So I've started to notice something about Youtubers that I hadn't noticed before: I enjoy their old content a LOT more than their new content.

Now, this isn't always true. There are some that have remained fairly consistent in what they deliver over several years.

However, I have noticed that many of them have drastically changed their content quality. Video and editing quality seems to always go up. More time as a Youtuber means higher priced equipment and more experience and thus better quality video overall. I find that the more time that is put into making the video look nice or editing it a certain way takes away from the old feel that the Youtuber used to have.

I'm not sure why but I feel like the more "amateur" feel to videos is more enjoyable a lot of the time compared to the overall put on videos that get made later.

I feel like I'm a little off point in this little rant but I'm curious if anyone else feels this way? It's really tough because there are people I've been watching for years that I used to be super excited for a new video from that now I barely watch.

Anyone else feel this way?

Yeah, a lot more videos are more like TV shows than online videos to me now. It's still better than regular TV but it's getting noticeably worse in my opinion.

I feel the same way about multiple YouTube channels. I like changes in video format, but not drastic ones. Sometimes it's hard to believe they're the same YouTubers.

There are some people that I feel really get it right. Even though they have higher camera quality and things like that, they don't care as much about what they can do to get more popular.

I really like watching YuB because instead of trying to see what he can do to gain subscribers (or Yubscribers as he calls them ), he puts his current fans 1st and often responds to their comments on his videos. He also lets them give him suggestions for what to do next, but I think many YouTubers do the same thing.

Yes I feel the same way too. Some of the youtubers that I watched had earlier great videos. A few in particular explained what was going on, gave history, and details. Now they act goofy and it seems like they are just spewing a bunch of nonsense. The quality of videos is better but for the ones I used to watch it was like they no longer took it serious. I hardly watch their channels anymore.

A lot of videos have evolved in many ways. Especially watching the older youtubers that evolved from a causal video to a bigger budget and more professionally done. It's pretty cool to see the evolution, but it does show that most channels demand that kind of production to get the mainstream appeal.
