I just read in one of my local newspapers today two weird news stories that I thought I would share:in the first one a man in jacksonvillle,fla. suffered injuries after he accidentally shot himself in the penis when he sat on a gun in his car according to wkmg reports the 38 year old man sat on a gun that was resting on the driver,s seat in his nissan altima when it accidentally fired in a panic the man drove home and ran straight to the bathroom where his 25 year old girlfriend had noticed a gunshot wound in his groin area she then rushed him to a hospital where he underwent surgery it,s also possible that he could face firearm charges because he,s a felon who was convicted in 2004 of cocaine possession
the second article is so far one of the strangest things I have ever heard of:
the mayor of a mexican town celebrated wedded bliss this weekend with his new blushing bride-a crocodile
cnn reported that victor aguilar,the mayor of san pedro huamelula exchanged vows with the reptile who was decked out in a white wedding dress and a flower crown on her head the bizarre ceremony is believed to be a tradition that dates back several centuries in the town according to the news report the wedding symbolizes the union of two mexican indigenous groups: the chontales and the huaves and according to news agency efe,in pre-hispanic times the two groups lived in conflict until the son of the chontales married the daughter of the king of huales both groups claimed to have the power to bring good luck to a harvest.in the wedding,aguilar represented the chontales while the crocodile played the role of the huale.the groom stated the huaves people call the crocodile a princess and according to the groom he said the role he plays is to be the husband of the princess.the ceremony ended with dancing,including a first dance between bride and groom. the faux nuptials is part of festivities that honour san pedro huamelua,s patron saint,saint peter

Wow, after reading the first story about a guy shooting himself in the johnson (and going home before the hospital lol), I didn't expect the next one to be so strange. An actual ceremony, with an actual mayor marrying an actual crocodile princess? But..what? I suppose I get where they are coming from, treaties involving symbolism and rituals or ceremonies between tribes or groups of people is not entirely uncommon...but why an actual marriage ceremony with a crocodile bride I wonder lol. Why not a big banquet with an elaborate crocodile idol? Also, crocodiles can dance? haha

OK, I cringed and laughed at the same time on that first story. What a way to get caught with a firearm after being convicted of a felony... I almost feel bad for the guy and the heckling he'll get in jail for shooting himself in the nether regions.

..can a crocodile dance? That seems like it would be woefully cumbersome and somewhat dangerous... I get the symbolism, but it seems like there could be much more convenient alternatives. :/

Honestly, I wonder if my girlfriend is from the same town as the mayor in the second story because she keeps joking that she's going to marry a frog instead of me

As for the first story, I hope that man is not able to have kids after that. No one who does not know proper gun safety should have kids
Oh and the cocaine thing is also pretty bad.
