One of the great classic games IgorBird122
Yes, The original Donkey Kong Game, this game pretty much started Donkey Kong and Mario into the video gaming industry, which both became well known franchises well into today. I do have a lots of ups and downs with this game. This game is really fun, but challenging at the same time which is pretty good for gamers that wants a challenge.
The Graphics:The graphics in this game is very decent for a game that is made in 1981, the levels are alright and for the items in the levels does look realistic, by the size of the item. For the character spites in the levels are very well done for it's time, and takes the shape of the characters we know today.
----------
The Sound:The Sound effects is pretty great for an early-80's game, although the walking, and the climbing does make kinda of a squeaky sound but for an early-80's game it is pretty understandable. For the jumping, this was pretty greatly done and used for future games to come.
For the Music, the title screen sounds really nice and the music in the game, even know they're only two levels that plays music, other than that, the music came out alright.
----------
The Addictiveness:For the addiction level, it's at an alright level, it's in a way that the game wants you to keep on playing and sometimes you really don't feel like playing it, it really depends of the player wants to play it or not, unless you're one of those people that wants to get the highest score on this game, then this game can be very addictive for those kind of gamers.
For me, I would play it here and there whenever I do feel like playing this game.
----------
The Story:The story goes that the big ape known as Donkey Kong (a.k.a. Cranky Kong) goes and kidnaps Pauline and only Mario can save her from Donkey. You are also dodging obstacle and climbing up ladders to get to Pauline and rescuing her from Kong.
----------
The Depth:They isn't too much depth into this game with only 3 levels, and it repeats after the 3rd level but the difficulty gets a little harder (which I will explain below). Although they're 4 modes to select on the menu screen, but they're pretty much the same thing, but the top 2 is 1 player and the bottom 2 is 2 players.
----------
The Difficulty:The Difficulty is pretty tough for this game, although they're only 3 levels, but those 3 are pretty tough and each time you're able to complete the 3rd level, you go back to level 1 and it get's a little more difficult to beat. Mostly if you get the hang of playing this game, the game is pretty easy for the gamer to play.
----------
Overall:Overall, this game is really fun, but tough to play. Do I recommend of you playing this game, I have to say, it is a pretty good game if you get the hang of playing this tough classic game. It's a game that you should try out if you haven't already.

Still an amazing game.. brittany8671
Do you remember 1981 when the original Donkey Kong arcade came out? I sure don't. I do remember eight years later first playing this game at a Dairy Queen. That game ate my quarters faster than.. Well it just ate a lot of my quarters. Then I picked up a Nintendo game that saved me quarters and a walk to the Dairy Queen. It was Donkey Kong on the NES and let me break it down for you.
10- Graphics are a ten because this was a port of a game that predated the original Super Mario Bros on the NES so it's important to hold it to that standard. The graphics are sharp and clear. You see a monkey at the top of the screen tossing barrels down at Mario and you can clearly see what you have to do. Big step up from the Atari days.
10- Sound, there isn't much to say other than it doesn't get repetitive and it's one of those themes that sticks in your head, which leads me to my next rating.
10- Addictiveness, Lets face it I guarantee you you will keep playing this game until you beat it. Why? It's because you wanna win. With an older game like this, even to this day, you find yourself playing the levels over and over until you get past them. Until you put that eight bit monkey in his place! Oh and save the princes, I guess that's important to.
10- Depth is great in this game. Monkey throwing barrels at you, must avoid to get to the top and save princess, AMAZING! I wish I thought of it first.
10- Difficulty, this game is difficult because you will find yourself playing some levels over and over to beat them. Even if this game isn't new to you, you will still be smacked down a time or lets face it a dozen but the game leaves little room for error you better have your jumps timed and your Mario in motion.
Overall- This is an amazing game and I recommend it. It was one of the first platform games out there and what a great experiment it was. Whether you are familiar with this game or not, revisit this classic and take it for a spin because much like a sports car this game never goes out of style.

Donkey Kong Review Marcmoney
Overall - 9
Donkey Kong on the NES. I think that this is one of the first Donkey Kong games that came out. It is one of the best classics from what Nintendo says. I remember playing this game a long time ago, maybe 3 or 4 years ago. I sucked at it, but now that I played it from this year, it has gotten easier. In this game, there are some positive things and some negatives things about this game. This game never ends the fun.
Graphics - 8
The graphics were okay at that time period. The way Mario looks is rememberable and Donkey Kong is what you expect to look like. The enemies and items are not too bad looking for an NES game. Its quality is good and it is probably better than games that have items that people would not know what it looks like.
Sound - 7
The sound is kind of confusing. First off, whenever Mario walks, he makes this squeaking sound. It also does the same noise when he climbs. The jumping is just weird. It sounds like an enemies got hit and died in an arcade game. Another thing that sucks is that there is no background music. It is just peace and quiet and you only hear the barrels falling. What kind of game is that where it has no music till you beat the level. :S
Addictiveness - 7
The game can get addicting, just like Super Mario Bros and Pacman. It is one of those games that you cannot stop playing and you want to beat the high score. That is what people were like in the past, but now in this decade, people seem to not give a crap about playing it because it is old and dull. I think that they are wrong. People these days still play this game. What I do not get is why it was not one of the Top 10 Ambassador Program for the 3DS. It is confusing, but I guess it came in 11th place. :P It gets boring when you play it for about a straight 30 minutes, unless if you are a pro at this game.
Story - 7
The story is one of those same stories that we keep hearing. Mario has to save a girl named Pauline from Donkey Kong. People thought that it is Peach, but it is not, it is Pauline. On Mario vs Donkey Kong games, they put Pauline in there instead of Peach. They still do that with the other Mario vs Donkey Kong games. I do not get why they would do this, but they probably wanted to keep the same series of people from the old days.
Depth - 5
The game does not have a lot of things. What I do not like about is that there is only 3 levels and after you beat the third level, it brings you back to the first level of the game, but only in a harder mode. I did not like this cause it was like playing the game over and over again. I hated it so much, but it was still fun since it gets harder.
Difficulty - 5
On a count of how good you are, it is easy, but if you are a beginner or that is not good at this game, it is hard for you. What is hatred about this game is that Mario cannot fall down at a distance. If you fall down from 2 inches up, you die. It is just horrible, but the rest is okay and easy, especially when you play the levels constantly.
Wrap Things Up...
Donkey Kong on the NES is a great classic game and I would recommend playing this game if you hadn't already. :P Out of all the negatives I have said in this review, it is still a pretty damn good game. If you have not played this already in your entire life, try it out, you will like it if you are good at these kind of games.

Donkey Kong NES review! G@mehe@d
Donkey Kong was an arcade machine made in 1980 and it got ported onto the NES in 1986.
GRAPHICS: The graphics look EXACTLY like the arcade version and it looks better than on any of the ports at the time. However the level design for screen 2 is a little ridiculous. Plus the NES could use that cut-scene that's in the first level where Donkey Kong climbs up the board and disorients the level.
SOUND: Like the graphics the sound is exactly like the arcade. There's not much to say here.
ADDICTIVENESS: Like most arcade games. It will be addicting to people who try to get big scores. I beat the game and then I quit. Mainly because I play games to beat them I do not go for high scores. The game gets harder and harder so I guess that's a reason to stay on.
STORY: Donkey Kong kidnapped Mario's girlfriend Pauline :S to the construction site. Mario attempts to save her but Donkey Kong will do ANYTHING to stop him. He will throw barrels and throw them into the oil to turn them into fireballs, he will throw anything he can find. Can Mario save Pauline, it's up to you!
DEPTH: There's only three levels instead of four and there's two difficulty modes A for advanced and B for beginner
DIFFICULTY: It might take some practice to beat the game. So for starting players I would suggest playing mode B. At first I got a game over on the first level but after a couple of tries I got to level 2 which is the hardest because it's vertical and if you fall down off a high height YOU WILL DIE. The last level is not very hard you just jump over the orange gaps and you won.

Donkey Kong (Classic) gamefreak0814
Overall - 9.5
This game is fun, I'll give it that. For it being one of the first games Nintendo ever introduced, it's also one of the funnest and most addicting games you'll ever play! The arcade version was fun and the NES version was less fun, but it was still fun!
Graphics - 8
This was the first game by Nintendo, right? Well what do you expect? It's not the easiest to look at over a long period of time, but it's one of the best games ever and what do you seriously expect from this age old game? I'll strain my eyes playing it, but at least it looks good(ish).
Sound - 5
Why Jumpman beeps every time he puts one foot in front of the other is beyond me! It gets seriously annoying listening to beeps all day. So if I were you, I'd mute this game before you hear ringing in your ears.
Addictiveness - 10
Though the sound may suck and the graphics aren't the best of the 21st century, it was one of the best games I've ever played and I've been playing it since I was a tyke. Don't bother fighting the awesomeness that is Donkey Kong 24/7. My longest time playing this game before started seeing red was probably about 15 hours. It's seriously addictive.
Story - 1
Mario always keeps to his promise of absolutely zero story especially back when he was Jumpman. Though I have to give it a one here out of respect. Basically you save the Princess. You hit the Kong in the head. And you live happily ever after, at least until the next game.
Depth - 5
The game is like never ending. Where is the ending to this game, huh? Though this game never seems to end, this is surely where it got it's 10 on addictiveness.
Difficulty - 10
At first it may seem easy, but it only gets harder and harder and harder and harder and harder.

This game is basically an Nintendo Entertainment System version of the arcade game Donkey Kong. I really liked trying to beat it its like playing an arcade game at home. And when vi zed came along I was able to enjoy it once again. Now of course there are many versions of Donkey Kong. The one I remember most was this one. And I also liked the Atari 7800 game because that one was similar but I thought this one had better sound. Overall the game was good and I really enjoyed it. The next one I will do is Mario Bros on Nintendo Entertainment System so stay tuned!

Donkey Kong Review Zacharyp10
The graphics for the time are very good so that's why I'm giving them 9.
The sound isn't very annoying but it can get repetive though the fact that it is for the NES and NES is a pretty old console I'll give it a 9.
This game is very addictive I had trouble stopping and I think it's worth being played several times so I'll give it a 8.
There isn't much of a story other than you're Mario trying to rescue err Paula I believe or maybe Princess Toadstool I don't know.
It's not that big but the addictiveness makes up for that.
If you don't like games high in difficulty I don't really recommend this to you although you can try it.

Bringing back the classic we all know and love! Gamewiz
I enjoyed this game. As a gamer, I always grew up with Mario, and didn't have this game in my library. This game really grows on you the more you play it. Here's a few highlights:
The addictiveness: For Mario, This game slightly delivers. It's age shows, but it will always be a classic that I adore.
The sound: When playing a Mario game, usually the sound makes you continue. In this case, the sound is bare and basic, but it gets the job done. The simplistic style makes it's aesthetic appeal shine. For it's time, the sound holds up, and for an arcade game, those types of dings, and beeps were what addicted kids to arcades.
The story, graphics, and depth are simplistic at best. The difficulty is easy once you learn the patterns. For a classic, I will come back to play this as long as it's on this site!

This game is very simple, the only keys required are the arrows and x to jump. This is super addictive for me even though there is very little to do when all you do is jump and move. All you have to do is save the princess who is at the top next to king Kong. The most difficult part of the entire game is taking down king Kong because you have to move around a lot and avoid the fire. However that is easy to do! One of the challenges for this game is the fact that you do not get to jump very high so timing is extremely important.
