What is your favorite fictional ship of all time? It could be a surface ship, a ship that's stuck on dry land, a submarine (yes, I'm going to count them) or even a spaceship. (Examples: Black Pearl, USS Enterprise, Millennium Falcon, Red October, and TDD-1 Tuatha de Danaan.)

Personally, I'm a fan of the ones I listed earlier, and I would love to hear what everyone else likes. Since we are now in the realm of fiction, feel free to describe the ships a bit more since it's quite likely that not everyone has seen/read about all these ships and some ships are only mentioned in passing in a few books/films/games but don't have their own information/Wiki pages online.

Black Pearl - The Black Pearl from the Pirates of the Caribbean films looks lovely to me. It has a lot of sails and moves faster than many of the other ships (I like it more than the Flying Dutchman).

USS Enterprise - I don't watch Star Trek all that much, but when I do... I love watching the Enterprise take off into hyperspace. =P

Millennium Falcon - For the same reason that I love the USS Enterprise, I like watching the Millennium Falcon take off at lightspeed. ^^

Red October - The Hunt for Red October is one of my favorite stories/films and even though the Red October is a submarine, I'm still going to count it as a ship. I happen to like submarines with lots of stealth abilities.

TDD-1 Tuatha de Danaan - Also known as the Toy Box or Dana from the anime/manga Full Metal Panic, Dana was a submarine that was rebuilt by its Captain, Teletha Testarossa.

Now it's your turn to tell us about the ship (or ships) you like and let us know why it is your favorite fictional ship (or ships).

The Black Pearl is a must. Its shape, the black sails, its performance... Very little ships in that franchise can attempt to outclass it.

One of the masterpieces in this aspect is the Nautilus. The most recent image I have of it is when it appeared in the film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, being Captain Nemo's most useful piece of technology. Its shape is absolutely delightful, the interior is also very detailed and let's not forget the many things it could do that even today are hard to imagine.

When you mentioned the USS Enterprise, i was like "YES! FINALLY!"

That should be clear enough, i guess. But to go into the details, i've seen a bunch of episodes from Star Trek - The Next Generation. One of them had the Enterprise of the future, with instead of two warp engines, THREE engines. And it looked so awesome, that i realized Star Trek looks awesome sometimes. Otherwise it shocks me or makes me think VERY deep.

Oh boy. I don't know if you all will consider this a fictional ship, since it's similarity to the Titanic is so remarkable that it baffles me. My favorite fictional ship is the Titan from a book I forgot the name of that came out around a decade before the Titanic was even created. The only reason this is my favorite fictional ship is due to the sheer amount of similarities it has with the Titanic and its sinking. Below is a list of the similarities between the two ships:

1. Both ships had triple-screwed propellers.
2. They were both described as "unsinkable".
3. Both ships had a shortage of lifeboats.
4. Both ships struck an iceberg.
5. Both ships sank.

Isn't that crazy!? It's like he predicted the future or something. I can't even understand how stuff like this is possible. Kudos to whoever the author of that book is.
