I have been running around in grass, surfing, running in caves, etc. for a good ten minutes and can't get anything to spawn unless I use sweet scent. I have closed the emulator completely and then reopened and loaded the save, both the in-game save and the auto saves and I still can't find any Pokémon. How do I fix this?

Edit: I just started over and found what I did wrong. For anyone who may have the same issue: I had surfed from Goldenrod to Olivine and I guess somehow I made a glitch. When I went up to see Suicune at the end of the island, Eusine's avatar was there, I talked to him and it gave a random NPC message (something like "This is a random NPC message generated to prevent crashing upon talking to an NPC without a script), then I went to Suicune, then Eusine battled me, etc. It was either that, or the fact that the boulders are faulty up there (so pretty much, don't use rock smash).
