I'll try to make this quick... You know how, when you go to Edit Profile, the options to change your user picture and minipic appear first? I created two JPEG images earlier today, intending to alter both, and neither one works when I try to alter it. It keeps saying, "Your picture attatchment is in the wrong format please try again."

Does anyone know why this is screwing up and how to fix it?

Well, for User picture the picture should be no larger then 200x200 pixels, should be either .jpg .jpeg .gif or .png and must be below 25 KB's in size.
For Minipic the picture should be no larger then 11x11 pixels, should be either .jpg .jpeg .gif or .png and must be below 5 KB's in size.

One other thing to keep in mind, I read somewhere that the extension has to be in lower case.
So if your pictures filename is picture.JPEG it wont work, it must be picture.jpeg

The user picture i'm trying to get to work is exactly 200x200, is a .jpeg, and is 20.3 KB. The minipic is also a .jpeg and 837 bytes. It's 12x13, but the previous one I used was 300x200 and resized automatically.

Neither of their filenames have the format name after them. Should they?

Well if you right click the picture and click properties it should tell you the full file name there, and you can post what it says.

If it says something like:
Type of file: JPEG Image (.JPEG) or Type of file: JPEG Image (.JPG)
Then it's wrong, it should be like:
Type of file: JPEG Image (.jpeg) or Type of file: JPEG Image (.jpg)

When I copy/paste the file name into the text place, the letters are capitalized. How do I change them?

You will need to turn on file extensions for a litttle while.
Open up Windows Explorer by clicking My Computer (or Computer is you're on Vista).
In the menu click on Tools, Folder Options, View (on vista you may have to press the alt key first to get the menu up).
Then, uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" then click OK.

Image upload: 386x479 totaling 50 KB's.

When you have done that, go to the picture, right click and click Rename.
It should show the whole filename including the extension, just go to the part with the extension and change it all into lowercase.
You should be able to upload the picture then.
To hide extensions again just reverse the process above.
