Plain and simple, choose what pokemon region is your favorite and explain why you like that region in a post.

For me, I really like the Johto region for it's deeply rooted Japanese culture and architecture which is reflected in the region's temples, shrines, and gardens. I also really like the lore and mythology behind Lugia and Ho-oh as well

As always, don't spam and be respectful of other people's choices. Maybe not everyone likes Kanto or Hoenn, etc., so please be respectful of other people's opinions because they're
just opinions, there are no right or wrong answers here. It also goes without saying that all spam and flaming will be dealt with accordingly.

For your reference:

Gen 1- Kanto region
Gen 2- Johto region
Gen 3- Hoenn region
Gen 4- Sinnoh region
Gen 5- Unova region
Gen 6- Kalos region
Gen 7- Alola region

Now that that's been covered, post away!

Well, as far as I'm aware, I've only played up to Hoenn, so I can really just choose between less than half the regions out of pure experience. I may have been in Sinnoh or other regions in hacks, but it's not like I'd be able to judge them much.

Out of the ones I've played, I really liked the design of Hoenn. That bike path, the jumping bike, the safari zone... I really treasure my memories from the time I owned and played Sapphire, even if it was more than 10 years ago. Surely Kanto has become the myth where it all started, but it lacked a few things that have been polished over the years.

And well, I'm not sure if this is truly allowed, but my favorite out of all games (not just core games) is Orre, the location for Pokemon Colosseum. I really am in awe at the design of Phenac City and Agate City, so colorful and dynamic even though the game is rather old by today's standards. Realgam Tower is also magnificent, and for some strange reason I've grown to like The Under City. Of course, it's on a different level from the core games for being developed for a more powerful home console, so it really serves as a hint of what the Switch game can potentially draw out.

I really like the Johto region, since it's for Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, the game I'm more familiar with as a kid. I also REALLY like the Kanto region in the post game, which is super cool and interesting to go back in the previous game's area. I wish more games would do that.

Out of the ones I've played, Unova would have to be my favourite region. There's enough variety to keep me entertained and I just have a giant bias for Gen 5 in general. I can't really say much for Alola or Kalos since I never played those games. Nothing really stuck out to me about Sinnoh, Hoenn really did have too much water, and Johto and Kanto are both bland to me.
Orre is also worth a mention in focusing on a desert locale while still making things interesting.
