Eirinn : NES, SNES, N64...PS1, PSX, PS2, PS2 Slim, PS3, PS3 Slim, PS4. Slim, Pro...but tell us more about how if Xbox, XBox 360, and Xbox 1 could be viably different? Lets not forget the top loading NES, the NES Classic, or the retcon line of gaming. Simply put, if a consoles very name confuses a person, they probably think we play "Pokeman" on our "Nyetindo" (pardon the "old man-nerrism". Also, since E3 Microsoft has officially stated it IS the Xbox One X. Giving it another name is like nicknaming a Charizard. You can call him Mr. Burnz, but he's still a Charizard.

I WIn Also : Being an avid Xbox user, I have zero problems with my console. I do hear, however, that Sony will not fix the power supply box issue. You know, where cockroaches go in there for the heat, and essentially ruin your system? The literal definition of "buggy" indeed. But what with framerate being a pain already, I'm sure it's a breeze playing Forza, the best rated racing game of this generation. Oh. Sony don't have that. Cant wait until KH3 for Xbox1 though. ????

manicman66 : Calm down, man. I didn't attack anyone. And you seem to have misread my post.

There were also two problems with your list. First off, PSX originally referred to the first PlayStation, then to a Japan only system. It was a bad call, as is PlayStation insisting on calling the original PSX the PSone now, since that was the name of the slim PSX, but it happened.
Second, adding slim after a number is exactly what I'm driving at here: if it says "Slim" or something after the number, then it's obvious that we're talking about a newer model of the same system.

Here's where I think you misunderstood my post though. Xbox One X isn't confusing. What was confusing was thing's opening post saying "Xbox Scorpio" instead of "Xbox One Scorpio". The latter would have been fine, and so would Xbox One X, but dropping the One would have been confusing.

And yes, WE get it, but we have to consider that some people aren't exactly... shall we say... sharp? It's bad marketing to say "Well if they're real gamers, they'll understand." You want everyone to buy a console, not just "real" gamers, or younger people. If that seventy year old man wants a console, you want your console to be the one he picks. Plus those older folks are often buying consoles for kids or grandkids, so you need something that they can recognize. For example, if my parents were to get me a console for Christmas the year that PS5 released, they would know "okay, he has a 4, and this is a 5, so it's newer." whereas if I were a Nintendo gamer, they would be confused as to which was the new one. Heck, my dad still calls the Wii U just plain Wii. Can you imagine how many kids got a Wii for Christmas when the U launched?

So yeah, Xbox One X is fine for ease of recognition, I never argued otherwise. What I did say though was that they could have thought of a better addition to the name than another X. That's just my opinion on how it sounds, which was the whole point to the thread after all, right? No offense to the fans.

Eirinn : I might have mispoken in my original post. On "paper", I call it the XBOX ONE Scorpio or XBOX Scorpio. But in person, I just simply call it Scorpio

Whicever the name anyone is calling it, it's officially Xbox One X
https://www.vizzed.com/games/xbox-one-x-console-xb1-xbox-one-103595-game

Microsoft only has one current console/handheld, hence the name Xbox One.
