A while back, I wrote about why I'm generally not interested in the horror genre and briefly mentioned that it was because any of my dreams would pwn it any day, but shortly afterwards, I received a response asking what kind of dreams I usually get. I was kind of surprised because no one would usually ask me that offline, much less online. I didn’t know how to explain it all in full at the time, so I finally came up with the idea of simply posting some of my dreams here now (some of the good, bad and bizarre ones, and with discretion of course) so that you could "pick my brain," so to speak. Before I begin, however, I would like to make one thing clear: I will not be mentioning any names or relationships or expounding on any religious beliefs, and I don't believe in coincidence (thanks to my dreams). I also won't give the exact dates/times of these dreams, even though every entry does actually have one. For my own safety, I'm also not going to post the dreams in the order that I had them, because I’ve told some people about them before. ^^0;; Finally, I frequently don't know who I am in my dreams even when I wake up because there are times in my dreams when my consciousness (if one could call it that) moves from person to person, male to female, alien to creature, etc. For the sake of these entries, even if I refer to the people in the dreams as family, friends, mother, father, siblings, etc., please keep in mind that I'm actually talking about the family/friends etc. of whoever I was in the dream, not necessarily the real me. (Yeah, that's how crazy my dreams are. lol) Certainly, I recognize some of the people in my dreams but often I wake up and think to myself, "Wait... I never had any relatives like that, what the? And I've never been to this place before, or had these types of experiences, so why am I feeling so happy/sad?"

There was a time when I did consider drawing out my dreams just to see if they would make it into the horror business, but then I realized I really don't want to see any of those things from my dreams come to life. What if one day, as a surprise, someone comes up with the brilliant idea of trying to give me a surprise birthday party and invited all of my friends but had them all dress up as those things from the dreams? That would be a total nightmare for us all. =/

So now, without further ado, here are the first entries. I guess I'll start with something a little more light-hearted. Feel free to share your own dreams/nightmares below. Just remember to adhere to the rules of Vizzed and try not to make them too graphic. x_X

Dream #1

There was a man with blue hair and another with red hair. oO They were part of a group of people that were surrounded by creatures that continuously try to attack them randomly in a cave they are passing through. The people are on a quest, and all of them must reach the center of the caves. I don't remember exactly why and don't remember much about the dream, just that the one person with blue hair was the vanguard, and had the sharpest eyes (could see the enemies coming from far away) and the one with pink hair had the fastest reflexes, so he walked behind the one with sharpest eyes to help eliminate most of the enemies before they could reach the group. The enemies looked a bit like alien creatures from the movie Aliens and the entire atmosphere of the dream reminded me of a scene out of either The Hobbit or one of the Lord of the Rings stories. It was an odd dream, rather random, and I have no idea what could have led to such a dream. Overall, it seemed to be more like a dream for story ideas (more like anime). oO

Dream #2

At first I was in a classroom, surrounded by old high school classmates. We were learning in class, in a dingy old classroom, with old-looking hallways and dusty whiteboards. I was laughing and talking about who I had always thought seemed “super-smart/brilliant.” (I somehow named a few names and I'm surprised I could remember it all in a dream.) Everything seemed to be fine, and nothing was out of the ordinary… Suddenly, something happened, and the class seemed to have been evacuated. For some reason, I stayed behind. I think it was because there were people I knew that were not evacuated yet. In any event, it was discovered that there were black things/creatures (aliens?) that were invading the classrooms through the vents, some parts of the roofs, and the doorways. I’m not sure who I was in the dream, but I had something like a shotgun with me wherever I went after I left my first classroom. I walked along several hallways, shooting the things that came out at me. In several of the cases, they turned out to be people that worked at the school… x_X I think the people had gotten possessed by the aliens or something, or infected by a virus at least. They lashed out at me the same way that the alien things did, and so I had to incapacitate them… T_T Then, in one classroom, I found that a group of students had not been evacuated in time. The children seemed young (maybe elementary students?), but they had not been infected by the virus, or been attacked yet. The strange thing was I found a family member also among the group of students. She was either teaching them, or was just in the room when the incident occurred. In any event, I ordered the children to be hidden and told a few people that were also helping me out to guard one of the other doors while I guarded another door. I had walked outside into the hallway, and I saw a broken vent a little further down (kind of around the corner). I aimed into the vent, but somehow my instincts told me that the alien things were no longer there. I hurried back to the classroom and went to guard a door on the other side. Somehow, I knew that the things would attack that door and not the door with which I had just rejoined the classroom (maybe it was because I saw the vent was empty? and there was nothing coming along the hallway outside). Anyways, I told my family member to stand behind the door, against the wall so that the creatures would not see them when they first enter the room. Unfortunately, my family member (I don't know who she is in real life) was not the brightest light in this dream. She stood behind the door in a place where, when the creatures burst through the doors, I would be able to shoot through the creature right into her foot, which was exactly what I did. I had aimed a bit higher at first, but realizing that I would hit her, I aimed lower so that it grazed her knee. After being hit, she moved to the right, out of harm’s way. I proceeded to annihilate the creature, and whatever came at me afterwards. In the end, I had the sense that only one or two of the creatures were still left alive; I was on my way to get the rest of them when I woke up. However, I had the impression that the school would be safe, and that I would have eliminated all the creatures had the dream continued. All in all, it was a scary/frightening dream out of a horror movie, but it seemed to end on a positive note. For all the dreams I have, I usually have to link them to an event that would occur within a year, but I had a lot of trouble with figuring out what this one meant. x_X It was because of dreams like this that I sometimes feared sleeping. It’s sad, because I often dream, even when I am so exhausted I fall into a deeper sleep than usual. That makes things worse when I dream about something I would really prefer to wake up faster from. The sense this dream gave me was something along the lines of Aliens mixed with I Am Legend and the game Counter-Strike (with the office map). It was very strange and bizarre, considering I hadn't seen any of those films or games in a while.

Dream #3

I dreamt I was some kind of bride? The girl I was in the dream was married to someone who could build stuff, and she was helping to set up a new store. There were a lot of people pinning up stuff on the walls (probably signs). There was one incident in which she put something (a coin?) into a claw grab game machine to try to get it to clip onto a stuffed animal and it almost did, but at the last second, the stuff animal dropped back into the game machine. Dismayed, she looked at the stuffed animal and said, "I feel sorry for it." Then, she started walking away with a guy and another girl. They were all eating large pieces of raw fish (sashimi) as they walked to the store. I woke up when she started admiring the walls that were now completed, and she started to look at the machine next to the stuffed animal one, which held jewelry instead.

Dream #4

I dreamt about winning a $31,000,000 Apple computer. oO rofl That was really weird in that it was part of a “lottery,” held before other former classmates, and it was one of six choices that we were presented with. I got to go first, so I was able to choose the most expensive one…. I’m not sure why it was all “free” either. I had this dream on the night that a friend said they dreamt someone was biting the back of their skull. D= … Their dream was much freakier. =/

Dream #5

In this dream, I was meeting with a professor that I have never before met in real life. In fact, I met several people, and they were all in places I had never been to before. I don’t remember what the cities were called, but I went from place to place meeting them briefly until I met one last professor with whom I had a long chat. I spoke to him about the feasibility of writing about a specific topic for my essay, and he disagreed with me completely about some aspect of the essay. Thus, I began to explain my point of view and tried to get him to see why the essay would work. I had the distinct impression that it was something like a thesis that I would be writing. I was in the middle of convincing the professor when I was awakened by the sound of my cell-phone ringing. lol

In a later part of the dream (or was it earlier?), I dreamt that I was about to perform a short skit/show (one minute total) in front of an audience that consisted of classmates and teachers I had never met before in real life. I was at a loss of what to perform, and freaking out because I knew we really didn’t have a topic (how does one prepare for a presentation that was only decided in a dream? lol), but for the sake of my partner in the show, I did my best to keep calm to come up with a topic. I did not have much time left, and had less than a minute to finalize my dance and ideas. I decided to do a dance/mime(?) about water and “bathing.” I chose the topic of bathing, because it pertains to cleansing, keeping oneself clean, and how rituals have been performed both in the past and present for various purposes. I thought that by performing a skit/dance about bathing, I could also create a metaphor for how the act(s) of bathing/washing/cleansing have always been important to humans. I woke up thinking that for having been an idea created within a dream, the idea was rather realistic and something that I really might have chosen in real life, both to research and to present as part of an actual artwork. Think along the lines of water, creation, life, cleanliness, purification, rituals, the mysterious oceanic depths that have yet to be understood in full, flowing motions (if one was dancing), whirlpools (to be delineated through pirouettes), the power of a tsunami, drinking water for sustenance, and so forth. Personally, given a good combination of dance moves and ideas/connections, the water dance could really work well as a celebration and metaphor. When I woke up, I was briefly disoriented; apparently, I had really thought I would be presenting the idea, and that I had been awake all along. It was only during the waking moment that I realized I had been dreaming, and started laughing at myself for having been freaking out inside a dream. I also began to wonder if the only reason I agreed to perform the skit/dance was because my subconscious knew I was dreaming…

Dream #6

I had a strange dream that I was swimming with my cousins, friends, and some random people. There wasn’t really a pool guard or anything, so I was just randomly swimming until they told me I had to watch some people in the pool. A few cousins started asking me what I will be doing (after I get out of the pool maybe?), and we started making plans for some type of meeting, race or competition… They told me to meet them at K__ (a street or road name I'd never seen before), and we would hold the meeting there… There was a symbol that came up in the dream, and it was a red circle and 1/3rd of it was blue. The sign was flashing in the dream before I woke up. Again, I had to try to link this dream to something that happened in real life later (the meeting went well, I think).

Dream #7

I had a strange dream about me joining some singing/dancing competition (again). lol I was supposed to sing/dance to 3 songs of my choice, with my own choreograph, but I opened my CD booklet and found that I only had 1 song to sing. ( XD The horror of it all.) We (a group of people that were somehow counting on me) were already short on time, and I only had about 10 minutes to try to figure out what to do, on my way to the arena. Once there, I was ushered up onto the stage, where I proceeded to "sing/dance/improvise" for the first song while thinking of what to do for the 2nd song. The 2nd song came on, and I didn't know it, so I started singing nonsensical words to it, as if those were the real words, and danced to it. Occasionally, I'd add in a few real words of Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, English and some other random languages. At the end, I yelled a phrase in Japanese as part of the dance (okay, that's enough now!), and the song ended that way. The 3rd song came up, and again, I had to improvise. I decided to hum along this time and do part of what I did for the 2nd song. It was crazy to say the least, but somehow I managed to get by in the competition (I still can't figure out what its rules were). lol Some people liked it I guess, so I was supposed to go for an encore (sigh) and I was thinking of what to do next when I suddenly realized it was a dream and woke up. As usual, that was a very bizarre dream. I often think that my dreams are actually more stressful than most everything I do in my real life. x_X

Dream #8

I dreamt that I was at a restaurant type of place except they had tons of candy and desserts. Two other people were eating with me, and one was trying to make everyone else pay the bill. We were trying to eat as fast as we could so the last person would have to pay. Crazy. Anyways, I finished eating, went to the front of the store and saw that there was a small wall with posts of people's names and grades and some random pictures/photos. I looked around on it and proceeded to congratulate the people that I knew on their achievements. Apparently, if you got on the wall, you could get a present (a bag full of candies, desserts, and other foods like muffins/cookies etc.) of your choice. I was starting to walk away when suddenly someone stopped me and said, "Hey! Wasn't your picture on this wall a while ago? Congratulations!" I blinked, wondering what they meant, having no recollection of that ever having happened.

"Um... No, I don't think I was ever-" I was cut off by someone else saying that they remembered seeing a big picture of me on the wall about a year or so ago or six months. They said I had gotten some pretty good grades (I think that's when I realized I was asleep and dreaming), so my picture made it up onto the wall. I stared at them, and my dream person either started "recalling" something or decided it would be best to go along with them. "Oh yeah... I wasn't around at the time, so I didn't get to see that." The people congratulated me, then went away. I went outside and saw some of the people playing games. There was a rather large 3x3 game going on that I thought was chess at first, but upon closer inspection, realized that only the board resembled a chessboard. The people had been putting chess pieces down on the board (only white rooks and random pieces), along with tennis balls with large toothpicks stuck in them. When I first glanced at the game and thought it was chess, I asked one, "What color is that?" (In reference to the tennis balls.) They did not immediately reply since they were engrossed in their game. Then, I looked at the pattern more closely and realized instantly that it wasn't really chess they were playing. "Tic-tac-toe!" I thought it was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen in a dream. Rather than X for one person and O for another, they were using white chess pieces and orange tennis balls with toothpicks. I cracked up for a while before I finally woke up. I still think that was one of the more amusing dreams. XD

Dream #9

I dreamt that many packages wrapped in cloth were being sent on wires/lines to a dark city. We were viewing what was happening through a bunch of tall grass. I don’t know why we were in the tall grass in the first place, but I distinctly recall it felt like a very important mission (tracking where these packages were going), and the overall atmosphere was something like a scene out of Disney’s Robin Hood. lol

Dream #10

I was supposed to find an office to turn in some homework. I wandered from building to building until I finally found it, and then I saw that the office had a huge sign with the word "HOMEWORK" in large letters above it. oO;; I laughed a bit when I recalled that once I woke up. What kind of place places a sign like that? XD I was surprised I didn’t wake up any sooner. =P

Dream #11

In this dream, it we were playing chess with rock, paper, scissors. It was a dream with manga and Celestials. oO;; (I don’t really know how to explain that, other than they looked like Celestials from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya). We had to try to save a girl that was kidnapped, and we were all running away from some people. I don’t remember much of what happened after that, so I must have gone on to other dreams from there. The last dream had a life or death game/tea party. At first, no one wanted to play, but then someone revealed the prizes for joining the game. The parents of the kids saw $3,000.00+ rewards and wanted their kids to join. Some of the kids still said no, but their parents pressured them into sitting down in the circle which meant they were going to play. In the end, it was revealed that the game would slowly eliminate the kids one by one. Only the winner at the end was allowed to live. I woke up horrified and thought it was one of the worst nightmares I'd had in a while. I woke up thinking that the parents had basically sold their kids’ lives for 3k. x_X

Dream #12

I had a scary dream about my family (a random family in the dream) being in our car on the highway in a certain city. It was raining pretty hard (torrential rain) and many people were driving badly as a result. All of a sudden, a car came out of nowhere and my father swerved our car to the right. However, since the ground was slick with rain, the car lost control and began to spin, once, twice, towards the left lanes. Everyone in the car was panicking, but my father appeared to know what he was doing. Even while we spun towards the left lanes, he somehow managed to adjust the car so that it aligned with the left-most lane so that we were going forwards again, as if nothing had happened, even though many other cars around us had been crunched. To our amazement, at no time did we collide with any other cars, and we continued on. It was at that point that I realized I was dreaming, and I woke up stunned. I guess I was happy that I got to see mad skillz up close...? lol

Dream #13

I was in a dream in a strange world where people kicked basketballs around and tossed them off of high buildings. Then, the kids would walk off of the buildings and somehow manage to bounce back up into the air, presumably without hitting the ground below. Even when I peered over the edge of the building, I couldn't see what caused them to bounce back. It appeared that really was a sidewalk and pavement below, but there were no ledges or anything between the top of the building and the concrete. Needless to say, I was thoroughly confused. Finally, towards the end of the dream when I started realizing that I was dreaming, I decided to try walking off the ledge myself. I fell for a long time, and my body started telling me to wake up before I hit the concrete. I resisted the urge to wake up (crazy, right? XD ), and found myself somehow going up again without hitting the concrete. In fact, I was going up very quickly. I was confused when I woke up, wondering if my body had decided to force me to be able to fly up to keep me alive and able to wake up, or if I had discovered how the kids had been flying back up in the dream. This again, was another dream that made absolutely no sense.

Dream #14

I dreamt about a girl that married the wrong person. She married someone she didn't love as much as someone else, and it was too late for her to get back together with the person she really liked.

We were all in a car climbing up some mountains towards a hotel/resort and it was then that I noticed the colors in the sky were astoundingly beautiful. We arrived at the hotel/resort and got out to look around.

There was a beautiful white cloud against the bluest sky I’d ever seen, and there were iridescent, shining lines that stretched away from the cloud. I said in the dream that it was probably one of the most beautiful scenes I'd ever seen in my life, among the top 5 at least. The people I was with walked into our destination and started unpacking to stay for a while. Afterwards, I went out to walk for a bit and there was a lake-like sea that stretched from one side of the hotel to the other. There were tons of people in the sea, and they were all playing, so for some reason, I didn't think it was an ominous sea, even though you really couldn't see anything once you got in.

The sea was completely opaque and dark black with rolling waves and yet I went in to swim and reached the other side. The waves couldn't push me around, and I was not afraid of them even though the sun was going down and dusk was approaching a little too quickly. For some unknown reason, towards the end of the swim, the other swimmers suddenly started bleeding randomly. oO;; I remember asking why they were bleeding, and thought it was strange because I was perfectly fine when I got out of the water. I did think though (when I was swimming) that there might have been sharks and orcas and other things in the water, but since I wasn't afraid of them, I just kept going on without panicking in the least. If anything, I was more perplexed by why I had been alone when I went swimming and when I left, even though I'd arrived at the resort with several other people. Overall, it was a weird dream that was probably supposed to make me feel uneasy, but actually left me feeling confused instead.

Dream #15

I had a dream where I was somehow talking to my relatives about cars (I guess I was trying to figure out where my car was?). When I found it, I got into my car and a few other people got into the car with me. We were on some sort of mission to do something that was never really clear to me, but I didn’t question it and ended up heading onto the highway. On the highway, a woman in the car suddenly told me to stop along the side of the road where lots of large, pretty flowers were growing, but they were growing at quite a distance from each other. I thought it was weird and had a sinking feeling, so I refused, but she insisted so I finally stopped. We ended up inside a giant field of flowers and found that it was a huge field of tall, yellowed and hardened grasses. The strange part was inside each row of grasses were what appeared to be a shrine(?) of flowers on a pole sometimes, and on the flowers were some laminated paper signs with what appeared to be dates or license plates on them. I was creeped out at first because to me, it looked like a mass car accident had occurred here, in fact FOR MILES ALL AROUND, and I figured that’s what all the tons of signs and flowers were for (like the Drive Safely signs one sees after an accident x_X ). However, how an accident like that would have happened here was beyond me, and it seemed like they were hiding these flowers and signs within the tall grasses, which had obviously been growing for quite a while now. I thought about it more carefully and walked into one of the rows with another girl. This girl had begun to “investigate” what the signs were, and I got the feeling that she was thinking of going to pick some flowers for someone that we all knew and that had passed away. Near the end of one of the rows, the girl stopped and I realized that there were other people standing there, too. One was looking at what the girl was doing (I guess they didn’t know what these things were either), and I started trying to explain what I thought these things were. I said the signs had strings of numbers on them which made them look like dates. For some reason, I also said I thought it was a mass grave of some kind (rather than an accident like I originally thought, although mass grave did make more sense), and the signs had no names on them because people didn’t really know who they were. As soon as I finished speaking, I could feel tons of “auras” direct themselves towards me from all sides/every direction and I shivered. It was as if I was right and all the spirits/souls that were there suddenly turned their attention to me, but I didn’t know why. I wasn’t sure all of them were malicious though. Either way, that’s how I woke up, because the pressure from that feeling was completely and utterly overwhelming/overpowering. I woke up breathing hard and gasping for air. The person that had been listening to me had more or less agreed with me though, that this was more of a burial site than a mass accident site. In any case, I did try to treat it as a burial site when I first set foot in there, so I should have been okay… maybe. If the spirits there had found me disrespectful, well, I’m sorry. x_X I still don’t know what the rules were for being there. In any case, there was a sense of sadness as well when I went in, and I got the feeling that a lot of the people (if indeed there were people in there), had been casualties of war and just received a hurried burial along with scores of other unidentified people, and thus they were only given the date on which they were being buried. To this day, I still wonder what made me dream such a dream. Maybe it was because of a book that I’d been reading?

Dream #16

I dreamt of an alien invasion or something like that. I kept running and running everywhere, trying to find allies and escape enemies and spies. The most memorable thing was probably seeing a relative looking into the sky at a large object. I had seen the object too, so I took pictures of it in the sky with my new, good camera. The large object, among others that looked slightly different, was comprised of tons of cubes arranged into a sphere. I described the colors to a girl in the dream, saying, "The cubes were red, green, brown, and gray... in a sepia tone." She seemed skeptical until I said that. Later on, I told my relative that I had taken the pictures because I thought the sphere was lovely. I was both surprised and not surprised to see that the photos showed nothing where the sphere had been. I looked up and the sphere was still in the sky. Many of my photos had grown dark in nature, and the one photo that gave me "proof" the sphere had been there was a photo I had taken by trying to shoot up right under it during the daytime. All around me had been rocks, except for where the sphere had floated in the air above the rocks. I was half horrified to find I had taken a photo of the blue sky beyond... the camera seemed to have taken a photo of a giant blue sphere of sky. I decided then that there was no more point trying to take photos of it or of looking through other darker (time of day) photos taken progressively as the sun went down. Somehow, in the dream, I "woke up" and told my relative all about the photos and the sphere. He frowned and showed me the "elements" and how some gave off different colors. I concluded then that the sphere had not been made of any elements known to man that could be seen. I also remember wondering what the things inside the sphere were doing then... Observing humans? Spying on them? Later on, I somehow discovered a sort of hidden library, a modern treasure trove of tons of knowledge, etc. I did not see many people there at first, but gradually more people came. I looked at a huge book with what appeared to be Asian text or characters in it (for practicing writing), and felt saddened to see that not all of it had been filled in. For one of the first times in any dream, I saw the words very vividly, in great detail, and written correctly as they should look (in some of my other dreams, I end up reading nonsensical words that only made sense in that one dream lol). As I walked through the exit, I saw someone walking in, and ran back inside so quickly that I dropped my keys. She picked up the keys and tried to steal it. oO;; I ran after her, and made it so that she dropped my keys and they fell onto the floor where I was able to retrieve it. I ran back into the library to stop her from going in, but she shoved her way in anyways. All this time, I had the sense that she wanted to destroy the library and steal something important. I struggled with her for a while longer before I finally woke up and realized it was all just a dream.

Dream #17

In another dream I later told one of my friends about, a girl tried to sabotage 5 ships with some guys on them. The entire thing was surreal, like a battleship. I went from "room" to "room," as if inside a ship. It seemed like I lived on the ship... I went into one room where I was knee-deep in seawater. There were lots of plants and underwater life in the water, but a shark had been assigned to protect me... (no idea from what, but I didn't feel scared at all). XD I went towards a table with handouts on it, and an old man behind the desk said, "Your handouts are over there. If you have any questions, little girl, feel free to ask." He said all this in a foreign language. I thanked the kind Sir and picked up the papers. I think they were for practicing some penmanship or writing...

Dream #18

I woke up after dreaming about how a "grandfather" in my dream took a photo of 9 moons that suddenly appeared in the sky, as proof that the "___ Gods" were still watching us.

Dream #19

This dream should be more appropriately titled "The Creepy Virus-Egg Dream." Yes, my dreams are weird and some are very strange. Go figure... The details are real, though.

In this dream, I had gone to a pottery store with lots of lovely and strange ceramic creations on the shelves. Suddenly, I was in a house, and there was a "family" inspecting two ceramic eggs that were white, red, and gold for the most part. I looked at one egg, and shrugged. There seemed to be nothing unusual about it. However, when I looked at the other egg, I began to feel a sense of dread and extreme fear. What was so scary about the egg? I couldn't figure it out, but that sense of horror just kept staying with me. Shuddering, I went to find the father figure of the family and told him I needed him to move the family out of my way when I started to run. For some reason, I could feel impending doom, and all I could do was just keep staring at the egg as I slowly made my way away from it, fearing that if I moved too suddenly, something might happen. It seemed that my caution did not do much however, since the egg cracked and something started to try to get out. I started to run up the stairs, and with some odd sixth sense, I could see the contents of the egg running after me. It looked like a little girl(?) or some kind of humanish alien that seemed to be growing a little too fast for comfort. One moment it was an infant, then a baby, then a girl... It was multiplying its cells way too fast, never losing speed as it chased after me. I ran up the stairs of the 2nd story house, and darted into one of the rooms, closing the door to hide my presence. When I heard the creature(?) looking for me in the main room, I ran out of the room and down the stairs. It was then that I thought to myself, "What is wrong with me? Why didn't I ask for a pair of shoes and some money?" It is clear to me now that at the time, I realized I was barefoot, and that it would hurt when I ran outside the house over the frozen terrain. Also, where would I go without a car or bus fare? It would simply not be fast enough to escape otherwise... I ran towards the locked front door and started throwing open the five locks, feeling the panic rising with every step I heard down the stairs. I managed to open them all, but by then, I could hear the footsteps behind me as I threw open the doors and sped out onto the cold concrete. I hadn't even reached the curb before I knew it was too late, and the creature(?) had caught me.

Oddly enough, I never felt the pain or whatever it was that the creature was going to since I woke up right then, freaking out in my bed. I remember not being able to breathe for quite a few seconds, and kept thanking God it was only a dream, although why I would have such a frightening dream was beyond me. To all appearances, I was being chased by some kind of insane virus bent on killing me, and I could not think of anything in real life that could remotely resemble what had happened in the dream. At the time, I was not under intense pressure or stress that usually accompanied these type of dreams, and I could not think of any events that would have inspired such a creepy dream. My conclusion, then, was that the dream was trying to tell me something about the future, one that I would definitely not find pleasant, but must prepare for nevertheless, having been forewarned about it in such a manner. It is yet another dream that I would not wish on my worst enemy... The feeling of fear was so overwhelming and literally overbearing that I shudder now to even think of that creepy... well, thing... I don't know what it was, really, but it was fast and the intent to kill was so overpowering... I can't even put into words exactly how I felt, like I usually could with these type of dreams. Trying to recall the dream scares me, and I freeze up trying to reach for any descriptors. Perhaps a visual record of this dream would inform a little bit better...?

Dream #20 (This next dream is a bit more complicated. Please do not continue if you’re getting a bad feeling about it already. You have been warned.)

I had another one of those story-like dreams again. In short...

For some reason, I was constantly changing locations in the dream, but near the end, I was with a group of people that were running away from something. The people consisted of me and two spoiled, bratty children that had 2 maids (they were serving those children) and a man that I kept thinking was the “Mad Hatter” in the dream. After a certain point, I kept changing roles between me and the Mad Hatter (yes, becoming that person).

At first, we just walked along as if we were on a sight-seeing trip. At some point, the trip turned into a nightmare when something suddenly started chasing us. We never were able to see it because the Mad Hatter had a “game” in his hand (looked kind of like an advanced Nintendo DS or something?) and he was playing it as quickly as he could. Out of everyone, only he knew about the secrets surrounding the area we were passing through. The DS-like device had a simple map of where we were going, and the directions in which we could go, but it didn’t show much except for blocky roads and a castle that we were approaching near the end. Near the beginning of the dream, the two bratty kids (one girl and one boy) were constantly bickering and fighting amongst themselves and their maids, complaining about how this was a stupid trip and they hated it. They would rather be elsewhere, doing whatever they usually did. The Mad Hatter just strolled along, pretty much ignoring what was going on. I still have no idea what he was doing there, but I had a feeling he was only going along the same road, not there because he had been ordered to stay with the children or anything.

At some point however, I started realizing that the Mad Hatter would occasionally finish a game and then a new location would “open up” in front of us and everyone would suddenly notice it, and decide to move forward. At first, the kids didn’t really notice or care, so we were going slowly, just walking forwards. After a while, they started paying attention to their surroundings and realized that the roads ahead were sometimes blocked, and we appeared to be walking in circles. Even so, they weren’t particularly worried until something in the dream changed. I can’t quite pinpoint how to explain it, but there was a sense of danger that suddenly appeared after I jumped through another part of the dream as someone else (yeah, I went to another “map” and was someone else for a bit, then started being chased by some crazy creature I didn’t really see). When I appeared before the travelling group as me again, the creature somehow followed me, and then the entire dream became frantic. A sense of fear suddenly gripped most of the travelers, with the exception of the two bratty kids who were still arguing with each other. The Mad Hatter seemed to have somehow picked up on the feeling that something was beginning to chase us and threaten our lives, so he started tinkering madly with his DS-like device. It was probably then that I realized the Mad Hatter was the one completing the games(?) that gave us access to the next parts of whatever was on his map. At one point, we were urged to run forwards towards a Castle that suddenly appeared on his map and he ordered us all to go in as we ran, even before he had completed the "game." He finished the "game" just as we arrived and the huge, heavy doors swung open. We all rushed in, out of breath, not quite sure why we were running in the first place. Behind us, the doors slammed and we appeared to be trapped in the Castle. The kids suddenly became frightened but they still thought it was a stupid trip and that the maids (who had picked up on the feelings of fear) were becoming paranoid. Somehow, the Mad Hatter decided it might be better not to explain to the kids what was chasing us for now (it appeared that he knew what the creatures was). At this point, I had a feeling that the "games" were becoming increasingly more difficult, but he decided to say nothing to the maids or the kids in case they began to panic. He did, however, tell us that inside the Castle, we could talk to any of the Castle Maids and ask them for anything we wanted. The Mad Hatter demonstrated by saying to a Castle Maid, “Food.” The Castle Maid (that really looked like an NPC to me) responded by saying, “You may eat the food on the table.” Suddenly, food appeared on a nearby table. The children stopped fighting, awed by the magical event, and greedily went to grab the food. The Mad Hatter specifically told them that they must always give a request before doing something, and then hurried off to continue working on the game for moving on to the next location. Whereas the Mad Hatter had been effortlessly clearing the levels to move on before, he now had to concentrate on each one. I was busy watching him (either as me or as the Mad Hatter himself), so I didn’t notice until it was too late that one of the children had forgotten to make a request before doing something. (After making several requests, the children became bored and began to think the entire requesting affair was silly.) Even now, I’m not too sure what it was, but I think it had something to do with not asking for permission to sit on some sofas before the children started playing/jumping on them. Since the furniture was disturbed without permission being granted, the Castle suddenly started giving off warning alarms, and this stunned the Mad Hatter. He stopped his game and ran towards the children and their maids.

“NOOOO!!” The Mad Hatter cried out. “Run with me, NOW! We need to get out!”

By now, the children were frightened with all the lights and alarms blaring and we all started to run towards another set of large, heavy doors. The Mad Hatter had not solved the puzzle yet, so he was furiously solving the level as we ran towards the door.

“Hurry!” The girl screamed as large Castle Guards suddenly appeared from side corridors and started to chase us with huge swords and axes. I thought to myself, “So that’s what the Mad Hatter wanted to prevent…”

The children arrived at the doors before it opened, even though the Mad Hatter had already finished the level. The doors swung inwards slowly, even as the children beat their fists on it, wailing. They turned back to look at us, who were running more slowly because we were fending off the Castle Guards. The maids ran more slowly as well, (they were quite a distance behind the children, although one eventually reached the door) and one of the maids fell far behind when a Castle Guard caught up with her. By now, the girl was hysterical and she went back through the door to reach the maid that had tripped and fell after a Castle Guard swung its gigantic axe at her and missed. The Mad Hatter, who had already been diverting the Castle Guards’ attentions for the other maid, was going back again for the maid that fell when the Castle Guard raised its axe again and this time, it didn’t miss. Red fluid splattered all over the floor, towards the large door we had just passed through. The young girl shrieked at the top of her lungs even while the boy and the second maid (that had made it through the door already) yanked on her clothes, trying to pull her back through the door. However, after seeing her friend fall, the second maid fell weakly to her knees as well. Halfway towards the bloodied, fallen maid, the Mad Hatter stopped in his tracks and began to run back towards the door, but along the way, another Castle Guard with a sword caught up to him. Although the Mad Hatter successfully dodged the slashes of a few other Castle Guards, he could not dodge that one and it cut him deeply in the side. He half-fell, half-slid through the doors, making a long crimson streak along the polished surface of the ground. The Castle Guards stopped chasing as soon as the Mad Hatter passed through the door, as if there was an invisible barrier between us and the room where the still figure of the other maid laid, ignored by all the NPC-like people. The Castle Guards slowly turned around and began to walk whence they had come even as the doors closed between us.

Everyone sat shaking and trembling, crying as they realized this was not just a game like they originally thought it was. I was busy trying to help the Mad Hatter, who was still lying on the ground, coughing up blood and bleeding out at an astonishingly fast rate. Even though no words were said, I somehow realized that I could make requests to the new set of NPC-like Castle Maids for help. I said to them, “Healing Potion!” A red potion suddenly appeared by me and the Castle Maids replied, “You may use the Healing Potion.” I started to pour the potion onto the Mad Hatter’s wounds right before I started to wake up from the dream, and it was also around then that I suddenly realized the rules for the Castle had changed. Since we had somehow passed through a more difficult level, we now had more items that we could access, and their effects were also more potent. The Mad Hatter didn’t say anything to me, but he somehow let me know that the people with us would be safe in this part of the Castle for a while because the creature that was chasing us was going to have a difficult time with the Castle Guards from before. He also somehow let me know that there was nothing we could have done for the maid that fell to the Castle Guards, because even if we had managed to carry her body to this part of the Castle with us, we still did not have access to the Reviving Potion that would surely be accessible to us much later on, and by then, it would have been too late to use it anyways.

I felt sad when I woke up, and wondered why I was having strange story-like dreams again.

When stories like these keep appearing before me, I find that I often can’t sleep too well, and after that dream, I was semi-afraid I might accidentally go back into that Castle again somehow (yes, dreams have actually continued before for me x_X ). I also didn’t want to keep thinking of the creature, which I really think was chasing the children, although I still have no idea why. If anything, this was one of the more realistic and scarier dreams I’d had in a while, since before it, I had stopped having such vivid dreams for a bit. It had been a few months since I’d felt such a feeling of unease or fear in a dream, so I’m still trying to figure out the significance of this dream, in case it’s a warning of sorts.

Anyways… I hope you didn’t mind that I decided to post this many dreams all at once. Hopefully, you found some of them to be somewhat entertaining at least? ^^0;;

Anyways… I hope you didn’t mind that I decided to post this many dreams all at once. Hopefully, you found some of them to be somewhat entertaining at least? ^^0;;

RDay13 :

I think I can accurately depict exactly what he was thinking.

It goes something like "AHHHHHHH"

-----

Maybe one day I'll share some of my nightmares. But it's better not to dwell on them, and focus on the good things.

Alright, this is gonna be a big one. Not as big as your post, obviously, but whatever. The following dreams aren't something I'd be that scared of today, but they scared me back then. Either that, or the dream felt like a nightmare.

Dream #1 - This one is pretty vague since I only remember so much of it. I think I had this dream when I was like, 3 or something. I was really into watching this show called Baby Einsteins or something like that, and there was this one episode with a blue goat in it that said "ooh la la". So that night, I had a nightmare where that goat was in my dream, but it had a distorted face, but still said "ooh la la" in a normal voice. I am literally crying from laughter as I type it because it was one of the weirdest things I have ever seen pop into my head and it's just great.

Dream #2 - I had this dream when I was in 6th Grade. It was just me at school, everything was normal, until suddenly, freaking Perfect Chaos from Sonic Adventure appears and attacks and floods the school. I have NO IDEA why this happened, so I got the bright idea to gather up a bunch of my friends and shoot Perfect Chaos with some AK-47s we found lying on the ground. Don't ask, because I won't know the answer.

Dream #3 - This dream is probably my favorite one of the bunch. I was at the airport with my dad, when I lost him and couldn't find him. I decide the best idea was to just sit and wait until someone helps me or dad finds me. Suddenly, Will Smith, that's right, Will Smith, agreed to help me find my dad. We drove in his golf kart from Texas to a desert on the border of Texas to Tennessee, even though those states don't touch in real life. We crossed the desert that was about the size of my room, and we were almost dying of thirst. After we crossed the desert, we find a frozen yogurt shop that was literally right next to my dad's house at the time and we eat there before I get home and find my dad. Yep.

Dream #4 - This one gets really inappropriate at the end, so I'm not going to go in detail about it. Basically it was like Hunger Games at the start, except I was the only male. Once the Hunger Games were over, I won, and everyone was alive again. My prize was...erm...."happy time" with all of the females. Even though this may sound like a good dream, I woke up and it felt like a bad dream...so...yeah. I have no control over my dreams, don't judge me. ;-;

Dream #5 - This dream is my most recent and scariest one of them all. Are you ready? Brace yourself. I was eating cereal. That's it. Are you scared yet? You should be. I woke up and felt so terrified for no reason, and all the dream was was me eating cereal. I have no idea...

Also, me when I saw this thread:

Yep.

Dream #4 - This one gets really inappropriate at the end, so I'm not going to go in detail about it. Basically it was like Hunger Games at the start, except I was the only male. Once the Hunger Games were over, I won, and everyone was alive again. My prize was...erm...."happy time" with all of the females. Even though this may sound like a good dream, I woke up and it felt like a bad dream...so...yeah. I have no control over my dreams, don't judge me. ;-;

Yuna1000 : wow! having read many threads I have never read one before describing so many different kinds of dreams I myself on more than one occasion have had a dream about living in a huge mansion consisting of many rooms on which each room was furnished with what appeared to be either older or antique furniture I also had dreamed about winning money in a casino while playing slot machines and I have even dreamed about my grandmother even though she passed away 17 years ago I think when it comes to dreams sometimes what we dream about could maybe have to do with different things or people that we have on our minds at the time we are sleeping also in my opinion when it comes to weird or strange dreams I find that if I play a strange video game either on or offline before I go to bed I usually end up having a weird dream the same thing can also happen if I was to watch any kind of strange movie on tv or u tube as for nightmares to me the only good thing about them is that they don,t happen very often but when they do it,s always a relief when the nightmare is either over or I can wake up before it gets to the end

So the thing is I love everything to do with horror and creepy stuff because I really don't get scared. And this isn't my worst nightmare, but it's a very common occurring dream that the first time I had it scared me.

So pretty much I'm in the back of a truck riding through some farm lands. When we get to the corn maze, some voice tells me to get off and throws me into the corn maze. No matter how I much I run around, I can't find the exit. Eventually, Dr. Nick from The Simpsons appears and tries to cut off my legs with a buzz saw whilst screaming "Hey everybody!" at the top of his lungs.

It sounds silly, and I have no idea why I have that dream a lot, but I do and well it's one of those super realistic dreams and it scared me the first time.

Most of my dreams are set in some kind of ridiculous, post apocalyptic survival setting and involve some gore, though oddly enough, I rarely take part in the violence in my dreams. I recall a lot of incredibly vivid dreams, most of which I retained several of my senses in.

Running themes are people I've never seen before, but somehow have extremely distinct physical features and full personalities, mutants and monsters, tornadoes, and locations I've been to first hand but have been altered or combined, and reoccurring dreams, sometimes with slight variation or an unexplainable (since I don't know I'm dreaming) feeling of familiarity. For the sake of staying on topic, I'll mention only the dreams that could be classified as nightmares.

This one, while not exactly a nightmare, did have me concerned for my life. I've also had the same dream at least three times with no variation between them. I wake up in a fetal position from a very, very comfortable, restful sleep, only to realize that I'm completely naked and holding by breath under a body of water with no end in sight, including above, despite a light source appearing to be the sun. At this point, I start to frantically swim to the top for air, but it's literally endless. Just as I gasp, expecting to get a lung full of water, I breath in air, which reasonably confuses me and I wake up from the dream in a fetal position in the middle of the bed, wrapped in a cocoon of bed clothing to find out I've been holding my breath in my sleep.

This is also a dream I've had at least twice, without any change between them. I wake up in my bed like normal and climb down from the top bunk and head to the bathroom to find a semi truck parked inside with the room disproportionately large to accommodate it. I thought it was strange, but shrugged it off and walked to the living room just as a massive crowd of zombies begins beating on the windows and front door. I just stood and paused for a moment, let out a sigh of frustration and calmly said aloud "Dad! The world's been taken over by zombies again!" before waking up.

There was once that I dreamed that my mom was chasing me around with a big knife in a psychotic, frenzied way, but I don't remember a lot about that one.

There was this one dream that I had and I only remember one part of it. My family and I were sitting on the carpet in front of a TV. They just starred and didn't really do much. The TV showed three little girls sitting on stools and not doing anything else. After a few minutes, they slowly started grinning with a mouth full of freakishly long, sharp teeth.

One of the dreams that frightened me the most was the one where there were these charcoal grey/black humanoid creatures with no eyes or nose that could run and climb incredibly fast and were going from house to house, mauling and eating people in their sleep. It was pitch black. No flashlights, no electricity, no moonlight, not even fire, so you couldn't see anything. You just lay in bed, listening to the hissing and growling and the people in the neighborhood screaming in pain and then getting quiet, waiting to die. It felt like I was there for a few hours.

In another dream, I was talking to someone I was friends with in my dream, but had otherwise never seen before in my life. He looked down and pointed at a $100,000,000 bill, only in place of the numbers, it was something to the effect of "U#Y&^#N)$*&#", and then everything started shaking like there was an earthquake (there's only one fault line in Tennessee, and it's in the northeast of the state, probably a couple hundred miles from where I lived). I woke up and went to go tell my dad about the crazy dream I had and he turned into a big, green orc-like thing, levitated off of the bed and chased me down the hallway. There was more furniture in the living room than normal and my mother and grandmother were both asleep on the couches (we hadn't lived with out grandma yet). when I tried waking them up, several spider monkeys approached me and I actually woke up.

And then there was likely the most bizarre one. Everything happened really, really quickly, so a description isn't going to do as well as an animated illustration would. I dreamed that I was back at the old apartment complex we lived in, talking to my friends when some really bad storm clouds blew up and we decided it would be a good idea to start getting inside. My sister falls into a waist-deep mud/quicksand pit and a tornado develops. I jump into a dune buggy that was conveniently placed feet away, pull my sister out of the pit and start to evacuate everyone before driving to downtown Nashville to take cover in a giant ice cave. Just as everyone make it in, a bolt of purple lightning extends from the clouds and strikes several statues on top of a tall building, transforming them into purple laser spewing, cyclops gargoyles that cause the cave to fall in.

There was another case of freakish weather in my dreams. A massive, 3-mile-wide super tornado completely demolishes the whole town, leaving us with building shacks from rubble and scrap as our only means for shelter. We later find out that the rain was mutagenic, causing the animals to mutate into rotting, bipedal creatures that start attacking us.

That's all that I recall at this moment. There were more dreams that were possibly more meaningful, but none I would call nightmares. These are far from the most vivid, as well.

Holy macaroni, you have an incredible memory and amazing focus! To be able to remember so many dreams in such fine detail is very impressive to me! Some of them are quite lengthy and well arranged, it's amazing your subconscious can produce and maintain them in such vivid detail so long.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading through them!

I did not find any of the dreams to be horrifying while reading them naturally, but I did experience a buzzing sensation when I read your attempt to describe the overwhelming feelings in Dream #19. The way you word it, with the spacing and "lack of description" really effectively expresses the feelings you were trying to convey, to me! I'm fairly certain I'm familiar with and have felt that before, and it really reminded me of it. I am not prone to dreams or nightmares personally, and while I did have a couple nightmares when I was younger that I remember basically, I never thought much of them.

I really really enjoyed Dreams #3 and #11 from an artistic view. To me they both carry heavy emotional symbolism. #3 in particular. It's quite sad and poetic.

The sea portion of Dream #14 would make a very stimulating horror scene in a movie I think. I think the discovering gashes, lacerations and cuts bleeding on your body without physically realizing, would be quite the mindshock.

Dream #20 is so well described and arranged, it really could be a short story! The way the people in your group had notable personalities, the way the events unfold. It is single handedly the most articulately expressed dream I've ever read/heard.

And finally, touching back to the horror aspect, I don't very often at all find myself scared by the things I see or hear. I have however experienced that overbearing overwhelming horrific feeling, but in regards to thoughts on something happening or not in my life. (One thought I've had many a night is the sensation something horrible might happen to my siblings or mother. When I have those thoughts, I feel like my mind is choking on itself.)
To conclude, if your dreaming remains avid I'd love to hear more! It was entertaining to say the least.

I had a dream once, and I still remember it vividly, where I was in a house near the ocean. I had my wife and my one kid and the dog and some other people were walking around. We were at the foot of a mountain and a little river was running by us. The sun was out, there was no beach, just flowers and open prairie, and things were nice.

Then rumbling happened and water came from over the mountain. it was like the scene from 2012 where the Tibetan monastery was wiped out but it was before that movie came out. The whole house was inundated and we were underwater. We had the doors closed and the windows closed and there wasn't any water getting in just yet but the whole house was completely covered. I remember looking at the windows, hearing the glass start to strain, and wondering when it would all come crashing in. My wife and I and our daughter went into the bathroom, which had a small fogged-glass window, and I remember the feeling of sadness.

My heart was completely sad and I knew we were going to die and it would be scary for my daughter and unpleasant for my wife and I. That feeling of giving up and just waiting, knowing what was going to happen stayed with me after I woke up. The feeling of hopelessness, looking at my daughter, knowing she had no idea what was coming, made me feel powerless against nature. Sure, we all die, but we were about to right then and there and nothing could make it better.

I still think of that dream every often and my heart hangs heavy.

The worst nightmare I had was when I was fifteen years old. I don't remember what happened in the dream at all except at the very end of it. Out of nowhere, my grandma came at me and began to strangle me, and it ended cuz I woke up feeling panicked and cried for several minutes.

Also, this is a nightmare too, but I didn't wake up right away when it happened, and I wonder why I didn't. Recently, I had a dream where I was locked in the small music practice room in school, and then this boy in my school came to the room, and let's just say he forced himself on me. This dream was a horrible reminder that the very same boy actually did something similar to me last year in May, and since then, he's been appearing in my dreams and turning them into nightmares like this.
