I have seen this game in a lot of places. When it came out on the Xbox 360 a couple of years back I thought about getting it, but my stupid self wanted to get other games like the Newly-released (at the time) Minecraft, or Castle Crashers, thinking that those games would be better than a "simple side-scrolling game".

I was wrong.

I got the game about a year or two ago on the PC (on sale I think?) and would like to give my opinion on it.

Graphics: 9
The graphics in this game are very unique, they are 4k resolution sprite sheets that the characters and the landscape uses. Which is good because it gives it more of a "hand drawn" appearance that would make it resemble an anime or webcomic (which I like both of those genres) so it was a good choice, but the bad part comes with the fact that the game is surprisingly CPU-heavy and I didn't figure out why until I started to look at the graphics more closely. Also the characters are detailed and the game also has post-processing and other effects that make the game look better with each setting.

Sound: 9
What is there to say? The music is a beautiful arrangement of action-adventure music made with an orchestra, it sounds great. The music fits well with the scenery and similar to Undertale (another favorite indie game of mine), it doesn't get old and still sounds great every time you listen to it, whether it is in a stage or if you are just listening to the soundtrack online, it is still great music. The sound effects are pretty cool too, that also match in with the environments perfectly.

Addictiveness: 8
It is a fun side-scrolling game that is full of things to do and will keep you occupied on it for many hours. The game is great, although it needs a little more to it, I will explain on the depth.

Story: 10
It is an interesting story about YOU, the protagonist, Dust waking up in a field with a sword named Ahrah that is calling you to wield it (as similar to Fi in Skyward Sword, it has a companion inside of it). You also find the Guardian of the sword, a nimbat named Fidget, who tries to stop you, but ends up joining you on your quest anyway. The rest of the game is for up to you to play.

Depth: 8
There is a lot to do in the game after you complete the main story. The story is a bit short though, but there may be a sequel coming soon (at the point I am writing this). Yet it does not matter as you can go on a bunch of side quests, (and supposedly it is possible to reach above 100% completion in this game) one of them involving a 1000-hit combo, which is actually pretty hard to do, but not impossible.

Difficulty: 8  The game can be pretty hard to play at times. I would tell you guys at which parts (but that would be spoiling the game). This is the difficulty towards the beginning of the game, but gets easier when you level up only by a little bit though. As hard as it is, it is still fun to play and see what else there is to do.

OVERALL: 9.3
This game shows why a side-scrolling game is worth playing. It gets everything right and even adds more. With solid characters and story I recommend this game to almost anybody. The game is around $15 online and will keep you addicted for hours. I have not seen even Super Mario Bros. go to this level of fun yet. It is probably the most fun I have had in an indie game in years.
