life!

Duck Hunt: NES Classic Thebiguglyalien
Duck Hunt is probably one of the most well known NES games, and for good reason. Anyone who was a child when the NES came out (and many of their children) probably has fond memories of taking the zapper and holding it up to the screen one nobody was looking. This game is a classic on the Nintendo Entertainment System, and it's pretty clear why.
Graphics: 5The graphics in this game aren't necessarily bad, but they're nothing great. Compared to other games of its time, they're so-so. There are far better NES games, but Duck Hunt still has its own style. Some of the drawings are rather crude, but it does have some redeeming values. I personally think the ducks stand out from the rest of the game as particularly good. Not terrible, but nothing exceptional.
Sound: 7As far as the Nintendo Entertainment System goes, this game has some decent sound effects. The music at the start of the game is nothing bad, and everything sounds like its supposed to. You hear the dog barking, you hear the wings flapping, and you hear the ducks quacking. Much of the game is silent though, which could obviously be improved on.
Addictiveness: 9Addictiveness is definitely this game's strength. There's something about shooting at little images of ducks that just never gets old. Much of it has to do with the simplicity and repetition that it provides while still presenting a genuine challenge (especially later on). Many people have watched their lives waste away to nothing as they sat there shooting at the ducks. Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration. But when it all comes down to it, this game is very fun and very addictive.
Story: -No story here. You're shooting stuff, and that's about it. The closest thing to an antagonist in this game is that good-for-nothing dog.
Depth: 4This game has very little to offer. The only thing you can do is point and shoot. The main redeeming aspect of Duck Hunt as far as depth goes is the fact that is has three different modes. The first mode being "one duck", the second mode being "two ducks", and the third mode being "clay shooting". You can switch between the three, but they all feel pretty much the same.
Difficulty: 5The difficulty can vary depending on a few factors. The first factor of course, is what mode you are playing. If you're playing one duck, you shouldn't have much problem for a while. With two ducks, you might miss more ducks sooner. And with clay shooting, your targets are a lot smaller and therefore harder to hit. The difficulty also increases rapidly depending on how far in the game you are. Most people can win level one, but only the champion duck hunters can shoot down every duck in round twenty. Then of course, it's always easier if you're right up against the screen.
Overall: 8.8Duck Hunt may not be the greatest game on the NES, but it's definitely worth a mention when discussing the great games that it provided. Duck Hunt could offer more, but what it does offer is definitely worth a play. Or two. Or ten. Maybe I would give it another point if you could shoot the dog, but that's never going to happen. My conclusion: A little basic, but still a fun classic.

be very quit we are hunting Ducks tornadocam
Shhhh, be very quite we are hunting ducks. No, not really, but I'm going to be reviewing a well known NES classic called Duck Hunt. Story: 4Okay there really isn't much here plot wise. Its Duck season and you as the player must shoot the required number of ducks per stage to advance. However if you miss your hunting dog is not afraid to heckle you by laughing. Can you shoot the ducks or will you be a laughing stock courtesy of the dog. Duck Hunt also had another game included with for the NES and that was were you could shoot skits. There really wasn't much of a plot in the side game. The player just has to shoot skits to get points. Okay as it should be no surprise, there really isn't much to say about this plot. Its a shooter game and most of these type of games do not have much of a plot line. However, there are some things here that keep the rating from being lower. Having to deal with a heckling dog bumps the rating up. To me that shows creativity. I feel like the game introduces the game pretty well. We know what the game is about, and what the goal is. In the Skit side game its just your basic shoot skits for points. Nothing real special there. I give the story a 4 out of 10. It does not deserve higher because you are not going after anybody, no real bad guy (unless you consider the dog to be a bad guy for laughing at your goof ups). Graphics and Controls: 8 Duck Hunt really shines in its graphics. The backgrounds are the right color and really showed what the NES was real capable of doing. The trees look like trees and are nice and green. The grass looks right. I also like the blue sky with a few clouds as a background that was a nice touch. The ducks are colorful and are based off of the Mallard species of ducks, they are either green or blue just like the real species is. The dog is the right color too. The sprites in this game are very good. The Ducks have a death look when they have been shot which is hilarious. But how can forget the laugh of the dog. The makers of this game having the dog laugh was a bonus and really what made this game infamous. The graphics in the Skit game are also very good. The hills look like they are supposed too. The controls are nothing fancy as the control is the Nintendo zap gun. Its pretty basic. What you have to do is aim with the zap gun and pull the trigger. So there really is not much to say about the controls. The zap gun does feel smooth for this type of game though. At the end of the day I give the graphics a solid 8 out of 10. Sounds: 8 There are not a lot of sounds in this game. But the sounds the game does have are nicely done. The sound the zap gun makes is very good it sounds like a gun is supposed to in the video game world. The flying sound the ducks make is very good. Also the game has a jingle when you shoot a duck to let you know that you hit the duck. In the Skit game the skits make an explosion sound to let you know you blasted the skits. However, the best sound in this game is the dog laughing. If you miss the dog will laugh at you. The laugh though is a loud laugh so that really bumps up the rating. For a game that has limited sounds, the sounds in this game are golden. I give it an 8 out of 10. Replay Value and Depth: 6The Replay Value is good in this game. I remember when I first got this game. Being able to use the zap gun was a plus and made this game really fun. I remember as a young child having fun with this game. After I played some of my other favorite games such as Mega Man 2 and 3 and Super Mario I and II. I would play this game. My parents even enjoyed this game and played it a lot too. It became a family game were we would spend family time trying to get the highest score. We also played the skit game too. So this game does have decent replay value. As I have gotten older I have moved on to other games. But, once in awhile this is a fun game to play because it offers something different. The Depth in this game is decent for this type of the game. There are no power ups to get in this game, no items to get or anything like that. But the game does have several levels and gets harder as the levels increase. Also including the skit game also adds depth to this game. The player can advance to many levels so you can spend a good deal of time playing the Duck Hunt game or the skit side game. I give both the Replay and Depth value a 6 out of 10. Getting to use the zap gun is fun, having different levels and the side game is what bumps up the rating. I don't believe I can give the rating higher cause there are no items or power ups to collect. Difficulty: 8 Now this game on paper looks like an easy game. Its so easy to think oh its simple just shoot the ducks or skits in this game no big deal. That, though is easier said then done. At first the game is easy you might only get one duck on the screen. But as you get points more ducks appear on the screen. You as the player have to shoot them all down. It is so easy to miss a duck when there are multiple ones on the screen. I have done it several times. You only get 3 chances to hit a duck. But if you have 3 or more on the screen ugh it can be a big problem. Because you have to rapidly shoot them all down, which makes it easy to miss one. Also as you get more points and the levels increase. The ducks fly faster and can be gone in seconds again adding to the difficulty. I remember one time I made it to a higher level and had a high number of points. The next level saw the ducks flying from every direction and very fast too. If you blink you will miss no joke. So this game really tests your reflexes more than anything. Also if you miss a duck your dog, will heckle you by laughing loud at you. If you miss to many ducks you will get a game other and right before you do the dog will laugh at you. I also want to think he holds up signs too while laughing at you. So this game does not look to be difficult but it really is. I kind of like games that test your skills and reflexes like this one does. I give the difficulty an 8 out of 10. Overall: 8 I got this game as a dual pack. In the 80s Nintendo put this with the Super Mario Bros game. The cartridge was Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. There for awhile it came with NES systems. I remember playing this game a lot when I was kid. As I stated after playing some of my favorites me and my parents would play this game. We would see who could get the highest score. We also would aggravated when the hound dog laughed at us. Over the years this game has become a classic. But it is forever remember for the laughing dog. We would also play the skit game too. The graphics, sound and difficulty are very good in this game. I really like Nintendo having the dog laugh at you goofing up its so funny but can make you aggravated at the same time. This is one of the first games were you could use the zapper so that makes it more special. There really isn't nothing wrong with this game. The story line and depth may not be much but that is to be expected for this type of game. Overall I give Duck Hunt a good score of 8 out of 10. This is a good game and a classic game. It would be a great game to play as a family. So would I recommend this game. Yes I would recommend this game. It is a fun game to play and one that can be enjoyed for all ages from the young to the old. It would be a great game to introduce to new video game players. I hope you enjoy this game

Duck Hunt review! G@mehe@d
This game is one out of the 18 NES launch titles and it's a classic. The simple yet addictive gameplay will stay on you for a while, and the fact that you could use a little gun to play is really cool. Lets get into this game in detail.
GAMEPLAY B+: The gameplay is very simple. All you do is shoot ducks or discs depending on what mode your on. Despite it's extreme simplicity the gameplay is great for high score contests and anyone can play it. Even someone who has never touched a video game before can easily figure out how to play.
GRAPHICS C: There's not much to say about the graphics. They are pretty basic, and the environment you play in does not change at all. One thing that really angers some players is that when you miss a duck. Your dog laughs at you, then you just want to shoot him until he learns his lesson.
SOUND C: There's not very much music but the sound of the dog barking is pretty good considering that it's technically voice synthesis.
ADDICTIVENESS A: The game is endless so like the arcade games you play this game for high score. It can get pretty addicting, I spent a lot of time playing this game.
DEPTH C-: There's 3 different modes which adds some variety. the first 2 modes are the same with one slight difference mode 1 has one duck to shoot at a time and the second mode has 2 ducks at a time. Mode 3 is where you shoot clay disks instead of ducks. Each mode lasts forever.
DIFFICULTY FAIRLY EASY: It took a while for the game to get difficult. I had to play until round 12 for the game to get difficult

Duck Hunt Review :) claudevandog
I reviewed Super Mario Bros so I figured why not review the game packaged with it. So Duck Hunt is a game where a hunting dog is sitting in the bushes, waiting for some dead ducks. So your job is to shoot the ducks with your NES zapper. But since its Vizzed you cant use the zapper. What do you do? You use your cursor! I think the vizzed duck hunt is better than the NES game because you have to click on the ducks for them to die.
GRAPHICS: 9 - really good for 1984-85. You can really see the ducks and you cant miss 'em! SOUND: 8 - There is no music, but there were some cool sounds, like the sound when you shoot a duck, or when clay launches.
ADDICTIVENESS: 10 - For some reason shooting ducks over and over is SO FUN! When you get to later rounds, the ducks are harder to shoot.
STORY: 1 - There is none. DEPTH: 7 - There are 3 modes, witch was pretty good at its time.
DIFFICULTY: 4 - Not that hard, until you get to later rounds :). So if your bored and you wanna shoot stuff, then PLAY ME! ~ claudevandog

Duck Shootin Ddeltafox
A fairly easy game. Or so I think. Others may disagree and this is one of those were lag is something to thank. When your in the higher levels you actuly WANT the lag. Beacouse with the birds getting faster each round the more lag you got the easyer it is to shoot 'em. But a clasic gun game is fun. When you finaly find out what it is your trying to go for (beacouse it has no story) sutch as shooting 1,000,000 ducks in your all time gameplay, or simply gettting top score for playing for 10 hours straight. Whatever it is you should go for it. Make your own stroy with the game if you have to. It is an ok game but not something I play that mutch. So if you like guns and ducks this is your game. Happy hunting.

The most addicting game ever Slime Squasher
Overall rating: A-
The graphics aren't bad. They are, of course, 8-bit (I think), but that's not why you would play this game. Most of the time, you don't really care how the game looks anyway, you only care about the game it's self.
The sound, on the other hand, could use some work. The music isn't very good, and the sound of a gunshot if off a good bit. However, it's still a lot of fun to hear your dog laugh at you!
Addictiveness is what makes this game awesome. As far as I know, there is no end to levels, and there are 2 modes (not counting 2-player) As each level goes on, it gets harder and harder. Its like playing flappy bird in the way that you just want to beat the part you keep dieing on because its so hard.
Of all the good things that is included in this game, a story is not one of them. However, in this game, you really don't need a story! All you really need to know, is that you are a duck hunter, and you need to shoot some ducks.
One really good thing about this game, is its depth. As I've said before, I don't know how many levels there are, but there are a lot. Plus, there are 2 game modes (once again, not including 2 player)!
This game can get really difficult though. While the game starts off rather easy, as it goes on, it gets really hard. Its a lot like Tetris in that way. But the slope at which the difficulty comes is right between the anxiety difficulty, and boredom difficulty.
