In Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, it is impossible to tell what the gender of each Pokemon is. That's because genders of Pokemon were introduced in the 2nd generation and beyond.

Sorry, but you aren't really able to tell without trading. Not that it matters really since gender doesn't have a function in the first generation anyway.

No way of checking without trading.

Well, unless it's something with a 100% gender rate like the Nidoran lines or Jynx

Well, in Gen I, you can tell what gender your Pokémon is. The only exceptions are Nidoran♂, Nidorino, Nidoking, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Tauros, who are always male, Nidoran♀, Nidorina, Nidoqueen, Chansey, Kangaskhan and Jinx, who are always female, and Magnemite, Magneton, Voltorb, Electrode, Staryu, Starmie, Porygon, Ditto and all five Legendaries - Articuno, Zapdos, Moltress, Mew and Mewtwo - who are always genderless. But they don't get their true genders until Gen II, with the exception of the two Nidoran lines.
