Public transportation. Do you love it? Do you hate it?

I have the ultimate love/hate relationship with transportation.

I can almost always trust the trains and buses in NYC to get me where I need to go on time, even when I leave late, they always get me there. They rarely screw me over, only when there's construction or someone gets sick, and my favorite part is that when im in the subway with no internet, its the perfect place to watch saved YouTube videos, play video games, it write.

But then come the morons. People who don't know how buses and trains work can make the rides so uncomfortable. Whether they are tourists it simply oblivious to the laws of common sense.

Take a look at Bob over here. He goes to a college where his only three classes are Common Sense, Logic, and Sense of Direction. Well guess what? Bob failed and works at McDonalds.

A couple times, I saw people on the platform so oblivious to directions, service changes, or whatever, that I got OFF my train just to watch what they end up doing, not even to explain what was wrong.

If you're reading this subway, I love you.

What about you? What are your thoughts and stories of public transit?

For the most part, I prefer using the subways when I am in NYC to get around. You can pretty much go to anywhere on a subway in Manhattan. I don't typically go to the other boroughs, so I can't speak to how convenient they are.

The only thing that irritates me is that people don't understand simple train etiquette. Let me get off the train before you get on... its not hard and it only takes about 5 seconds.

Vanelan : I really like trains a lot, especially the NYC subway, it’s just that people make it uncomfortable lol. It’s awesome when the train is empty and fast, that’s the best thing ever.

Why do people not knowing what they're doing make you uncomfortable? Who cares if they don't understand how transportation works. I'm from an area that is rich in cars and trucks. We don't have busses or trains and we don't need them since we're the Motor City.

But I lived in Boston and I figured it out. I never had a problem if someone else didn't know what they were doing.

Public transportation sucks compared to having my truck and my car. I can just jump and get where I need to. I don't worry about jamming into a train with other people. I don't worry about wandering down the street in the rain or snow and hoping nothing slowed down the transit system. Many of Boston's T stops are outdoors with little cover and rush hour traffic makes things aromatic, soggy, and slow.

I'll take I-94 over the C line any day of the week. I've had some fun experiences on trains but for the most part, I'll pass.
