Overview: Donkey Kong 3 was the definite oddball in a series of popular platformers by Nintendo. After seeing success with Donkey Kong & Donkey Kong Jr., the big n decided to go in another direction, creating an odd shooter. Despite that, it's not really awful.
Controls: You use left and right to move accordingly, up to jump, and your action button to spray. Stanley can only spray upwards, sadly.
Graphics: For 1983, this game looks wonderful. Stanley bleeps and bloops in full, pixelated glory. The insects are lively, and so is our titular ape. It's actually quite pleasant. 8/10
Gameplay: Stanley jumps up and down to kill the numerous insects, all while keep Kong at bay. Letting him descend to the bottom ends your exquisite experience. Bees strike at you and steal your veggies, while the queen bees only aim at you, and take at least two hits to slay. Beetles descend to collide with you, while Moths move erratically. It's varied and interesting. 8/10
Sound: There isn't much music, and the sound effects can get quite repetitive. 6/10
Addictiveness: This game isn't all too sticky. It only has about three levels, which don't change much at all or require much strategy. 4/10
Story: Very simple. Kong is stealing your vegetables now, along with some insects. You must stop them. 2/10
Depth: There isn't much to do, sadly. You just jump and spray continuosly. 2/10
Difficulty: This game can get quite difficult. Enemies swarm around constantly, and can be quite a hassle. Kong can screw you over easily. You have to keep track of everything, always. 8/10
Verdict: This game is fun. It's different, but a robust entry in a classic series. Play it if you want a good challenge and some fun. 8.2/10
