I personally played this port before with friends. I at first could not believe that this was possible on the Super Nintendo, but it was. The fact that it was using the Super-FX chip version 2 and a special game engine that was built specifically for the Super Nintendo console.

Graphics: 7
The graphics are a bit low-resolution and things like the floors are texture-less due to the game engine that it was made on, still, it looks great for the console and almost plays like the PC version.

Sound: 7
The sound is a bit compressed and sounds like a person taped the sounds from the original game on a cassette tape and compressed it even more. The music though is great and is what made this port better than the Sega 32x port of the game. (I may make a review on it later)

Addictiveness: 5
Similar to the PC port, it is fun but the controls have some input lag and the frame rate barely reach 20 frames per second. It has more lag and is a bit more unplayable compared to the PC version of the game. It is still fun though, but just a bit awkward to get used to the controls.

Story: 4
Not much of a story is given other than you are a marine on the planet of Mars. A breakout of demons happens and you are to put an end to it. It is a simple story and it gets the job done.

Depth: 7 The game is bigger than any other game on the Super Nintendo console at the time. It has the first two episodes of
Doom and big areas to play through. There is plenty of things to do in the big stages that are programmed in the game.

Difficulty: 8
The game can be hard to play at times because of the input lag with the controls of the game, this can be fixed by overclocking the cartage and making it run faster, but it is not easy to do and may eventually cause corruption in data if not done correctly.

OVERALL: 7.7
It is a good game, but compared to the PC port it can be compared as a weak port. I recommend the 1995 PC release of The Ultimate Doom or modern source ports such as GzDOOM. The cartage can be expensive to find, yet it can be kind of easy as it was one of the only games on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System to have a bright RED color on the cartage, but is found for over $20-30 and is actually quite hard to find.
