I just read about the earthquake on Bay News 9, and it did more than destroy Chile:

• It changed the earth's axis slightly. I don't know how much or where, but now our days are shorter.

• One of the threads I read here was making a prediction about the 2012 event involving the axis change, so it's more probable (I think).

I don't know what's going on, but it could be a sign...

P.S. i'm not being crazy, I actually saw this!

the haiti earthquake? it wasn't even that powerful though...

the one in Chili was 8.3 or something.... 10 times more powerful than the one in Chili.

I find that hard to believe that an earthquake changed the earth's axis.... that doesn't make sense to me

Well, this one did. I didn't believe it either, but somehow, it changed the axis.

Like I said, it could be a sign...

well, I'm glad you edited things so that I looked insane

as for the chili earthquake.... I don't know enough to know whether it would do that or not. I guess it could. How much it changed is probably not significant though.... if it were significant then I think more people would be talking about this

I didn't realize how strong the earthquake was unitl what happened in Haiti!! By the way I've I have been donating for Haiti up to 20 dollars!!

& don't get too obsessed about the 2012 rumour!! This prediction is just bolonley!! They have also thought the world was gonna end in 2000, but it didn't, so 9 chance out of 10, it may not happen in 2012 either!!

" "The length of the day should have gotten shorter by 1.26 microseconds [millionths of a second]," Richard Gross, a geophysicist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, told Bloomberg. "The axis about which the Earth's mass is balanced should have moved by 2.7 milliarcseconds [about 8 centimeters or 3 inches]." "

like I said.... that is basically insignificant... compared to the size of the earth that is barely noticeable. I wouldn't worry about it

Well, Chili is near the equator, so I can see it happening. But our axis shifts all of the time, so it is nothing to worry about.

And as for that theory... the poles shift every so often, it doesn't cause catastrophic events. They don't even know that it will happen... they don't know if anything will happen. Just let it go.

I'm just saying that after I saw this, I pieced it together with the thread I saw regarding it with 2012, I was giving out an idea out of the result.

And I agree with you regarding about 2012 being BS, but this is the first i've seen the axis change happen through an earthquake.

Not that surprising of a concept considering the way scientists are discussing it.
