I watched the movie Freaky Friday on the 13th of this month and thought it was pretty intriguing and funny that fortune cookies were mentioned at a pivotal moment in the film. Long story short, the main characters cracked open a fortune cookie and received a fortune from the fortune cookie that reads, "A journey soon begins, its prize reflected in another's eyes, when what you see is what you lack, then selfless love will change you back." The words on the slip of paper ended up having a great impact on the way the characters behaved around each other later on in the film. After seeing how fortune cookies were depicted in the film, I began to wonder how many people actually know what fortune cookies are, and whether anyone still enjoys eating them.

Haha, we have a chinese buffet that we go to a lot more than we go to other resturaunts, and not only is its food good, but the fortune cookies are as well.

I can recall multiple times when a funny incident involving a fortune cookie occurred. At least one member of my family has gotten a blank fortune twice. And the last time we went, there was a fortune inside my mom's soda. xD

I wouldn't say it's bad business, but more of an honest mistake, since I find it funny rather than being angry because of it. What's weird is that a lot of the times the fortunes I get come true to an extent. I remember I once got this fortune in 7th Grade that read, "You will make a new friend" or something like that.

And sure enough, about a week or so later, I made a new friend, although we don't really talk anymore.

I'm not going to lie this was a thing in the past for my family, I don't remember what ones I had sadly. And we don't really eat Chinese food anymore.

I love fortune cookies. Not one has every come true, but they taste great. Something about the consistency and the sweetness with that little bit of lemon flavor.

About 8 or 9 years ago, I got a fortune that said something along the lines of "You will soon inherit great wealth". I assumed then that it meant money, but "wealth" could be anything, I guess.
